Obama: We Saved World From Disaster

From an unquestioning Associated Press:

World has avoided economic disaster, Obama says

By Charles Babington, Associated Press Writer

L’AQUILA, Italy – Lasting worldwide recovery "is still a ways off," President Barack Obama declared Friday, but he also said at the conclusion of a global summit that a disastrous economic collapse apparently has been averted.

Obama said world leaders had taken significant measures to address economic, environmental and global security issues.

"Reckless actions by a few have fueled a recession that spans the globe," Obama said of the meltdown that began in the United States with a tumble in housing prices and drastic slowing of business lending. The downturn now threatens superpowers and emerging nations alike.

Obama urged national leaders to unite behind a global recovery plan that includes stricter financial regulation and sustained stimulus spending.

"The only way forward is through shared and persistent effort to combat threats to our peace, our peace, our prosperity and our common humanity wherever they may exist. None of this will be easy," Obama told a news conference at the end of the Group of Eight summit of major economic powers…

On the world economy, Obama said that rising food prices mean millions more are falling into desperate poverty "and right now, at this defining moment, we face a choice. We can either shape our future or let events shape it for us."

"While our markets are improving and we appear to have averted global collapse, we know that too many people are still struggling. So we agree that full recovery is still a ways off." He said the world leaders felt "it would be premature to begin winding down our stimulus plans." …

What a typical collection of meaningless verbiage, self-aggrandizement – disinformation.

"Reckless actions by a few have fueled a recession that spans the globe," Obama said of the meltdown that began in the United States with a tumble in housing prices and drastic slowing of business lending.

By a few Democrats.

Including, of course Mr. Obama himself. Who among other things, sued to end ‘red-lining” so that more people could get loans that they could not afford.

Obama urged national leaders to unite behind a global recovery plan that includes stricter financial regulation and sustained stimulus spending.

If the disaster has been averted (with less than 10% of US stimulus money even spent), why do we need more regulation and more stimulus spending?

This is double-talk.

Which seems to be Mr. Obama’s native tongue.

"The only way forward is through shared and persistent effort to combat threats to our peace, our peace, our prosperity and our common humanity wherever they may exist. None of this will be easy," Obama [said]…

Oddly enough, none of the real threats to the world’s peace were even slightly combated.

What tangible things has the G8 actually done about Iran or North Korea?

Hint: absolutely none.

They have not even increased sanctions.

On the world economy, Obama said that rising food prices mean millions more are falling into desperate poverty "and right now, at this defining moment, we face a choice. We can either shape our future or let events shape it for us."

If Mr. Obama and the rest of the G8 were truly concerned about global poverty or world hunger, they would not be pushing for their ‘global warming’ measures which, being a tax on energy, will raise the price of food along with everything else.

They would also be in favor of global warming, since it would extend the world’s growing season and make food more abundant.

But they care even less about the world’s poor and starving than they do their own citizens.

They simply want more power over our lives.

    You hear that?

“Reckless actions by a few have fueled a recession that spans the globe.”
Here’s the kicker …… it is all our fault ……….AGAIN!!
Oh the loathe I hold for this dreg on society!

  2. U NO HOO says:

    Just to nit pick:

    “a ways”

a is singular, ways is plural, double f for syntax to the “silver tongued devil,” guess Totus must have been out of sight.

    • DGA says:

No, TOTUS is never out of sight, it’s clear that the TOTUS programmer screwed up. I bet the TOTUS programmer could put just about any crap on the thing and BHO would read it off without even stopping to think, he’s pretty much spellbound by the contraption.

  3. BannedbytheTaliban says:

“They would also be in favor of global warming, since it would extend the world’s growing season and make food more abundant.”

You see SG you have it all wrong. Global warming will cause the temperature to rise so much that the entire world will be a desert with no growing seasons. You know, like back during the age of the dinosaurs. Back when the warm planet couldn’t sustain multiple ton beasts whose whole food chain was based on green-leaf forage for a billion years. Then thankfully man evolved, and with his reason and compassion lowered the earth’s temperature to the utopia we have today. I know all this because the computer model I created to prove my hypothesis told me thus.

On another note, I haven’t seen such a blatant propaganda piece since the fall of the Third Reich. The coming of our dear leader Obama has reminded me of another work of art praising his coming:

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
    The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
    Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
    The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
    Are full of passionate intensity.

    Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
    Troubles my sight: a waste of desert sand;
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Wind shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

  4. proreason says:

The audacity he was talking about is the audacity of Lieing.

There have been only a few such blatant liars with such power in history, and the results for all who came before this egomaniacal demagogue range from bad to catastrophic.

  5. tranquil.night says:

Oh good, the Western Public can heave a big sigh of relief and go back to nightly programming knowing the messianic 8 did in fact save the world..

Well at least until next week.

..And listen to him talk about embracing the world’s poor like he’s Pope Obamadict.

  6. MinnesotaRush says:

It just never stops with this guy, does it.

There just aren’t enough words to describe this blight which is o-blah-blah (and gang).

  7. 12 Gauge Rage says:

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! What’s that sound? It’s the bull**** meter going off again. Lately I’ve been curious that if he were still alive, what would George Orwell say about Obama?

  8. Douglas says:

Well, I’d like to point out that a giant meteoroid was going to hit the earth yesterday causing the destruction of humanity, but the end of the world was avoided because of me. I waved my hand and it was no more. So, you see, you all owe me your fealty and gratitude and your money.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it, and it’s more provable than Obama’s statements.

    • proreason says:

Sorry Douglas, your name isn’t the right color in 2009 America.

Meteor destruction or not, you simply don’t have what it takes to be worshipped as the new messiah.

  9. BatK says:

“The only way forward is through shared and persistent effort to combat threats to our peace, our peace, our prosperity and our common humanity wherever they may exist

According to the new DHS chief, anyone who opposes the murder of the unborn or the defense of America is a “threat” to the peace..and AGAIN with this “common humanity” malarkey that’s been going on since the campaign… side note: he’s sooo concerned about protecting people, why not more foreceful language or ACTION against Iran… cuz “peace” (Arabic: Islam) IS the goal…

  10. canary says:

Nerf should come out with a new toy nerf gun that shoots nerf shoes. Nerf globes sold separately.

  11. LewWaters says:

Well, he is “the messiah,” after all.

All we need do is continue to rob the rich, raise taxes across the board so no one has any funds or wealth and restrict everyone’s movement and comfort of heating and lights and the whole world will recover,,,,,,,, into poverty.

But no problem, the elderly will just be given free assisted suicide.

All, that is, except for “the messiah’s” group of elitist.

    • canary says:

Lee, the timing in Obama’s Grandma’s death, is pretty strange. May have been time to pull the cord, or prehaps after his public humilation and insult to her and is grandfather, when he showed up at her bedside it was too much for her heart. Strange she did not interviews, of any kind in the two years he was giving speeches and selling his book on shows like Oprah, they were not on good turns.

“Hi, grandmother. Can you hear me? You need to fill out this ballot that came in the mail and couple of other things. Just write a X next to my name. Oh, I’ll help move your hands and fingers to sign your name.

    • Flession says:

Canary, while we’re on the Conspiracy Express, the suspicious timing of Jacko’s death as well the day before the Cap-n-Tax Bill got passed didn’t go without my notice. Wouldn’t surprise me if some sort of wetworks team off’d him or something to divert attention away from the vote.

Not saying they did, because I have absolutely no evidence to prove it, and seeing as I tossed aside my Liberal ways long ago, I don’t start accusing people just because I think something is this way without any sort of concrete evidence.

I’m just saying it I wouldn’t exactly be looking at the situation with a “Sixth Sense Ending” (He was dead the whole time?!) kind of mentality should I actually end up being right.

    • proreason says:

canary, do you know if his grandmother or grandfather ever said anything about the boy king?

    • Petronius says:

Respectfully, I think the reference to “the boy king” gives him too much credit. And does an injustice to monarchy. For one thing, a king would never be, as we have here, an individual of mysterious or uncertain background. Nor would a monarch seek to impoverish his own realm, as Lew says, “to rob the rich, raise taxes across the board so no one has any funds or wealth….”

The tendency in democracies is to equality, to diminish property rights, to socialism, to confiscation of wealth, and to demoralization of the people, as we currently see unfolding in the USA. In other words, the government operates like a criminal enterprise, worse even than the Mafia.

This has the effect of destroying civilization, because it forces inhabitants to change their behavior, by turning formerly provident and industrious citizens into wasters, moochers, freeloaders, spendthrifts, gamblers, drunks, or daydreamers, and by turning producers and investors into slaves –– or into criminals, as they struggle to evade the ever-tightening noose of government controls and confiscations.

This sort of thing never happens in a monarchy because in a monarchy the government itself is a kind of private enterprise or private estate. The government in a monarchy is privately owned, rather than publicly owned. Therefore, the king has a vested interest in preserving and fostering the prosperity of his realm, of conserving and augmenting its resources and the property of his subjects, of promoting safety, stability, law and order, business and prosperity, and the production and accumulation of wealth, and, thus, of advancing civilization.

The monarch takes a long-range view. This policy is not only to the monarch’s immediate benefit, but also to his everlasting glory, and to the long-term benefit of his heirs. Only a complete fool of a monarch would fail to grasp that.

Thus no monarch, for example, would ever be so stupid as to systematically undermine contract rights and the rule of law, or to appoint judges who decide cases based on empathy. Or to impose new taxes on his subjects during a recession, and spend the wealth of his realm on frivolous “stimulus” to achieve a short-term advantage that guarantees penury for future generations. Or to give away the wealth of his subjects to African dictators and illegal aliens or moochers and gangsters. Or to repopulate his realm with Islamic jihadists and savages. Or to attack institutions such as the family, the church and the religion of his subjects (which is normally his own church and religion). Or to deliberately offend his allies and dismantle his country’s military defenses in the face of powerful enemies. –– Because all such measures would diminish his future earnings potential and the value of his estate (kingdom) for himself and for his heirs across the generations.

Finally, I would note that monarchs may be either kings or queens, but they are always members of the royal family. Having lived always in the public eye, the prince or princess would never ascend to the throne as a virtual stranger, much less as a complete “man of mystery” as we have here –– in a monarchy the prince is never a person of unknown background and uncertain loyalties.

    • proreason says:

“the reference to “the boy king” gives him too much credit”

As usual, you are spot on Petronius.

“boy banana-republic dictator” more accurately reflects the attitude of The Moron.

As you no doubt suspect, Ii was using “king” to reflect his unjustifiably arrogant opinion of himself. I think I stole that from Howard anyway.

  12. canary says:

Flession, I’m not accusing just half joking, but a friend of mine upon it in news he was visiting his grandma, joked to me he’ll pull the plug, so he’ll get sympathy right before the election. She also joked watch Bill Clinton get on the UN and that happened. So, I dug and find it strange so many trips by Hillary to Haitte, when what I was looking for was something after he left office that he took a trip there. The news is sure not keeping up with Hillary, and on Obama’s
bow trip, I hardly recognized her, but wondered why the mainstream news is so quiet, especially when Indonesia was on her first tour.

On Michael Jackson, I just know that the next day Fox and most news said that Democrats asked and did a moment of silence, and Republicans walked out. Also, came across an interview on youtube with his brother Jermain that was sooo bizarre on his muslim conversion, and the body guards during the trail were extremist muslims, Jermain acknowledge they were muslim body guards he provided during the trial. (which I’d heard that earlier) and how he hoped Michael would convert for peace. After trial we know he went to live with a rich Shiek in middle-east, when Jackson showed up in London, to try and avoid being served by the Shiek who is suing him for not doing the music he promised, and all the money. Shortly before Michael’s death there was a rift, as this concert was put together by his family. The cancellations was causing rumors in the mainstreamn news, of major tensions between MJ and his family as they were banking on it. His father was in debt too. And only his sister probably has made out with money, as the rest of the family counted on their cash cow. Also, on Fox (maybe Geraldo at large) they did an expose on this same issue. Because the investors had put a 10 million dollar life insurance policy on MJ, and they hired the 24 hour doctor to watch Michael, only two weeks prior to the suspected overdose. Fox mentioned his beatles rights and all, probably get everybit of money they can. And would not surprise me if more lawsuits for money he owed. I just wondered why know one remembers he wanted to be frozen like Walt Disney. Dont’ know if he was keeping up with renting the space, or had it paid allready. lol.
I’ve hardly watched tv since he died, because I figure that’s all that’s on, and think that’s a problem in the world, and why know one even knows what Obama is doing, and our futures.

    • Flession says:

      My bad!

I’m usually quick to catch on to tounge-in-cheek humor, but I blame it on it being 6:30 in the morning for me and working a long night shift :D

    • bronzeprofessor says:

Flession, hey, aren’t you a recent dad? How’s the baby doing?

    • Flession says:

Baby is doing great, actually. He’s growing up super quickly (he’s above average in height…which makes sense, since I’m 6’5″) Eating semi-solid foods and slowly starting to learn how to stand up straight. He’s also learning how to talk and cooes alot (a trait I take it is from my wife’s Hispanic heritage >__>)

Feels great to be a father, I just wish my son wouldn’t have to pay for the crap Lord Barry’s and CO. are pushing thru…

    • jobeth says:

Canary…I’ve been accused of being too suspicious a time or two (saved my butt a few times though!).

But I also thought the timing of grandma’s passing was supicious. If she is gone there is no one alive that can ‘spill any beans” , especially after he throws grandma under the bus by saying she was a bit of a racist.

And of course grandma knows where Obalmy was born.

      Just sayin’

    • bronzeprofessor says:

Awwwwwww, I love hearing baby stories. I still have just the one little girl, 3 yrs old, and my wife has successfully evaded all the tricks to get her pregnant. (At this point she’s just taking the pill each day). So I think I’m going to be a one-child dad for life. :(

You’re 6’5″? Holy cow! That’s huge. You must scare the crap out of people. You need to do security detail at Sarah Palin’s rallies — scare those willowy skinny liberal guy protesters away! I worked security for Sarah in Los Angeles and the protesters were quite a pain in the derriere.

About our kids and the growing debt — it sucks. All we can do is fight for more responsible government. But, quiet as it’s kept, my daughter’s education was part of my decision to join the Army in my 30s; she gets the Montgomery GI Bill since I’ve already finished all my schooling and can designate it to her. That way we don’t have to stress too badly about sending Princess to college.

Well good luck with you soon-to-be looming giant of a son!

  13. canary says:

ProReason, OH DANG PRO. I don’t know if he tells of his grandfather’s death, in his books. I’ve focused more on trying to seek his political beliefs. It makes me sick and I could never read it all. I tried looking, and found more sickening stuff I quoted below. Hopes is such a screen-play he quotes his grandparents before he was even born. Hopes was a 94 book all about him, and for greed, and before thoughts of running for any office. He uses a reverse stereotyping of white. He is bitter on his first trip to Kenya, of the nerve of any white person to sight-see, to including insulting pre-judging of white men, who are in Kenya to help the poor with irragation and Aids. How dare they come to one of his homies. Just as revealing of his true colors, when he made fun of the Special Olympian bowling teams.
I recall and interview with his half-sister born in Indonesia, where she said Obama’s grandmother was unhappy with his Hope book. And it does appear that connections kind of ended at that point, and Obama focused more on his
    fathers’s side of the family.
But, his grandmother making racial slurs during the campaign in defense of his White and Jew hating preacher Wright, I feel are slanderous. He does nothing but describe his grandparents as anti-racist, but he was furious when his grandfather told him, his grandmother was scared to ride the bus, because a black man had taken her money. He was furious that they did just say
a man” scared her. That they described him as “a black man”. And he ran crying to his black communist mentor Frank, who even told him, she had a right to be afraid. Which made him even more feel all alone in the world. He needed to find other’s that disliked white people which he did.
Also, someone posted on S&L about the Unitarian Church his grandmother’s memorial was at, that Obama forgot going to Sunday School and the preacher there reminded him, and he turned to wife and children and says oh yeah., but Obama in one of the books wrote about his grandfather going to that very church there in detail. The church that helped army deserters. He calls his grandfather a story teller and basically a chronic liar. He says his grandfather never saw battle in dreams, but in hope, says he fought and marched in Patton’s army. He says he believes the move to Hawaii had something to do with his white grandfather’s father’s AWOL and a suicide.
Prehaps his grandmother was not capacitated enough to give remark, when he called her a racist to the world, but of the parts I’ve read, nothing is close. They spoiled him rotten.
People, can do bad things and maintain being worshipped by the world.

Dreams 1994 p198-99: Nationalism provided that history, and unambiguouis morality tale that was easily communicated and easily grasped. A steady attack on the white race, the constant recitation of black people’s brutal experience in this country, served as a the ballast that could prevent the ideas of personal and communal responsibilty from tipping into an ocean of despair. Yes, the nationalist would say, whites are responsible fo your sorry state, not any inherent flaws in you. In fact, whites are so heartless and devious that we can no longer expect anything from them. The self-loathing you feel, what keeps you drinking or thieving, is planted by them. Rid them from your mind and find your true power liberated. Rise up, ye might race!
This process of displacement, this means of engaging in self-criticism while removing ourselves from the object of criticism, helped explain the much admired success of the Nation of Islam in turning around the lives of drug addicts and criminals. But if it was especially well suited to those at the bottom rungs of American life, it also spoke to all the continuing doubts of the lawyer who had run hard for the gold ring yet still experienced the awkward silence when walking into a clulbhouse; those young college students who warily measured the distance between them and life on Chicago’s mean streets, with the danger that distance implied;..” barack obama

note, this is throughout the jumbling. Just as he quoted people, before his birth, he is at this point an attorney speaking in present sense, of past before going to law school. And colleges are so jumbled back and forth, there were 3. 2 years Occidental. 4 years NY, and so does that mean 2 years at Harvard?

pg 193: “In college, the politics of black fashion, and the questions of self-esteem that fashion signified, had been a frequent, if delicate, topic of observation for black students, especially among the women, who would smile bitterly at the sight of the militant brother who always seemed to be dating light-skinnned girls – …” barack obama

He doesn’t say which college he dated a white woman, who was madly in love with him, but he dumped her because of his bitterness towards whites. Her parents had invited him to their country home, and looking at her family photo’s it sickened him, and he knew he could never marry a white woman.

Anyways, I think his above statements explains his apologizing to the world and saying how bad America is. And if he could get away with it, he’d be using the White man’s fault.
