Obama Will Cut Temp To Pre-Industrial Times

From an approving Reuters:

U.S. affirms support for U.N. climate goal after criticism

August 8, 2012

OSLO (Reuters) – The United States reaffirmed support for a U.N. goal of limiting global warming after criticism from the European Union and small island states that Washington seemed to be backing away.

"The U.S. continues to support this goal. We have not changed our policy," U.S. climate envoy Todd Stern said in a statement on Wednesday.

Almost 200 nations, including the United States, have agreed to limit rising temperatures to below 2 degrees Celsius (3.6 F) above pre-industrial times to avoid dangerous changes such as floods, droughts and rising sea levels.

Did you know anyone had such powers? But, of course, Obama has said he could even lower the sea levels. (Also note the assumption here that global warming can be fixed. And yet we’re told something as simple as the game of football can’t be fixed.)

By the way, "pre-industrial times" covers a lot of ground. Perhaps we should limit things to 2 degrees above the temperature the world was when the Vikings were growing grapes in Greenland.

The EU Commission, small island states and environmental activists urged the world to stick to the target on Tuesday, fearing that Washington was withdrawing support. Temperatures have already risen by about 0.8 degree C.

Since when? We already know that even the CRU has admitted that the global temperature has not gone up in more than twelve years.

In a speech on August 2, Stern called for a more flexible approach to a new U.N. agreement, meant to be adopted in 2015 after past failures, so that it could be modified over time to take account of new technologies.

"This kind of flexible, evolving legal agreement cannot guarantee that we meet a 2 degree goal, but insisting on a structure that would guarantee such a goal will only lead to deadlock," he said in the speech.

In a clarification, Stern said that "my view is that a more flexible approach will give us a better chance to actually conclude an effective new agreement and meet the goal we all share." …

Note the heavy use of the word "flexible." Remember how Obama promised Vladimir Putin he would be able to be more flexible after he won re-election.

Many scientists say the 2 degrees target is getting out of reach because of rising emissions, mainly from burning fossil fuels.

Emissions of carbon dioxide, the main greenhouse gas, rose 3.1 percent in 2011 to a record high. The decade ending in 2010 was the warmest since records began in the mid-19th century, U.N. data show.

And yet even the CRU says there has been no warming over the last 12 to 15 years. In fact, most climate scientists have been trying to figure out where all the global warming went.

Still, who can deny that Obama is doing his part to curtail emissions, by slowing down the economy to near recession levels and choking off our energy supplies and raising the price of gas and electricity?

Speaking of which, from CNN’s Money.Com:

Gas prices climb 30 cents a gallon

By Steve Hargreaves | Tuesday August 7, 2012

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) — Gas prices continued their slow but steady march higher Tuesday, surpassing a nationwide average of $3.63 cents a gallon on the back of refinery problems in the United States and higher crude oil prices globally.

Nationwide average gasoline prices are now 30 cents higher than they were just five weeks ago. They are now at the midway mark between this year’s high price of $3.94 a gallon — hit April 5 — and the recent low of $3.33 hit just over five weeks ago, according to AAA.

By this weekend, gasoline prices will likely be higher than they were a year ago at this time, according to Tom Kloza, chief oil analyst at the Oil Price Information Service…

Isn’t it odd how little media attention this is getting, even though we are in an election year?

Lest we forget, under Bush, the slightest increase in gas prices were reported like the second coming of Britney Spears.

Ask yourself, does Obama truly believe that he can deem the mean temperature of the Earth in the same way he deemed 20 million ilegals… NOT. If so, he is even more delusional that even I thought. But if he is running on pure delusion, then why does he keep making excuses for mere mortal problems like the economy? If he can deem the sea levels, why can’t he deem Europe into prosperity so that our economy could catch a tail wind rather than all these headwinds we’ve been navigating against for the last four years? And if European headwinds are the reason our economy sucks, then why doesn’t Obama just wave his hand and change the direction of the wind? If the temperature can be determined by loony lefty eco-freaks saying boo, then why isn’t the current drought situation Obama’s fault? Why doesn’t he drag his sorry ass out into a field somewhere and make it rain?

Now ask yourself, if Captain Ears doesn’t really believe he can do all these things, then why is crushing our country under eco restrictions that will do nothing about the weather, but will eventually, by all accounts, destroy prosperity in America? The only answer is that he wants to destroy America as we know it, and he’ll say anything to make it happen. His goal is the end of America, and that end justifies any means.

The only thing that makes me sicker than this Rasputin in our midst, is all the mindless idiots out there who believe in him. (A testiment to the American educational system… or at least the products of it who are just too damned dumb to know any better)

So, Obama is now a god?

This is a slow pitch across the plate. R & crew should use this and mock O relentlessly

Not sure how to edit: This may not be the nicest, friendliest way to be …. but this is war, Chicago style, Alinsky style and they need to go balls out or they will be crushed.
Obviously, truth, employment numbers, failed ‘job plans’ etc…have no impact on what many people think of Obama.

I keep hoping Republicans will GET A CLUE that campaigning is about emotional punch, not statistics, not reasoning, not Our Guy’s Better Than Your Guy. But Iain’t holding my breath.

Obamma must be defeated. Many from our side must be defeated in time. And, global warming is made up of mythology for the most part.**

  5. JohnMG says:

Hmmm. Pre-industrial times? You mean, like when we had slaves doing the work instead of machines?

Certainly not ‘black’ slaves. Maybe ‘white’ ones this time around. All in the interest of fairness, of course.

Rhetorical question: Is the world totally populated with idiots? Or just socialists and Democrats?

Ask yourself… does Obama truly believe that he and his minions can deem the mean temperature of the Earth? If he does believe it, then he is more delusional that even I thought possible. But let’s, for the sake of argument, say that Obama believes that he can lower sea levels, lower rising (not so much actually rising exactly) temperatures, and bring the weather into compliance like so many Obamatons drooling at his feet. Then explain why the problems of mere mortals (the economy, unemployment, war, Iranian nukes, Syria, North Korea, etc. ad nauseum) seem to be totally beyond his control. For someone who can, by sheer force of will, change the global weather, the mere economy would seem to be child’s play. It’s Bush’s fault? You mean Bush, almost 4 years out of office, still has the power to affect the world beyond Obie’s power to overcome? Blasphemy! If our economy is bad because of the “headwinds” brought on by European economies crashing like so many dominoes, then why can’t Obama raise his arms to the universe and change the headwinds into tailwinds? Why then isn’t the current drought situation across America Obama’s fault? They blamed Bush for hurricanes, so why not? Why hasn’t he dragged his sorry butt out into a dry field somewhere in the midwest and made it rain?

Now, if Captain ears doesn’t believe in his superior power to change the weather, then explain why he has taken it upon himself to destroy American business with crushing legislation, the highest tax rates in the world, and the cooperation of a bunch of eco-freaky wierdos running the EPA? What’s in it for Obama? The answer is simple. The destruction of America as we know it is the goal. And because Obama’s ends seem to justify any means necessary, he will say and do anything… ANYTHING to hold onto his power and to finish the destruction of our way of life. If Obama wants to destroy America, he couldn’t be doing anything any differently to make it happen any faster. If he could, he surely would.
