Obama: World Must Stand Up To N Korea

From a memory deficient Associated Press:

Obama: N. Korea ‘recklessly challenging’ the world

By Merrill Hartson, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama assailed North Korea Monday for new missile tests, saying the world must "stand up to" Pyongyang and demand that it honor a promise to abandon it nuclear ambitions.

Appearing on the White House steps, Obama said that its latest nuclear underground test and subsequent test firings of short-range ground to air missiles "pose a grave threat to the peace and security of the world and I strongly condemn their reckless action."

It was his second statement within hours on the tests, the latest in a number of nuclear actions that Obama said "endanger the people of Northeast Asia." He called it "a blatant violation of international law" and said that it contradicted North Korea’s "own prior commitments." Obama had released a written statement chastising the North Koreans in the early morning hours of Monday.

In his statement before cameras and microphones arrayed in the White House Rose Garden at mid-morning, he noted that the latest tests had also been denounced by China and Russia and had drawn the scorn of many around the world. Pyongyang’s actions "have flown in the face of U.N. resolutions" and had deepened its isolation, he said, "inviting stronger international pressure."

"North Korea will not find security and respect through threats and illegal weapons," the president said. "We will work with our friends and allies to stand up to this behavior. The United States will never waver from our determination to protect our people and the peace and security of the world." …

In his statement Monday, Obama noted that North Korea had "conducted a nuclear test in violation of international law."

"It appears to also have attempted a short range missile launch," the president said in his statement. "These actions, while not a surprise given its statements and actions to date, are a matter of grave concern to all nations. North Korea’s attempts to develop nuclear weapons, as well as its ballistic missile program, constitute a threat to international peace and security."

"By acting in blatant defiance of the United Nations Security Council," he said, "North Korea is directly and recklessly challenging the international community. North Korea’s behavior increases tensions and undermines stability in Northeast Asia."

"Such provocations will only serve to deepen North Korea’s isolation. It will not find international acceptance unless it abandons its pursuit of weapons of mass destruction and their means of delivery." …

This once again smacks of Mr. Obama’s earlier response to North Korea’s nuclear program that we noted back in April.

Back then he said that we needed a ‘global regime’ to deal with them:

"North Korea broke the rules once again by testing a rocket that could be used for a long range missiles. This provocation underscores the need for action — not just this afternoon at the UN Security Council, but in our determination to prevent the spread of these weapons. Rules must be binding. Violations must be punished. Words must mean something. The world must stand together to prevent the spread of these weapons. Now is the time for a strong international response. And North Korea must know that the path to security and respect will never come through threats and illegal weapons. All nations must come together to build a stronger, global regime. That’s why we must stand shoulder to shoulder to pressure the North Koreans to change course.”

The world must stand up to North Korea, because heaven knows, the United States won’t. Not under Mr. Obama.

Pyongyang’s actions "have flown in the face of U.N. resolutions" …

It is to laugh.

Apparently Mr. Obama chooses not to remember that once upon a time Iraq, too, flew in the face of UN resolutions. And he had no problems whatsoever with that.

It’s thanks to folks like Mr. Obama and his fellow Democrats that the North Koreans feel they can act with such impunity.

REALLY? By doing what, Mr. O? Depriving them of kool-aid at snack time? Smacking them on the back of the hand? Giving them an “F” on their conduct report? Yeah, that’ll teach ’em.

This just in from the ProReason Press.

(pp): May 25, 2009. President Obama took time out of his busy Memorial Day schedule of hoops, hotdogs, and Havanas to issue his third consecutive rebuke of Kim Jong I’ll, the beloved renegade leader of North Korea, following that country’s surprise test of a nuclear device, despite the poignant plea from the U.S. Secretary of State to refrain from the continuation of Mr Jong I’ll’s peaceful nuclear program.

Mr. Obama, in his harhest condomnation yet, declared that unless the dimunitive scamp desists, immediately or sometime in the future, from conducting peaceful tests, then Mr. Obama will personally draw a circle on a blackboard and nicely ask Mr Jong I’ll to stand with his nose in the circle.

Said Mr. Obama, between bites of his hot dog, “I know it’s um, uh harsh, but my Attorney General has personally reviewed the precedents on constitutional presidents on this matter, and we are confidential, uh confident that these measures are un, um, uh constitutional while remaining suitably empathetic to the North Korean people and their distinguished leader. And while this bloated attempt by Mr. Jong I’ll, who I respect greatly, is not my fault, I, as Commander in Chief, have decided to take this direct action in the um hope and expectation that Mr. Jong I’ll, who I respect greatly, will change his behaviour.”

Mr. Obama was wearing a tight fitting knit shirt that unashamedly displayed his burnished biceps and smooth but rippling stomach muscles. As he walked away, his buttocks rhythmically oscillated in a tantalizing but dignified rhumba-like motion that gave this reporter at least the feeling that the matter may soon come to a head.

      So here’s the picture:

“OK, Kim! Or Jong! Or Ill! Whatever. You better stop acting like a bully , ’cause if you don’t I’m gonna do away with all our missles an’ cancel our new joint strike fighter program. Then I’ll dismantle our missle defense program and reduce the size of our military. Then we’re goin’ to the parking lot and settle this mano-a-mano. Whatta you say to that?”

“Balack Obama, you make me velly, velly scare. I now ha’ new respek fo’ you as wul leader. Give you fitting No’ Korean name match yo’ chalakter. You now now’n as Wun Dum Fawk all ova my contry. You like ha’ tea now? We tok?

I must apologize for the mis-spelling in my previous post. After consulting my Korean/English dictionary it must be corrected to Wun Dum Phuc.

Thank you for your indulgence in this serious matter.

TCO has a plan; he’ll challenge the little twerp from N. Korea to a basketball tournament, winner take all.
With TCO’s height, he figures that defeating Kim will be a walk in the park, and the world will see that the U.S. is nothing to be trifled with.

    • JohnMG says:

…..”he’ll challenge the little twerp from N. Korea to a basketball tournament….”

With one arm tied behind his back, too! I’ll bet Kim would waddle really funnily with one arm tied behind his back, not to mention how hard a two-handed set shot will be.

Kim should ask for a battle of wits instead. He’d stand a better chance, being as ‘the Won’ would be un-armed. Just like Wee Gee would be in the basketball game.

    • Rusty Shackleford says:

Well, in reality, Blammo would beat him down with speech after speech. And, after the room falls apart with thunderous laughter after the democrats hear Kim Jong Ill say the word “teleprompter” a couple of times, there would no longer even be a contest.

Kim Jong Ill: “OK OK….I stop with the nukes…..Just shuttup already. You give me headache”

  6. serfer62 says:

    Harsh letter to follow…

  7. Rusty Shackleford says:

Kim Jong Ill and Barack Obama were standing on a bridge over a river, both taking a leak.

“Man”, said Obama, smirking, “This water is cold….and deep….”

Kim Jong Ill, not skipping a beat, didn’t even turn to look at Barry but simply said, “Hey, stupit….I got new-cra missir aim at velly impotan prace you not no bowt. Ha you rike dem appers? Stupit round-eye”.

And so went the first (and only) Korean/American nuclear disarmament talks.

Prepare for the next profound proclamation from our idiot C-in-C.
“If this keeps up, somebody’s gonna be sorry!”

Once again he will position himself for an open interpretation of what he says. And it’ll all be Bush’s fault, too. What I find intriguing is that he campaigned for over two years to get the job he now has, telling us all how inept Bush was, yet all he’s done is complain about how hard it is. Hey, smartass, you were the one with all the answers. Now you’ve got the job, so do something constructive with it, asshole. That is, if you know how!
