I built a potato gun a while back that worked really well. Unfortunately, I decided to go with “Freedom Fries” as the preferred round and now I can’t get ammo for it anymore!

Survivable at least (you’d probably wind up being sent to a “mash” unit).

sj; I guess I should have gone solar, too. Instead, I opted for hydro-power for my bicycle, and there are some severe limitations. Aside from evaporation during summer, and sluggish performance during freezing weather, it is a short-range proposition. The cost and weight of the hose for long distance travel are both prohibitive.

You didn’t mention the size of your battery, however.

Oddly enough, we had the potato-gun/french fries discussion at work the other day (I really love Manitoba). We finally determined that french fries would be considered a canister round.

Professor….go with depleted uranium for your core, titanium doesnt weigh enough for the kinetic energy penetration quotient you are seeking for a higher lethality ratio.

That includes so-called potato guns (adding a whole new meaning to the term “fast food”).
Oddly enough, you can buy any flintlock without showing your Possession and Acquisition Licence – or registering it.

And I’m just curious. Were you planning on using your own ‘personal magnetism’ as the motive force of your new invention? ;-}

Prof: That’s wayyyy out of my league. Best I can suggest is a good old fashioned shovel.
Buy a firearm (or 2 or 12) while you can still do so without the transaction being recorded. Buy appropriate ammunition for it/them (before that can be recorded -as an aside, criminals north of the border look at the ammo registry books to see who’s buying pistol-calibre ammo…then they know whose house to B&E).
Employ said shovel and bury a/m purchases (suitably wrapped) until such time as they are (God forbid) needed.

But then, I’m not thinking clearly after being “hosed” like that. Now with the ‘drip’ we have for a president-elect, I suppose all of auntie’s transgressions will be ‘flushed’ from the public consciousness in an effort to ‘drain’ away any residual animosities when such mal-contents ‘pop off’ while ‘venting’ their anger publicly. No effort will be spared in an attempt to ‘augur’ for fairness. The masses will be ‘galvanized’ to action. ;-}
