Obama’s Hatred Of US Is Premise Of Conspiracies

From the Atlantic Wire:

The One Simple Premise at the Root of Every Obama Conspiracy

By Elspeth Reeve and Philip Bump | Sep 13, 2013

Lest we forget, Elspeth Reeve is the woman who is notorious for having been fired from her job as a fact checker at the New Republic. She was caught helping her boyfriend make up horror stories about US atrocities in the war in Iraq. All of which turned out to be Kerry-esque fantasies.

President Obama’s pitch for a military strike in Syria looked so politically clueless that he left supporters and foes alike scratching their heads: What was he thinking? For some, the answer was obvious. Because every conspiracy theory ever concocted about the President —  from him being a secret Muslim agent sent from Kenya to take over the government to gay-sex-and-cocaine binges in the backseats of limousines — all make perfect sense if you simply accept the foundational supposition that Obama hates America.

Why is it difficult for anyone to believe that Obama “hates America"? Practically every figure who had a significant influence in his seems to have despised the US to one extent or the other. The miracle would be if he did not hate America. At least on some level.

Nobody who loves America would have attended Jeremiah Wright’s Church of for 23 years. Nobody who loves American would set out to "fundamentally transform" America. You don’t promise to do that if you love America the way it is.

In a Wall Street Journal op-ed on Sunday, Norman Podhoretz argued that Syria showed the swift collapse of American global influence, which was all part of Obama’s plan."His foreign policy, far from a dismal failure, is a brilliant success as measured by what he intended all along to accomplish," Podhoretz wrote. This international success follows Obama’s great domestic success, which he concealed by "singing the praises of the free-enterprise system he was assiduously working to undermine." On Monday, Rush Limbaugh picked up this idea and ran with it.

As usual, Ms. Reeve has her facts wrong. Mr. Limbaugh was pointing out how Mr. Podhoretz was embracing the ‘Limbaugh Theorem.’

"[Obama's] always able to convince people he’s trying to build this country, he’s trying to save this country, trying to revitalize it, while he’s doing just the exact opposite," Limbaugh said. By Thursday, Limbaugh was linking the Syria controversy to every other piece of the Obama agenda. Americans are "so appalled and opposed to Obamacare, Obama’s economic policies, amnesty, illegal immigration with impunity," Limbaugh said, "because it is a direct assault on the very foundation and fundamentals of the creation and the founding of this country."

Tying Obama’s diplomatic embarrassment to all his other policies is easy, because all Obama conspiracy theories rest on the same idea. That Obama is a secret Muslim, or a secret Kenyan, or a religion-hating atheist, or a black radical, are all attempts to explain why Obama hates America so much.

None of those are necessary to explain why Obama might hate America.

The anti-Americanism of the president of the United States is accepted as fact. All the theories — from the mainstream, like Obamacare is a socialist takeover, to the fringe, like Obama saluted the flag with his crotch — rest on this premise…

Some of these conspiracy theories are more familiar than others. You’ve probably heard about the New Black Panther Party — a small group that was accused of voter intimidation in 2008, which some theorists think Obama refused to prosecute for nefarious reasons.

So that is now a conspiracy theory? Obama and Holder did prosecute the New Black Panthers? Who knew?

But if you are the regular recipients of right-wing email forwards (lucky us!) there are so, so many others you might not have heard of, such as:

Obama’s crotch salute. A photo supposedly show a group of people putting their hands over their hearts during the national anthem, while Obama keeps his hands clasped together over his crotch. "One would expect Obama to pretend to love his country and respect his office at least until after the election," the blog Tea Party at Perrysburg wrote last year. "He should have to explain to the voters why he refuses to salute the flag. What an embarrassment!" (The photo was taken during "Hail to the Chief."

Stevens was supposed to be kidnapped. What happened in Benghazi? One conspiracy theory is that Obama colluded with terrorists to stage Ambassador Chris Stevens’s kidnapping in Benghazi. Obama plotted to then arrange a prisoner exchange with the terrorists for the Blind Sheikh — an October surprise that would win him the 2012 election. But the kidnapping went wrong, the theory goes

Gay sex. A couple authors claim Obama had a gay lover and murdered him. Obama hid his true sexuality to become president, they claim. This was hidden by the media, who did not "vet" Obama in 2008

And this has what to do with Obama’s hatred of the US?

Latino vote. Obama and Democrats support an immigration overhaul to bring in tons more Latino voters, who tend to vote Democratic, and keep them Democrats by making them dependent on the welfare state.

Ms. Reeve’s list of conspiracies is pretty bizarre in itself. She seems to think Benghazi is conspiracy theory. Even though it actually happened. She claims that viewing amnesty as a way to get more Democrat votes is a conspiracy theory. Even though top Democrats have talked about it in those terms.

Conspiracy Theories. Yes, you cannot prove them. You can take efforts to dis-prove them. However, I have not seen solid efforts on behalf of this administration to disprove any of them.
Lets look at foreign policy (or lack there of): We spent quite a bit of blood and treasure to gain a friendly government in Iraq. If you look at a historical example of an alliance that has worked well – look at the occupations of Germany and Japan. Both countries were our enemies at one time and have become some of our most important allies and trading partners. Why is this? to this day we STILL have military bases in both countries. If we had kept our Soldiers in Iraq – we would have a staging area for rapid response within the region. We would have a deterrence to power struggles within the region. We would not be holding a bag for of excrement that Russia has decided that we should hold. Ahem, I believe Syria borders a certain country that we did have a LOT of military power in back before 2011. But bc somebody has not clue of how alliances are kept, BC somebody has NEVER been out beyond the streetlights facing the dark. That CINC decided to remove our oh so heavy boot from the region so that all the fuzzy bunny slipper wearing idealists within his administration could feel good about the peace he was bringing to the region.
Abandoning a hard fought for fort or hill in Vietnam and Korea did not work as a tactical strategy. What the heck makes him think it will work as a strategic political strategy? Now we have the “great awakening” – every extremist in sight wants a piece of this pie. You do NOT negotiate from a position of weakness; unless you are surrendering. Example of a Historical note: Vietnam, Bataan. This CINC has been one of the worst failures for longterm strategic diplomacy we have had since Slick Willy was CINC. If you do not recall – slick willy sent the military to back up the dayton peace accords – supposedly to help all sides stop killing each other. One of those sides was Islamic. We were “rewarded” for our efforts blood and treasure on that wonderful call with the killing of 3000 civilians at the WTC/5 agon within LESS than 6 years. Liberals have no CLUE in how to protect Americans and our way of life.

Passing herself off as a journalist is the biggest conspiracy of them all.

To most libtards if the truth doesn’t fit their preconceived notions of how thing should be it’s nothing but a right wing lie. That’s what happens when you think with your heart and not your head.

    keeping with music Monday Themes,
    (Scarecrow)
I could wile away the hours
    Conferrin’ with the flowers
    Consultin’ with the rain
And my head I’d be scratchin’
While my thoughts were busy hatchin’
If I only had a brain

    I’d unravel any riddle
    For any individ’le
    In trouble or in pain

    (Dorothy)
With the thoughts you’d be thinkin’
    You could be another Lincoln
If you only had a brain

    (Scarecrow)
Oh, I would tell you why
    The ocean’s near the shore
I could think of things I never thunk before
And then I’d sit and think some more

I would not be just a nuffin’
My head all full of stuffin’
My heart all full of pain
I would dance and be merry
    Life would be a ding-a-derry
If I only had a brain
