Obama’s Illegal Alien Aunt Zeituni Is Dead At 61

From a tear-soaked Associated Press:

Obama aunt who stayed in US illegally dies at 61

By DENISE LAVOIE | April 8, 2014

BOSTON (AP) — President Barack Obama’s aunt Zeituni Onyango, who was denied asylum in the United States but stayed illegally for years, died Tuesday at age 61.

Note how the AP skips over the minor detail that Aunt Zeituni was living in public housing, on welfare, and getting taxpayer funded operations. Despite judges having ordered her to be deported twice. And it is a felony to ignore deportation orders.

Onyango, whose immigration status was reported by The Associated Press days before Obama’s election in 2008, had been treated in recent months for cancer and respiratory problems, Cleveland attorney Margaret Wong said. She died in a Boston rehabilitation center, said Wong, who represented her in her immigration case.

Actually, it was the UK’s Times that found Aunt Zeituni. The Times searched for her and ‘Uncle Omar’ for months, after reading about them in ‘Dreams From My Father.’

Our stateside news media had very little interest in the story. Apart from trying to claim that it was some kind of sinister plot by the Republicans to discredit Obama right before the elections.

Onyango, a half-sister of Obama’s late father, moved from Kenya to the U.S. in 2000 and was denied asylum by an immigration judge in 2004. She remained in the country illegally, living in Boston public housing.

Again, she was ordered to be deported several times, which she ignored. Which is a felony.

She finally was granted asylum in 2010 by a judge who said she could be in danger if she returned to Kenya because of her relationship with Obama…

Which was laughable lie. In 2010, Mr. Obama’s cousin, Raila Amollo Odinga, was the Prime Minister of Kenya. Mr. Odinga is the son of the first Vice President of Kenya, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga. His brother, Oburu Odinga, was and still is a Member of Parliament.

"She was an awesome, funny, shrewd, smart lady born at the wrong place at the wrong time," Wong said…

She certainly was shrewd. She was able to get public housing and welfare and free medical treatment from the US taxpayers for decades, despite being an illegal alien. And she was able to beat deportation numerous times thanks to her very expensive immigration lawyer, Ms. Wong. (Who Uncle Omar also used.)

Wong said Onyango had become ill in January and died early Tuesday morning in her sleep.

The White House, which had no immediate reaction to Onyango’s death on Tuesday, had said previously that Obama did not intervene in her immigration case…

He didn’t have to. There are Obama-ites everywhere. Especially in the courts.

I’m sure Organizing for nerobama will use this as the subject of another fundraising email. I can’t imagine a legitimate purpose for a lame-duck president to do so much fundraising.

I will not be attending the funeral but I have sent a letter to Obama expressing my approval of it.
