Occupiers Plotted to Blow Up GOP Convention

From ABC News:

Anarchists Wanted to Attack NATO, Republican Convention: Feds

By JASON RYAN
May 1, 2012

A gang of anarchists arrested for allegedly plotting to blow up a Cleveland, Ohio bridge also talked about attacking an upcoming NATO summit in Chicago and this summer’s Republican National Convention in Florida, according to authorities.

For some odd reason very few mainstream media reports have noted that the Republican National Convention was one of their targets. Probably for the same reason that so many of the early reports described these ‘anarchists’ as right wingers.

But notice that even this ABC report does not mention that a least two of these would-be terrorists have been directly connected to Occupy Wall Street movement. In fact, they wrote about their participation in Occupy Cleveland on their Facebook pages.

And now even ‘Occupy Cleveland’ has publicly admitted their connection. (See below.) But ABC News and the rest of our one party media are doing their best to ignore that inconvenient truth.

Douglas Wright, 26, Brandon Baxter, 20, and Anthony Hayne, 35, all self-described anarchists, have been charged with conspiracy and attempted use of explosive materials to damage physical property affecting interstate commerce. Two other men Conner Stevens, 20 and Joshua Stafford, 23 were also arrested and may face similar charges.

According to the criminal complaint, last October the men began discussing plans to knock bank signs off of buildings in Cleveland. The men allegedly discussed the idea of using smoke grenades on the Veterans Memorial Bridge in Cleveland to create a diversion while they carried out their plan to topple the bank signs.

Wright, the alleged ringleader, also allegedly discussed trying to recruit homeless people from shelters to carry out his plans to attack symbols of corporate and financial institutions.

This is pretty much what the Taliban and Al Qaeda do, too.

The men were identified after a paid FBI informant alerted the FBI to their alleged plans to target the Brecksville-Northfield High Level Bridge on Route 82, which spans the Cuyahoga River south of Cleveland.

You can already hear the cries of ‘entrapment’ from the ACLU and the other terrorist enablers.

According to the complaint, the FBI informant recorded numerous conversations with Wright in which he discussed the need to obtain explosive devices or make them using the book "The Anarchist Cookbook."

Brandon Baxter allegedly told the informant that destroying a bridge would cause great financial harm. "Taking out a Bridge [sic] in the business district would cost the … corporate big wigs a lot of money," Baxter allegedly said.

They must not have been economics majors.

Wright and Baxter also discussed trying to blow up the Federal Reserve Bank in Cleveland, as well as attacking a new casino in the city, a NATO summit in Chicago and the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida, according to the complaint.

So the RNC Convention is mentioned in the complaint, but it doesn’t warrant being reported by the mainstream media?

The FBI said they used the informant to facilitate the men getting C4 explosives that they would use to target the bridge. According to the criminal complaint Stevens and Stafford were recruited towards the end of their planning to help them execute the attack. The men were arrested as they allegedly arranged to pick up the explosives.

"The complaint in this case alleges that the defendants took specific and defined actions to further a terrorist plot," said U.S. Attorney Steven Dettelbach. "The defendants stand charged based not upon any words or beliefs they might espouse, but based upon their own plans and actions."

Well, ‘Big Sis’ Napolitano warned us about domestic terrorists. Of course, she warned us about deranged ex-military right wingers. Not loveable anti-capitalist peacenik lefties.

By the way, Occupy Cleveland has released an ‘official statement’ on these would-be mass murders:

Occupy Cleveland Releases Official Statement on Anarchist Wannabe Bridge Bombers

May 1, 2012

While the group arrested Monday evening by the FBI were associated with Occupy Cleveland they were in no way representing or acting on behalf of Occupy Cleveland or the event that was planned for later today at the GE Lighting building.

The May Day Event that was sponsored by Occupy Cleveland, the North Shore AFL-CIO, Cleveland Jobs with Justice, Fight for a Fair Economy and SEIU Local 1 has been cancelled because of the alleged actions of the autonomous group arrested last night. Occupy Cleveland has had affirmed principles of non-violence since its inception on October 6, 2011.

— The statement was signed by Messrs Jacob Wagner and Peter Schanz.

Because, after all, union thugs would never use violence to get their way.

By the way, who do you think would be hired to rebuild all those blown up bridges?

    Seriously –

When the government and media act to prevent blowback on such spirits and go slightly insane when people like you and me call for their elimination from decent society, know what eventually happens?

At some point after the fever and the disease and the near death experience of that polity, these people you and I despise end up on the long end of a rope and in ditches and under the ground. Those of us who live through the ruin of a nation finally do eliminate them.

The government and the media – for reasons completely nuts – insist we must first pass through the Nation-Destruct Phase before this end result.

    But it will happen.

    It always does.

“…using explosive materials to damage property affecting interstate commerce.” Why didn’t they just say “attempted to create a man-made disaster? That would have been commensurate with the ideology of the current regime.

Did anyone take into consideration that there might have been PEOPLE on that bridge when these morons attempted to create a negative affect on interstate commerce? If there were any justice other than the slanted social kind in America any more, the first charges would have been terrorism, treason, insurrection, or at the very least attempted mass murder. Affecting interstate commerce? Give me a break.

But the problem is not only that our justice system has been destroyed by the political marionettes running the show, but that these purveyors of “anarchy”, these 1%ers, didn’t do anything wrong in the eyes of this regime. It was just bad timing. Fortunately for them, the media will do everything they can to cover their trail. So it begins.

There’s just one thing I don’t understand. If they truly want anarchy, and if they were actually to achieve it, how would these 21st century purveyors of fairness function without facebook, twitter, and their mommys?

How many people won’t hear about this case because the media doesn’t want to expose anarchist commies to public scrutiny. God forbid someone does something who can be pigeonholed as a conservative (Jarod Loughner) – or a white (Zimmerman) – despite abundant evidence to the contrary.
