‘Occupy’ Protesters Shout Down Bachmann

From a chortling Reuters:

S.C. protesters disrupt Michele Bachmann speech

MOUNT PLEASANT, South Carolina (Reuters) – Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann was about 10 minutes into a foreign policy speech in South Carolina on Thursday when she was drowned out by the shouting of protesters.

About 30 people rose in unison and began shouting a scripted message during Bachmann’s address aboard the USS Yorktown, a World War Two aircraft carrier.

This is what hypocrisy looks like.

The group, which later identified itself as being part of Occupy Charleston, accused Bachmann of "dividing Americans" and promoting discrimination.

"You cater to the 1 percent," they yelled.

Being, apparently, blissfully ignorant of the meaning of the terms "dividing Americans" or "discrimination," since they are happily doing both.

Bachmann stopped speaking and was escorted from the stage by law enforcement officers. After about three minutes, the protesters shouted: "Have a pleasant day," and marched out chanting "We are the 99 percent."

These people may be unwashed, but they are not the unwashed masses. They are the fringe of the fringe.

"We’re Americans criticizing her. We’re just getting our voices heard," said a young woman who wouldn’t give her name. "She’s getting her voice heard. Why can’t I have my voice heard?"

So sayeth a woman who was chanting a scripted message that was written for her. Probably by MoveOn.org or another Soros/DNC front or a union.

This is what mobocracy looks like. This is what stupidity looks like

Bachmann, a U.S. congresswoman from Minnesota, quickly returned to finish her speech

Which must have ticked off the proponents of democracy and, of course, the news media.

Amazing! Some of them can actually read! Of
course, that means they have to have their thoughts
pre-planned or they’re lost. Probably scored lower on
civility, though. I’ts remarkable that they’re so dumb that
waiting to see if Ms Bachman would come back was beyond
their cognizance. It must be frightning to have a brain and not to
use it themselves. I guess that’s too much like work, though. Let’s
see, wasn’t this a bit like a micrcosim of Munich 1938?

This is the ‘progressive’ agenda according to Saul Alinsky’s Rules For Radicals; essentially the Stalinist/Marxist game plan for destroying free societies by using mob action.

Create chaos, break down rational discourse, isolate and ridicule all opponents, seize control.

If Americans have any integrity left they will see through this and repudiate it. If not, they don’t deserve a free republic, free markets, or any freedom at all.

1st Amendment only applies to them. We, on the other hand, have the 2nd Amendment.

Aside from incidents like this where the occupy folks wander off the reservation, I’m starting to like the occupy groups. We should move them to some land, out of the way, where they can stay, permanently. At the rate they are killing themselves and each other, sharing deadly diseases, and spreading VD to each other (which can cause sterility), they stand to do a great service to the gene pool.

Their logic seems a bit inconsistent. I would assume promoting discrimination would have to do with homosexuals. Considering homosexuals represent a tiny fraction of the citizens (say 1%) isn’t she supporting the 99%?

” the USS Yorktown, a World War Two aircraft carrier…” Sigh. There was a time when no one would have required that information; everyone would have known that. They would also have known that this ship is named after another Yorktown, which was sunk at the Battle of Midway. They would have known what the Battle of Midway was too…

    • JohnMG says:

      World War II?????? Whaaa……..?

    • artboyusa says:

Hi John. I wondered about that too but I checked it out on the world wide interweb and that’s what it told me and the interweb never lies. Apparently, the current ship, CV-10, was commissioned in 1943, earned 11 battle stars in the Pacific and, among other things, was used in the movie ‘Tora! Tora! Tora!” (which I didn’t think was a very good film until I saw ‘Pearl Harbor’, which made ‘TTT’ look like a masterpiece of world cinema).

CBS joined the ‘squelch Bachmann’ movement too apparently at Saturday’s debate: http://theothermccain.com/2011/11/14/it-aint-whining-if-the-bias-is-real/

“The e-mail said that Mrs. Bachmann was ‘not going to get many questions’ in the debate and that ‘she’s nearly off the charts’ — an apparent reference to her low standing in many polls. The problem was that Mrs. Bachmann’s communications director was copied in on the e-mail, and Mr. Dickerson hit ‘reply to all.'”

It’s like Conservative women aren’t to be allowed to speak or something.

Steve’s infamous line: “What media bias?”

  8. canary says:

The EPA is now studying the OWS protests to see how much pubic area is needed for protests in order to for freedom to protest.

In other words….”Land grabbing” private property in order for people to hold social events
and protests and not just to widen streets or protect a “ditch of water” as
a protected wetland so mosquitoes breed.
