O’Malley Worries Conservatives Will Hurt Illegal Alien Kids

From the Politico:

Martin O’Malley: Don’t send border children to Maryland facility

By EDWARD-ISAAC DOVERE | July 15, 2014

Martin O’Malley says that deporting the children detained at the border would be sending them to “certain death” — but he also urged the White House not to send them to a facility in his own state.

Hilarious. We suspect Mr. O’Malley saw that his previous comments didn’t poll too well.

Hours after the Maryland governor and prospective 2016 presidential candidate became the most prominent Democrat to criticize the White House on the issue, Domestic Policy Director Cecilia Muñoz [sic] called O’Malley to complain.

When did O’Malley criticize Obama? We didn’t know he was a racist.

Anyway, notice that as soon as any Democrat criticizes Obama they get taken to the ‘Corey Booker Memorial Woodshed.’

But before they hung up, O’Malley told Muñoz not to send any of the children to the facility in Westminster, Md., that the White House was looking at. It’s a conservative part of the state, he warned. The children were at risk of getting harassed, or worse, he said…

Oh, so O’Malley is blaming hateful conservatives. Now it all makes sense. Well, why not send them to Annapolis, where Mr. O’Malley lives?

White House aides confirmed the Friday conversation but declined further comment. But O’Malley aides say he’s been trying to find an alternative to the Western Maryland location, and there’s already one possibility at the preliminary stages of the process.

“We are working as quickly as possible to determine if that facility can be licensed, if the federal government wants to use that site,” said a senior O’Malley administration official. That site isn’t in Baltimore, the official said, but that doesn’t mean Baltimore is off-limits in the future…

Baltimore ‘should be off the table’ if Mr. O’Malley objects to sending these kids to their certain death.

Meanwhile, from Reuters:

L.A. mayor welcomes undocumented kids in need of temporary refuge

By Steve Gorman | July 15, 2014

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said on Tuesday he is working with local charities to find temporary refuge for some of the Central American children caught illegally entering the United States even as politicians elsewhere publicly declare them unwelcome.

What a hero. Mr. Garcetti is clearly Presidential timber. How many of these illegals is he going to take into his own home?

Garcetti said the U.S. Health and Human Services Department recently contacted him seeking assistance in its efforts to place such undocumented minors in temporary shelters while they await further immigration or deportation proceedings…

Yes, we must put these children in the houses of perfect strangers while we wait to give them hearings as to whether they have been the victims of sex traffickers. It makes perfect sense.

The subject arose at a forum hosted by Politico Magazine, where Garcetti was asked whether Los Angeles, the nation’s second-most populous city, would be willing to accept any of the youngsters on a temporary basis.

"We are going to. We’ve already talked to HHS," he said, adding, "These are children." "As a father, who are we as Americans if we don’t step forward first and say, ‘these kids who are isolated, alone … let’s get them someplace safe and secure,’" he said…

And what could be more ‘safe and secure’ than turning these children over to complete strangers or illegal aliens who claim they are their relatives — without any background checks?

In one, small way this may all be beneficial.

With all that’s going on, the cloaked socialists are now revealing themselves and lately, I’ve noticed a revitalization of the term “socialist” to the degree that people are wanting to understand what, exactly, that means.

For several years, from Sesame Street to teen-tageted sit-coms, many sic-fi shows and, of course, the truckloads of news articles and reports, the ongoing theme has been this subtle (and not-so-subtle) group-think mentality that seems to reinforce itself while that critical thinking portion that is such a wonderful, unique thing to human-beings got squelched.

So it seems to be coming to a head when the socialists behave in ways that is characteristic to their DNA and other people who are successful in life and fiercely independent, who not just “dislike” going to the DMV but actively become foul-mood material by having to go there, who detest bureaucracy, red tape, cubicle-monkey tet-a-tets with “customer service”, etc. are now seeing how it’s all intended to work.

“Work” though is a fill-in term because socialism doesn’t work at all. It simply tamps down people who would otherwise happily go about their business and be left alone by GovCo.

Today, you cannot take a shower, walk down the street, eat a meal, use a cummunication device, or pretty much anything without coming into contact with something the GOVERNMENT has their hooks in. Cellphones, computers, your furniture, your clothing, the food we eat, etc.

Conservatives like me believe that there is a need for some government; Some semblance of balance and fairness in order to make sure bad people don’t get their way. But even as a kid, I knew that nobody died from eating the paint on their bicycle. I knew that my parents told me that if I went outside without my raincoat on, I would get wet and be miserable for the rest of the day. Why then, do we “need” some idjit on Channel 7 news telling me that? As well as what foods are “best” for me or when is the best time to do my grocery shopping?

Seems there is no shortage of “helpful” people who, upoin cliose examination, are pretty p*ss-poor at running their own lives. As the song says, “You can’t even run your own life, I’ll be DAMNED if you run mine!”

But here we are. So many people getting face time who espouse their ideas on how things ought to be done. The media…the g** damn MEDIA keeps broadcasting the flow of sewage from them all yet in my house, I at least still have the right to shut it down and not hear it. But it’s on billboards as I drive to/from work, etc.

Information overload has resulted in weird competition for who has the biggest, crappiest idea yet…and then it’s out there being broadcast with the hope that 7 to 9% will hook onto it.

    Global Warming
    Paper or plastic
    Alcohol in our gas
    Envior-“friendly” clothing
Don’t eat_______(insert favorite, flavorful food here)
    Take vitamins
    DON’T take vitamins

Like Spock experiencing the Pon-Far….”Leave me alone—LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!”

(Don’t go away mad; Just —- go away)

Do not walk behind me, I may not lead.
Do not walk in front of me, I may not follow.
In fact, don’t walk NEXT to me, either. Just leave me the hell alone.

But we can’t seem to get rid of it. On and on and on.

Well, that was the 50’s I think, when the last time was that people minded their own bidniss. But with all the garbage “social media” where you can instantly find out when so-and-so had their last bowel movement, and people keep posting such innocuous things as their “kitty funnies”…well…yes, I have the right to not pay any attention.

Problem is, I will be considered an outcast for not participating. Yet, I will be the (more) normal one. Sadly the insane world will not see it that wya and I’ll be sent to re-education camp.

But at least we can see who our enemies are, as they now proudly come out of the woodwork to show us.

      “the g** damn MEDIA ”
the socialist have been part of society for a century now.
we all know the color of their stripe.
the sole reason it exist today, at least in our country,in my veiw, is the news media.

      Junk journalism.
” when information travels as fast as it does today, it can wreak destruction before there is time for it to be understood. In the world of instant journalism, reputations are destroyed and privacies trivially invaded in the time it takes to switch TV channels.
Political reporters pronounce sudden verdicts upon the politicians they often outshine in fame and, as a result, parliaments everywhere feel themselves reduced to side-attractions in the great non-stop media show.

Since more people vote in reality television shows than in elections for the European Parliament or municipal authorities, the response of politicians has been to try, desperately, to be more like television: conversational, friendly, emotional, and not too demanding.

Journalists need to be reminded that it is only through democratic civil society that they have secured and maintained the ‘free press’ privileges upon which their effectiveness depends. In return, the public has a right to expect that journalists will take seriously the responsibilities that come with their privileges. Journalists are not lone rangers with a pocket full of silver bullets.

radio was born on the threshold of a totalitarian era in Europe and, for technical reasons, developed initially either as a state monopoly or an oligopoly licensed by the state, based upon the state’s ownership of broadcast spectrum. Television, which came to maturity in the second half of the twentieth century, also involved very strong state influence, either through licensing, in democracies, or direct control in more authoritarian settings. As General de Gaulle, the French president, once remarked: ‘My enemies have the press, so I keep television.’”
