OWS Kitchen Workers Protest ‘Freeloaders’

From the New York Post:

Occupy Wall Street kitchen staff protesting fixing food for freeloaders

The Occupy Wall Street volunteer kitchen staff launched a “counter” revolution yesterday — because they’re angry about working 18-hour days to provide food for “professional homeless” people and ex-cons masquerading as protesters.

Aren’t they being selfish?

For three days beginning tomorrow, the cooks will serve only brown rice and other spartan grub instead of the usual menu of organic chicken and vegetables, spaghetti bolognese, and roasted beet and sheep’s-milk-cheese salad.

They will also provide directions to local soup kitchens for the vagrants, criminals and other freeloaders who have been descending on Zuccotti Park in increasing numbers every day.

To show they mean business, the kitchen staff refused to serve any food for two hours yesterday in order to meet with organizers to air their grievances, sources said

We hope the kitchen workers are ready for lawsuits.

Some protesters threatened that the high-end meals could be cut off completely if the vagrants and criminals don’t disperse. Unhappiness with their unwelcome guests was apparent throughout the day.

“We need to limit the amount of food we’re putting out” to curb the influx of derelicts, said Rafael Moreno, a kitchen volunteer. A security volunteer added that the cooks felt “overworked and underappreciated.”

Many of those being fed “are professional homeless people. They know what they’re doing,” said the guard at the food-storage area.

The Occupy Wall Street protest is becoming a perfect case study as to how and why communism always fails.

Today, a limited menu of sandwiches, chips and some hot food will be doled out — so legitimate protesters will have a day to make arrangements for more upscale weekend meals.

Protesters got their first taste of the revolt within the revolt yesterday when the kitchen staff served only peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and chips after their staff meeting.

Hilarious.

Organizers took other steps to police the squatters, who they said were lured in from other parks with the promise of free meals.

A team of 10 security volunteers moved in to the trouble-prone southwest section of Zuccotti Park in a show of force to confront them. “We’re not going to let some members of this community destroy the whole movement,” a volunteer said.

Some arguments broke out as the security team searched tents — but no violence erupted.

More hilarity

Overall security at the park had deteriorated to the point where many frightened female protesters had abandoned the increasingly out-of-control occupation, security- team members said. Rumors swirled that one homeless man had pulled a knife in a dispute the night before — and that there had been yet another case of groping.

But protesters and a cop on duty told The Post that most of the crime goes unreported, because of a bizarre “stop snitching” rule. “What’s happening in there is staying in there,” said the cop.

This ‘stop snitching’ nonsense is being enforced in a lot of the ‘Occupy Obama-villes.’ Such as at Occupy Baltimore, where the organizers reportedly discouraged protesters from reporting sexual assaults to the police.

And yet these same people will be the first to complain – and sue the local authorities – should anything untoward happen to themselves.

I thought the OWS protestors were “vagrants, criminals and other freeloaders.”

I think the OWS ‘movement’ is really a Monty Python skit. Squatters are squatting on squatters.

How dare they deny the homeless and downtrodden free food. We all know only conservatives want to starve the poor.

Laugh? I thought I’d die. Oh, my sides…

They cite the ‘Arab Spring’ as their inspiration.

Well, I’m reminded of what happened to Lara Logan in Tahrir Square.

    “The Code of Silence”

    “She’s a Jew!”

American Fall indeed. What’s on full display is a parade of what’s dragging it down.

Pot, meet Kettle. I don’t think you could tell who the ‘derelicts’ are without a score card.

One of my daughters had an entire box of jewlrey she had made, and spent considerable money to make, stolen at a barter fair. It was the best lesson in the world for her, she was very upset so I told her that she should expect this kind of behavior from a certain percentage of people at these events, once people throw off law then they will throw away all law including moral law, then behavior will descend into chaos, anarchy and beastiality. Many will learn good lessons from this school of hard knocks. The rest are just the kooks and hardened criminals.

Nice one JohnMG! Not just Pot, meets Kettle. More like, Poop meet Vomit. Like the way you think buddy!
These moron/parasites can’t sort out the, “hand-out king and queens” from their own ranks? It’s a grifter eats grifter world out there baby, and I’m wearing free lunch unda-pants. Hopefully, this will be the collapse of stupidity.

For years I’ve always repeated the adage of, “the definition of irony is ironic”.

Henceforth, I shall be changing it to, “the definition of irony is OWS”.

If I was a grad student again I would love to trek up there and make a thesis on this, showing how an idealized concept of a “movement of the people” and communal property quickly devolves into politics of money, management, territoriality, and ultimately competition for limited resources. Sharing doesn’t work too well when there’s not enough to go around.

Of course no college would accept it; they don’t want to hear the truth that there’s not a liberal utopia of freedom and equality waiting to happen and only held up by the right wing corporate machine that must be brought down at all costs. And the people behind this movement and collecting the money would make sure it would never get published.

But to say there’s “professional homeless?” From one of them? For five years I lived in a bad downtown area and was frustrated with day in and day out the bums hanging around the ATM to hit me up for cash, sleeping in the post office, on the grass, or any place with an open door, and getting hostile when I didn’t pony up cash on the holidays .

That whole time it was the same group of men, telling tall stories of being military veterans or well off middle class until something went wrong in their lives and now they just can’t get a break. I complained about them and was told I was an insensitive conservative who needed to show compassion—you mean I was right? They weren’t people “just like me” but ex-cons and trash who just wanted a handout? Or is it just the professional homeless only appear when a left winger doesn’t want to keep on giving? Bush must somehow be behind it!

I would also like to bundle up all these stories in the press and mail them to the liberal people I know. But they already have their blinders on as they have had forever; I had one friend who insisted the Jimmy Carter years were the most financially stable America ever had, and things only went bad when that evil Reagan came to office. They only see what they want to, and so just like the screwed up hippie movement of the sixties this will enter the dogma and canon as some grassroots revolt that brought about change and equality, rather than useful idiots being put on a stage by the hardcore left.

To be clear, the OWS folks don’t want to share their “wealth” with people who have done nothing to earn it? What are their demands of the “1%” again?

This is great, they have created a “security” goon squad to kick out the vagrants. Do they have brown shirts to let people know who they are? These fools have no idea what history they are repeating here. They should be embarrassed.
