Pakistan Foiled Attack On Parliament

From CNN:

Pakistan foils suicide terror plot, minister says

From Samson Desta

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) — Pakistani forces in the last month foiled a planned attack on the parliament building, the intelligence agency and other federal institutions, the country’s interior minister told CNN Sunday.

In the last four weeks, authorities arrested three men with suicide vests who were plotting to carry out the attacks, said Interior Minister Rehman Malik.

Malik would not say exactly when the men were caught…

Malik said Sunday the government’s anti-Taliban operations will continue during Ramadan, the Muslim holy month considered to be a time of peace.

Militants in North Waziristan, part of the tribal region, have said they will observe a unilateral ceasefire throughout the month.

"There will not be a ceasefire during Ramadan. We are not interested in a ceasefire," Malik said. "They haven’t kept their commitment in the past. We will continue targeted actions against the Taliban." …

Well, we certainly hope that this plot was not foiled based on information gathered through interrogations that might have been untoward in anyway.

If so, Pakistan should just go ahead a blow the buildings in question and kill the same number who would have died if the plot had not been squelched.

Fair is fair.

By the way, what is this “terror” of which CNN speaks?

Isn’t that one of the words the Obama administration has blackballed decreed we are no longer permitted to use?

Didn’t his flagship media outlet get the memo?

Both the term “jihadist” and “war on terror” are banned in the administration. It does make you wonder why PC is taking precedence over national security. The men waging war against us are Islamic jihadists. They call themselves by such names. The “war on terror” is abstract but accurate: we are fighting terrorist groups. Obama sounds like he would rather sweep those facts under the carpet and pray the thugs will take PC to heart.

Remember that phrase “moderate Taliban” that Biden coined months ago? We’re dealing with children here…

Children have a right to act the way they do, liberals don’t!!
We are dealing with mental midgets. (sorry to all gravitationally challenged)

The most important thing is that the accused citizens (or non-citizens) be accorded their civil rights and due process to the furthest extent the law allos.

Because a parliament building in a country that doesn’t protect due process for terrorists shouldn’t be allowed to exist.

And the same applies, of course, should the alleged attack be nuclear.
