Parts From China Bound For Iran Seized

In other nuclear news, from Malaysia’s Sun Daily:

Cargo bound for Iran

PORT KLANG (March 17, 2011): Police quizzed 34 people after seizing parts and equipment believed meant for making weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear warheads, from two containers on March 8.

The parts were from China and bound for Iran, said Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar.

Commenting on the Sun’s front page report today, he said among those questioned were the captain and crew of the merchant freighter Bunga Raya I belonging to the Malaysian International Shipping Corporation Berhad.

He said the ship and crew were allowed to resume their journey after the containers were seized by police at Northport. Asked to elaborate on the equipment, he said: “We are not really sure what it is for but we are trying to find out.

“It appears to be a sort of a mixer or boiler but we should not jump to any conclusion. We are liaising with Interpol and checking with all relevant parties,” he told a press conference at the Marine Police Operations Centre.

It is learnt that the freight forwarder who shipped the equipment had declared it as two units of “agitating mixer machine” and the other as a “stainless steel storage tank”.

Items that will undoubtedly turn out to be essential to the processing of baby formula.

Ismail said the contraband was picked up by the Bunga Raya I from China and the shipment was bound for Iran.

He said initial investigations showed that the equipment was “strategic items” which required a special permit for export, transhipment or when brought in transit as stipulated under the Strategic Trade Act 2010…

When contacted about the seizure, the US Embassy was tight-lipped. Its press officer Tina Malone said: “Malaysia shares a common interest with the US and many other countries in enforcing UN Security Council resolutions, as well as its own laws, to prevent the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and missile delivery systems and components”…

Iran sends rocket, capsule into space: IRNA

by Mohammad Davari
March 17, 2011

TEHRAN (AFP) – Iran on Thursday signalled [sic] a broadening of its space ambitions by announcing the launch of a new rocket and a test capsule designed to house a monkey, amid Western concerns over its scientific advances.

The Iranian Space Agency launched the Kavoshgar-4 rocket carrying the capsule without fanfare on Tuesday, the official IRNA news agency said, citing the president’s office

An item that was not reported on IRNA’s English version website.

The space capsule, unveiled by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in early February, is designed to carry a live monkey but there were no living creatures on board, IRNA added.

They are so forgetful.

The launch of a large animal into space has been touted by Iranian officials as the first step towards sending a man into space, which Tehran says is scheduled for 2020…

Western powers fear Iran’s space agenda might be linked to developing a ballistic missile capability that could deliver nuclear warheads.

But Tehran has denied its contentious atomic and scientific programmes mask military ambitions

What nonsense. Everyone knows that Iran is simply wild about space exploration. In fact, we are surprised that NASA has not included them in their Muslim outreach program.

This nuke shipment and the shipment of 80 tons of weapons and rockets Egypt intercepted from Iran going to Libya at the same time Clinton continues stating U.S. sending $billions & $billions to “rebuild” Egypt. But, Obama is saying not to help Libya.

One thing for sure is the dems are keeping secret is “Obama’s” self-indulging winner king Charlie Sheene syndrome “binge” in enjoying more and more being the president per quote on FOX interview.
