Pelosi Demands Iraq Surrender Plan Now

Pelosi calls for high-level meeting with Iraqis

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama now has a major ally in his push for a timetable for the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq. Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki tells a German outlet that he’d like to see troops leave “as soon as possible, as far as we are concerned.” He then added: “U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama is right when he talks about 16 months.”

Amanda Terkel with Think Progress is down in Austin live-blogging former Vice President Al Gore’s address to the lefty blogosphere. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) introduced Gore and also took questions, one of which was about Maliki’s declaration.

“So with the prime minister saying it’s time for you to go,” she told the crowd, “I think it’s time for our country to sit down with the Iraqis and work that plan out. [We need to be] respectful of what the prime minister says, and respectful of the will of the American people, who have been against this war for a long time… [We should] have a high-level meeting with the Iraqis to work out the terms of our deployment out of Iraq… So, the end could be in sight.”

UPDATE: Former interim Iraqi Prime Minister Ayad Allawi will testify before Congress on Wednesday when a subcommittee of the House foreign affairs panel looks into extending the U.N. mandate that authorization the U.S. occupation of Iraq.  Subcommittee Chairman William Delahunt (D-Mass.) says he’ll ask Allawi his view of the timetable for withdrawal.

Never mind that Mr. Maliki’s remarks were “mistranslated and misunderstood.”

Is Nancy Pelosi really so stupid and uninformed as to not know that the US and the Iraqis have high level meetings all the time.

And that they are in the very midst of working on a “general time horizon” for withdrawal?

And is she also so pig ignorant of the US Constitution as to be unaware that this is none of her business?

She and the rest of Congress should stick to driving up the price of oil, starting runs on banks and generally ruining the economy.

    Pelosi should call for high level meetings with the other 91% of America who really sees her as an abject failure. She desperately needs someone to whisper in her ear….”it’s not working”.

    YES.

    I had the unfortunate experience of sampling a little of Al Gore and Nancy Pelosi answering the most bizarre questions from the NETROOTS, who use the communist star as a logo.

    Nancy Pelosi is the worst Speaker in US HISTORY, and to see these two offer endless lies for their personal political gain was disgusting.

    But then when one contemplates that Al Gore was a Vice President, and Nancy Pelosi is a Representative in the US House, we know we have a sincere problem.

    They are simply not qualified, competent, ethical, for these positions, and we have to do better.

    (PS - they showed the NETROOTS Folly very late at night on C-Span, perhaps to keep the embarrassment of the extreme LEFT - which Nancy represents - from being encountered by the rest of the Country).

    Come on guys - Pelosi, et al especially Obamanation and McAmnesty are only offering exactly what the majority of the people in America want - the opposite of evil bushitlerburtonco -

    Problem is with their ‘majority’ - most don’t ever bother to vote, work or pay taxes - therefore they are not the representative Americans and true citizens who really count and are paying taxes through the nose because of the bds suffering idiots in Congress.

    And that also explains why Pelosi’s lead 110th Congress set another first - single digit favorable percentages. I still think (most especially if they keep ‘investigating’ rather than offering a plan and doing something about the gas prices) - that they will reach even closer to that absolute zero. . .
