Pelosi Drops ‘Stimulus,’ Wants GOP Rebuttal

First this latest Democrat ‘new speak’ diktat, via The Hill:

Pelosi drops the word ‘stimulus’

By Mike Lillis – 09/06/11

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and House Democrats have dropped the word "stimulus" from their vocabulary.

Though the House minority leader and her caucus are still pushing an economic stimulus agenda to save the economy, they’ve radically changed their rhetoric with the hope of winning over voters who saw "stimulus" as close to a dirty word.

Democrats are now being careful to frame their job-creation agenda in language excluding references to any stimulus, even though their favored policies for ending the deepest recession since the Great Depression are largely the same.

Recognizing the unpopularity of the 2009 package, however, Democratic leaders have revised their message with less loaded language – “job creation” instead of “stimulus” and “Make it in America” in lieu of “Recovery Act” – in hopes of tackling the jobs crisis.

Have you ever noticed how Democrats discredit practically every term they touch? After all, once upon a time even the word ‘liberal’ enjoyed a positive connotation.

That’s a sharp shift from last year’s messaging strategy, when Pelosi issued hundreds of press releases touting the benefits of the 2009 stimulus bill in hopes of making believers of skeptical voters.

Perhaps even she noticed that last year’s "messaging strategy" lost them a record number of Democrat seats on Capitol Hill and all across the nation.

Meanwhile, we have other Nancy Pelosi news, via the Politico:

Pelosi blasts GOP silence

By: Jake Sherman
September 6, 2011

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi says that the Republican leadership’s decision to forgo a direct response to President Barack Obama’s jobs speech Thursday is “not only disrespectful to him, but to the American people.”

"Disrespectful" being Democrat code for ‘racist.’

The California Democrat, in a Tuesday night statement, blasted the tactical decision of House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) not to take to the airwaves to state what’s otherwise clear: He doesn’t agree with the bulk of Obama’s proposals.

That’s right. After years of calling the Republicans every name in the book, including ‘racists,’ for opposing Obama’s plans, Ms. Pelosi is now complaining that they aren’t being critical enough.

“In nearly 250 days of being in the Majority, House Republicans have not passed a single piece of legislation to create jobs,” Pelosi said in the statement. “The Republican silence on Thursday evening will speak volumes about their lack of commitment to creating jobs.”

And never mind that the House Republicans have passed countless job creating bills. And that the Democrat leadership in the Senate have killed every single one of them.

This is your brain on Botox. Any questions?

We knew they enjoy trashing the economy, and the culture, and the country.

Now Steve has identified that they are trashing the language as well. Perfectly good words like liberal, hope, change, stimulus, health care, governent, revenue and many others are now words that must be avoided like the plague.

Seems to me the republicans are one step behind the demcRATs as usual: No republicans should attend the Joint session of C. to hear O blah O blah until he publicly apologizes for the lack of civil discourse coming from the mouths of prominent dems such as himself, biden, hoffa, waters, naacp, black caucus et al. And promises an end to such as detrimental to the U.S. governmental system.

In some ways, it’s good that Captain Zero doesn’t address or at least minimally addresses the heated rhetoric from the democrats. This shows his complicity and advertises his hypocrisy. I am reading many things today about the left openly criticizing him. This is good.

But, on the other side of the same coin, the stupid republicans will, once again, want to put up a “moderate” (pronounced “liberal, left-leaning”) candidate. This tells me something very clear, that the class war that the left is encouraging is nothing compared to the power war that is going on in DC.

The democrats are being more blatant about grabbing power and usurping constitutional freedoms while the RINO’s want the same thing but try to go about it in perhaps a more subversive fashion.

I just hope we don’t get handed a “choice” of the slow ride to socialism or the fast ride. Romney is the slow-ride choice. But the demcrats who are categorically disillusioned with Barry like Romney and it gives them the opportunity to vote for someone who holds some of their utopian BS’ings to heart.

The democrats also are desperately hoping for huge divisions in the republican party, but I think people will hold their noses and vote republican if it comes to it, in the hope of at least slowing the freight train down. I’ like everyone here, am for stopping it, reversing it or even blowing it off the track entirely and making sure it never gets on track again.

A RINO in office is still better than the national socialist we have now but my biggest concern is who the RNC will pick to be the front-runner candidate. The RNC is still miffed they picked Reagan and there are those in the party who still hate themselves for it. But he was a badly needed relief from Carter’s little pills. We need someone like him now, but I don’t expect a carbon copy. Just someone who has good sense and some real management skills who knows what the best direction for the nation is.

Establishment Republicans: “Prevent Defense / Punt on First Down”

When RINOs have the ball, they are content to slowly go backwards, rather than advancing the ball forwards. When the Democrats start screaming, they immediately punt the ball back to them, and expect compromise in return, but are indifferent if they don’t get it.

RINOs are just hoping for a fumble or accidental interception here and there so they can have the ball before half-time, after all, we are all on the same team anyways you know.
They are LOSERS and think all the cheers are for the other team, and all the boos are for them. Chris Christie and Scott Walker plugged their ears, and called a play, we need people like that!

We have to saw the top off of Nancy’s head to see what’s in it. (Although I can guess at what you’ll find.)

A pile of warm s*#t by any other name still stinks just the same.

When you have made the sale, STOP SELLING!–& Republicans have sold the idea that Obama is a clueless partisan.

I forget, are the American people out there screaming for another soulless teleprompter pep rally? Do the polls show this is what the people are clamoring for? Silence is golden at this point. Talking people to death is pointless…..but they haven’t figured it out yet. Democrats think that the recipe to fix failure is more failure.

This is a LOSE-LOSE scenario for the Democrats.
~Republicans are WINNING and don’t need to sell anything! It’s Obama’s speech, HIS hype, his low job ratings, his vision that’s on the line, not Republicans’.
~NO ONE IS WATCHING DUMMIES! The NFL is our escape from a rotten economy, a blathering egotistical snob of a President, and the petty strategies of our overlords manipulating us ever 2.5 minutes.
~IT’S ALL fake! The people have caught-on that nice words don’t translate the same way in the bills….if they even read them at all.
~“Scalpel, not a Hatchet” economic cliche is now officially worthless. Who in the hell cuts fat from meat with a scalpel? You can’t see the fat? Here’s a hint: IT’S ALL FAT, you blind/stupid fools!
~DO YOUR JOB! Now that he has finally come down from his vacation on Mt. Sinai, luckily located in Martha’s Vineyard, we are all supposed to pay attention with baited breath to see what our emperor has decided to decree upon us. —no one wants to hear any of it. Cut your vacation a few days early, and you wouldn’t have to disrupt the opening game of the NFL….which is the only reason our t.v.s are going to be on.

I believe Boehner is being a little too cute in not providing a response. We have two case studies right now demonstrating how Barry’s big government intervention is destroying jobs.

A brief explanation of the Solyndra boondoggle and the Gipson Guitar factory raid by the feds would suffice as a rebuttle to the central planner’s teleprompter reading.

  7. canary says:

Thanks to Pelosi and Obama’s excessive planes & traveling D.C. has had an earthquake and caused a hurricane.
