Our difference is that you are using the vulgate, but I learned the classical. The "e" for a 2nd declension noun would only be vocative in classical, but could be either vocative or ablative in ecclesiastical.

Gladius: Adjutorium nostrum Domine means "Our help is in the Lord."

A short prayer. Compare: Adjutorium nostrum in nomine Domini, qui fecit coelum et terram. "Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth." To get the full sense of it, see Psalm 124, especially verse 8.

As Obama has a saying "People who are hungry, people who are out of job are the stuff of which dictatorships are made." 155 the aduacity.

Ford also known for quote along the lines the more the government gives the people, the more the governement can take away from the people.

I don't undertand what Pelosi meant by this slip
"As we look, there may be some more ways to get money out of pharmaceutical companies."

The ultra-libwits have discovered the beauty of raising taxes by not raising taxes. Turns out there are tons of ways.

Cap and Tax is the big one.

But any "User fee" for government services is a tax. And any "penalty" for non-compliance with a government mandate. For example, the fee for medicare goes up all the time. But it's not a "tax". And the proposed "fine" for a person not having health insurance won't be a "tax" either, although at $2500 per person, it would send a lot of money to the government.

And they don't call the fee for registering your auto a tax in my state. There must be thousands of examples of that around the country.

And let's not forget the elimination of or capping of tax deductions. Those aren't technically new taxes either.

I'm convinced they have specialists who spend their lives dreaming this stuff up.

But ALL of these, including Cap and Tax will pale against the biggest non-tax tax of all that is just around the corner............inflation. That's why the Moron and his puppet-masters aren't worried about raising money. They intend to print it. Governments have been doing that ever since money was invented.

"She dismissed the notion that some House members are skittish about voting for health-care reform because they are already facing a hard time in their districts over their recent votes supporting energy legislation. Republicans have framed that issue as a tax increase."

This is the line that offends me (well, the one that I find most offensive). "REPUBLICANS have framed that issue as a tax increase."
Um, WTF??? First of all, there is no need to "frame it"...IT IS a tax increase, plain and simple. Second of all, plenty of groups are justifiably bashing cap and trade, not just Republicans.

But no, those folks at the Post can't resist an opportunity to point the finger, can they?

"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday that she doesn’t feel bound by the $235 billion in deals that the White House and the Senate Finance Committee cut with hospital and pharmaceutical companies ..."

... Nor Does She Feel Bound by any Ethical or Moral Standards ... needed to be added to the headline.

SG: "It is all-too fitting that Ms. Pelosi would quote Chairman Mao."

Exactly. There is an old English proverb which may also be fitting for the medical industry: When you sup with the devil, bring a long spoon.

Here Nerobama is winning his spurs as a Bolshevik thug–––expropriating $155B from hospitals and $80B from the pharmaceutical industry. Stealing. This is naked theft at the point of a gun. Nationalization. Stealing property from investors. And stealing the future health of Americans. This is the US Government operating as a criminal enterprise.

And Madam Speaker Pelosi says, It's not enough! Steal more! "As we look, there may be some more ways to get money out of pharmaceutical companies."

I'm with you, LD: "Unbelievable!!" Simply unbelievable.

But wait. That's not all.

Nerobama is currently negotiating with the Advanced Medical Technology Association, which represents the medical devices industry––companies like Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic, St Jude, C. R. Bard, Boston Scientific, and Zimmer. The plan is to take this segment of the industry for another $50B to $60B. These companies thought they might be exempt from Government theft, because they generally don't sell directly to patients but instead sell to hospitals. They expected to take a hit from reduced hospital spending occasioned by the $155B rip-off. But now these companies are being asked by the White House to take a direct hit. They are being asked to make rebates.

Time was in America when rebating was considered illegal (an unfair trade practice). Now it is about to become standard operating procedure as the Democrats harvest profits from the medical devices industry and their stockholders.

Welcome to the new Red America.

When money is expropriated from hospitals, patient care will be sacrificed, as will investment in upgrading hospitals and building new hospitals.

When money is expropriated from pharmaceutical companies, research and development, consumer safety, and product quality will be sacrificed.

When money is expropriated from manufacturers of medical devices, technology, and equipment, then R&D, patient safety, quality, and supplies will be sacrificed.

And note that this expropriation from the medical industry is happening without any action by Congress on the pending health care legislation. A Bolshevik revolution without a shot being fired.

I fear for the future of my country. Adjutorium nostrum, Domine.

These dimwits are not juist shooting themselves in the foot, they are amputating the whole thing. There will come a point very soon when no one is even going to pay attention to these fools, and most probably stop "obeying" their dictates. I believe that is called revolution. It appears that at least some Americans are awakening to the fact that these dingbats are simply a reincarnate French aristocracy with a great deal of Hitler and Stalin mixed in to boot.

1. Supressing Freedom
2. Passing Laws and Exempting Themselves
3. Forcefully Taking the Product of the Labor of Others
4. Ignoring the Constitution
5. Promoting Racism
6. Supporting Illegal Activities
7. Committing Fraud, Abuse and Outright Theft
8. Bankrupting America's Future
9. Patent Criminal Activity

........the list goes on and on and on. Yep "dem chickens are coming home to roost" sooner than these idiots think.

Pharma companies are easy targets because politicians can impose price controls and reap the benefit immediately (who cares if Pharma has to layoff their workers & reduce or eliminate R&D, after all, they don't belong to labor unions) and the cost doesn't appear for years or decades down the road in terms of fewer new drugs introduced. By then, these politicians passing these price controls and tort lobby friendly regulations will be working on K Street or suing Doctors and other productive enterprises at their law firms.

This issue should get more discussion than its been getting, because R&D based Pharma is the only way to reduce the high cost of healthcare. Drug therapy is pennies on the dollar of Hospital or Clinic based therapy. Everyone understands this but Pharma is the primary focus of cost reductions. It's insane.
