Pelosi To Punish Dems Who Criticize Her

From a seemingly confused Politico:

On Pelosi’s bad side

By: Erika Lovley
October 4, 2010

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has become a punching bag for struggling Democratic House colleagues this fall, but some mouthy members have hit below the belt, raising questions about whether they’ll face a Pelosi punishment after the elections.

"Mouthy members"? Man, the Politico really gets their back up when it comes to protecting their masters.

Pelosi has blown off the public slights from the likes of Texas Rep. Chet Edwards, who recently said he would not commit to backing Pelosi for another term as speaker, and Alabama Rep. Bobby Bright, who recently predicted Pelosi could “get sick and die” before the next Congress. Rep. Heath Shuler of North Carolina even suggested that he might run for the position of speaker himself.

But will Pelosi be yanking committee seats or chairmanships after the election? It’s unlikely. Pelosi’s form of punishment has been more subtle — usually a cold shoulder and a behind-the-scenes admonishment — but being frozen out by your leader can be costly, especially in campaign fundraising.

How hilarious. Ms. Pelosi isn’t going to be in any position to be "yanking committee seats or chairmanships after the elections," and everybody knows it – with the possible exception of the Politico and the New York Times.

(By the way, tell Jane Harman that it isn’t Ms. Pelosi’s style to yank chairmanships.)

She uses her power deftly in ways a 21st-century speaker does. This is a powerful speaker who can impact how many campaign dollars you can get,” said Chris Lehane, a Democratic consultant who served in the Clinton White House as communications counsel.

Message coming in, sir.

When California Rep. Xavier Becerra tried to end run Pelosi on Ways and Means Committee slots, Pelosi said in a closed caucus meeting that she still had “tire tracks” on her back, according to several who were in the room at the time. When Rep. Earl Pomeroy stood up in a private Democratic meeting earlier this year to talk about his opposition to health care, Pelosi called him out — stunning the moderate North Dakotan, POLITICO reported earlier this year.

That’s the famous openness to discussion that the Democrat Party is known for.

It remains unclear whether the Bobby Brights and Heath Shulers of the Democratic Caucus will face any punishment — or if they’ll even have to answer to a Speaker Pelosi after the election.

That is, it would remain unclear if the Politico has not written this article which is obviously intended to be a warning from Madame Speaker.

Right now, these vulnerable Democrats are merely trying to save their seats and distance themselves from an unpopular leader.

But people who know Pelosi say she has a long memory that could extend beyond the election

Pelosi’s office declined to comment on whether anyone would actually be punished for their disloyalty. In fact, behind the scenes, Pelosi staffers have indicated that keeping distance from the controversial speaker is acceptable in some cases on the campaign trail…

Except when it isn’t.

While Pelosi tends to deliver retribution behind the scenes, Republicans have a more stern history of punishment for wayward members

Oh, our sides. Sure they do. The Republicans are notorious for viciously punishing members who don’t toe the line. Just ask the Senators from Maine.

Late last month, Senate Republicans asked Lisa Murkowski to resign her leadership spot after she decided to run as a write-in candidate in Alaska. Several Republicans moved to oust her from her energy committee slot, but that effort fell short.

Yes, what a telling example of brutal party discipline.

Democrats in recent history seem to be less vindictive

What an hilarious claim, even by the Politico’s standards. (Speaking of standards, the Politico has already changed the title of this article to: ‘Pelosi’s Cold Shoulder.’)

Meanwhile, lest we forget, last week the very same Politico was promoting a very different tune:

Pelosi not bothered by Dem desertion

By: Andy Barr
October 1, 2010

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is giving Democratic candidates a free pass to run against her and other party leaders.

A number of moderate Democrats are running against her, portraying themselves in ads as a check on the liberal House speaker from San Francisco.

Asked about the trend on PBS’s “Newshour” on Thursday, Pelosi insisted she wasn’t taking it personally.

“I just want them to win,” she said.

“We’re very diverse in opinion, gender, generation, geography, philosophy…That’s their record, and that’s what they go out and say,” Pelosi added.

The speaker also insisted that the Democrats who have opposed her on certain votes do not represent a “criticism” of her leadership.

"That’s a disagreement,” she said. “I don’t call that a criticism.”

Still, it’s good to see that the Botox doesn’t prevent her from talking out of both sides of her mouth.

And speaking of which, way back in March 2009 the self-same Politico ran an article by Glenn Thrush: ‘Pelosi’s list: Who’s on her bad side?

Which was all about how Ms. Pelosi keeps a list of the people who have offended her, and how she punishes them by yanking their committee seats and chairmanships.

After I got up off the floor after reading the first sentence (that woman has too much damn botox in her to function deftly in a 21st-century way) – It ends up as it always does in DC –Its all about the BENJAMINS

So what – just goes to show, yet again – the DNC has no ideas, no beliefs, nothing to offer except – redistributin’ the wealth – to themselves. And I do admit that it is kind of funny to watch them eat their own – no honor among thieves.

Gee, almost sounds like she’s a witch.

Rusty : “Gee, almost sounds like she’s a witch.” Good one!

So the blade of the guillotine is up.

By the way, Christine O’Donnell is clearly not the final word on witchcraft and witches.

There’s Nancy “sans-culotte” Pelosi for one thing.

And for another there’s also the rest of the coven :

      •  Sonia “the shredder” Sotomayor
      •  Elena “Little Boots” Kagan (also known as Ursula the Sea Witch)
      •  Ruth Bader-Meinhof Ginsburg
      •  the Empress Armtonia
      •  Janet Incompetano
      •  Cindy “kicking-and-screaming” Sheehan
      • Gloria “the Red” Allred
      •  Hillary Rodham Rodham
      •  Barbara “don’t-call-me-ma’am” Boxer
      • Congressman Anthony “hissy-fit” Weiner
      •  Congressman Alan “mad dog” Grayson, and
      • Congressman Barwney “the drooler” Frwanks.

And Liberals keep telling us it’s “the rich” who are evil.

Surge, Domine, et dissipentur inimici tui, et fugiant qui oderunt te, a facie tua. (Rise up, Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee. Numbers 10:35.)

Perhaps it is a blessing in disguise that Piglosi punish the ‘Bad Boys and Girls’ with the cold shoulder. It will save them the anguish of having to look at the tire marks on her face.
But WTF cares? January will be the eviction date and she can purchase airline tickets like common folk.
Four years is a long time to have to look at that twisted, wretched, straggled, sourpuss face. Without the botox she would look like she was hit with a wrinkle grenade.

The writer of this article is clearly sorority, fiefdom material. She is adept at describing a pseudo-social structure-within-a-structure where all the realwork takes place. Where the deals are made and how careers are made—-and broken. No, the designed and actual structure is not good enough for her, along with existing federal, state and local laws; Those are for the groundlings. The serfs, the troglodytes like you and me if you don’t know the secret handshake and password.

Ms.Lovley, if that’s her real name, is a pathetic example of the ruling class. And, she has proudly admitted it here by describing how Washington politics works and it excites and thrills her. Look at her choices of words and the thrill she gets up her leg by describing it with such excitement about wielding power and facing off with political rivals and enemies. Wow.

For me, all my life, this is exactly the kind of person I avoid and hate working for; The kind that revels in “backroom deals” and manipulation of both people and events to turn the outcome to their favor. It’s disgusting. Some call it a social skill. I, however do not and perhaps it’s because I lack that skill and prefer up-front honest brutal discussion. Not so people like her. Her skills are “clever deceptions” and “maneuvering” and she probably admires those criminals who can get away with stealing vast sums of money and make it all look legal.

    She makes me ill.

You hit it perfectly – it is because they see anyone not them as stupid and deserving of being lied to and stolen from – like slaves, workers and serfs. They are who they claim the rest of America is – hateful, mean and desiring of holding down everyone else simply to because they are not them.

They do not make me ill – they make me angry – that anyone so anti-American would speak out and take the reins of power and work so boldly to destroy America – and think that cheating, scamming and ‘back-room deals’ are thrilling and ethical.

I weep for American politics – unless Boehner and co – pick up on this drivel and pound the DNC until Nov 2nd with it – grow some character, develop some resolve and STAND FOR SOMETHING and I predict that they would win. But I’m not going to hold my breath – it is once again going to have to be We The People who fix this mess and run the bums out of town. Too bad no one in DC seems to be willing to speak for us.

For the Star Trek fans here, I would recommend a viewing of the original series episode, “Plato’s Stepchildren”. It’s a very apt description of this.

YOU MUST BE JOKING if you think Democrats give a CRAP about anything but power. Pelosi and the rest will wallow in pure liquid hog feces, naked, with their mouths wide open, if it means keeping their majority in Congress.

If they have to dirty her up a little bit to keep their seat, and keep power over TRILLIONS of dollars….well it’s a very small price to pay now isn’t it?

Remember, these are the same people who allowed a KKK grand cyclops to be a member for nearly 60 years. A drunken mistress killer to remain for 40 years. A “reverend” to impregnate his secretary, while counseling a sitting president on his mistress trouble.

AND YOU THINK they are going to get their nose bent out of joint over a few election year insults? Pfft!–come on! Since when did they have have a conscience or emotion about anything?
