Pelosi: We Can’t Put 12M Illegals In Jail

In the rush of events we almost missed more of the ex cathedral views from that well-known Catholic scholar, Nancy Pelosi, at a Catholic Community Conference, via CNS News:

Pelosi to Bishops: Use Pulpit to Promote Immigration Reform

Friday, May 07, 2010

[At 1:00] I want you [Catholic Priests, Bishops, Arch-Bishops, Cardinals] to instruct your, whatever the communication is — the people, some of them, oppose immigration reform are sitting in those pews and you have to tell them that this is a ‘manifestation of our living the gospels.’ Our patron saint of San Francisco, St. Francis of Assisi, he said, ‘Preach the gospel – sometimes use words.’ We need the words to be said because it isn’t being picked up automatically…

[At 1:50] We have to respect that dignity and worth, and recognize that the church has an important role to play in that. We don’t, as a practical matter, we can’t say to people — 12 million of you, ‘Go back to wherever you came from or go to jail!’ We can’t do that

But isn’t that odd? Back on November 12th, 2009, we posted this chilling exchange between Shomari Stone, a reporter Komo 4 News (the Seattle ABC affiliate) and Speaker Pelosi:

Stone: Do you think it’s fair to send people to jail who don’t buy health insurance?

Pelosi: … The legislation is very fair in this respect.

Back then, Ms. Pelosi had no problem telling 30 million uninsured American citizens that they will go to jail if they don’t buy health insurance.

And yet she bridles at the thought of jailing people who are in this country illegally, and who have usually been rounded up because they were breaking another law.

Why is that?

It’s been proven (1953 – Eisenhower’s Operation Wetback) that without benefit of helicopters, computers, blackberries, cell phones, and high powered assault weapons – it does work – When you enforce the laws on the books. Self deportation started shortly after the program began and ramped up as the program moved to other states.

Build the fence (which you refuse to finance), stop anchor babies, stop welfare handouts, healthcare, education and employment for Illegal Immigrants and they won’t come. But you don’t even need to do all those ‘new’ things – Simply ENFORCE the LAWS already on the books.

And after listening to that teacher (from LA?) who called the southwest – occupied Mexico and Americans weak, pale, rich white people – these aren’t people here to make America better nor the kind of Immigrants America should want.

Oh yeah – I forgot – Pelosi is an idiot – hard to follow her ramblings to get to a point. And does she really think that if she uses a word like gospel (as if she knows what that means) – those of her ‘claimed’ religion will say – Oh yeah she is really being a good _________(sorry I think that she pretends to be a Catholic, but I am not quite sure anymore).

I think that the one Tea Party sign says it all – You can’t fix stupid, but you can vote it out.

So wait a sec! Mrssss Pelosi wants us to believe that the Federal Government cannot round up 12 to 20 million illegal immigrants – which is something we already have laws for and is one of the powers the Federal Government is charged with; but we supposed to believe that the Federal Government will provide safe, effective, and affordable health care for 300 million citizens? Give me a break, either these people in congress think we are stupid or they are dumb as hell – as the lady said, “You can’t fix stupid, but you can vote it out.”

Vote them out and vote often!

  3. sidthing says:

Is she really urging people to live by the gospels? Representing San Francisco she is urging Americans to live a more holy life?

  4. wardmama4 says:

No sidthing – she is attempting to guilt those of us who see the Immigration issue as an issue of Rule of Law into feeling racist, not compassionate or religiously guilty enough to ‘encourage’ our ‘Representatives’ to support the mass ‘path to citizenship’ of 12 to 20 million Illegal aliens (notice how it always goes down in number just before the big push for Shamnesty?!?) .

These people have no morals what-so-ever and will stoop to do anything to get what they want – hence the corruption and deals to get Obama elected, to sit Franken (so that they’d have the super majority) and of course to pass Obamacare.

I am just hoping that all of this has really hit some of the truly rational members of Congress between the eyes as to the lengths that these rabid liberals will go to, to get their agenda through.

    And they must be stopped.

    Botox rots your brain!

What does she mean you can’t jail 12 million? Heck, all it would take is some barbed wire and fencing, some tents, a mess of water trailers and a bunch of porta-potties.

You could build a couple of temporary holding facilities down near the border, round up all the wets and process them with buses leaving hourly for the mother country. Working 24/7 we could send them all back legally with all the paperwork done, all the I’s dotted and T’s crossed in about six months or less.

No muss, no fuss and keep a couple battalions of armor and some aviation assets on the border to keep anymore from coming in.

All that’s needed is the will and determination to get it done.

  6. proreason says:

It just depends on who the people about to be thrown into jail vote for.

And how many times they vote.

  7. BannedbytheTaliban says:

Bet she would have no problem finding accommodations for 12 million Tea Party members come November.

  8. NoNeoCommies says:

Plenty of room for traitors, Ms. Pelosi.

  9. Rusty Shackleford says:

From Sat Night Live, ca: 1977, “Nancy, you ignorant, misguided s___.”

    • JohnMG says:

Nancy is guided by her own “moral compass”. I mean, her position on abortion is a classic example.

It must be terribly frustrating for her, for we all know her strong background in theological matters give her more than a passing authority to lecture ‘her’ church on matters of faith and morals, but they just won’t listen!

  10. mr_bill says:

Whaddya mean we can’t deport 12 million people?! Mexico did.

Seriously though, if we could finally secure the border and repeal the Cellar-Hart Act, some would deport themselves, no more would be getting in, and the rest could be dealt with through attrition. This plan requires only the willingness to enforce the law and protect our sovereignty, something I don’t expect the libs to be able to do.

  11. pamypo says:

You are right for once-but you could send them home. A few good cowboys could round them up, and drive them south-just reverse what they did in old west.

  12. Curmudgeon says:

Can you imagine the liberal outrage if any Republican/Conservative encouraged a religious group to harangue their parishioners “from the pulpit” like this?
Now, my children, gather round and hear the “gospel” (can there be liberal good news?). We’re going to have 12-20 million new friends join us. Yes, they are our friends, and we need to learn to share everything we have with them in support of our illustrious leader who has discovered how to keep all of society young and healthy with no chronic illness and pain (guess how), continually establishes peace in within our borders with each successful treaty with our reasonable allies and friends whose demands will certainly cease any day now leaving us plenty of the land we originally and ignominiously stole from the noble American Indians in the first place, and who tells us every day of the plans he has to put a chicken in every pot, or some pot in every chick…

  13. Botfly says:

    She’s such a hack. I can’t wait until November.

  14. sidthing says:

I was thinking about this last night, I hope churches raise a stink and sight that they need to maintain “separation of church and state.”
