A farmer got pulled over by a state trooper for speeding, and the trooper started to lecture the farmer about his speed, and in general began to throw his weight around to try to make the farmer uncomfortable.

Finally, the trooper got around to writing out the ticket, and as he was doing that he kept swatting at some flies that were buzzing around his head.

The farmer said, “Having some problems with circle flies there, are ya?”

The trooper stopped writing the ticket and said–”Well yeah, if that’s what they are–I never heard of circle flies.”

So the farmer says–”Well, circle flies are common on farms. See, they’re called circle flies because they’re almost always found circling around the back end of a horse.”

The trooper says, “Oh,” and goes back to writing the ticket. Then after a minute he stops and says, “Hey…wait a minute, are you trying to call me a horse’s ass?”

The farmer says, “Oh no, officer. I have too much respect for law enforcement and police officers to even think about calling you a horse’s ass.”

The trooper says, “Well, that’s a good thing,” and goes back to writing the ticket.

After a long pause, the farmer says, “Hard to fool them flies, though.”

The AP follows up this earth-shattering story -and manages to draw a comparison between Obama and Abraham Lincoln…

obama is so like Lincoln, the only way I can tell them apart in their photos is one is in color and the other is black and white.

oh and one has a live fly on him.

Well, I do believe that Obama lost that part of the stimulous request. No revamping the AF helicopter or the WhiteHouse. I think it was NewsWeek, that someone offered them money to redecorate, and Michello said they would do it with their own money. Obama described it as worn and drafty, like an old house.

Obviously PETA has nothing better to do than to obsess on the trivial. As many many flies as I’ve killed in my lifetime it’s a wonder PETA hasn’t labeled me a genocidal murderer. But then again I’m just an average Joe. And PETA only goes after the high profile people for the publicity it could generate for their cause.

Give O’balmy a break. He acted with decisiveness. He acted with determined swiftness

Ok, ok…. we will not see in his support for the fight for freedom in Iran.

And just like while in the senate…He’s voting “present” on that stuff.

But the fly…..ahhhh, the fly….is a beautiful example of his leadership and ability to tackle controversial issues with fatal results if necessary.

This is sure to scare the H*** out of the bad guys!

Like Obama, Lincoln had run-in with a fly

CHICAGO – President Obama launched his campaign from Abraham Lincoln’s hometown, used his bible to be sworn in and quotes Lincoln at the drop of a stovepipe hat.

Now it seems the two share something else: an encounter with a fly.

Daniel Weinberg, the owner of the Abraham Lincoln Book Shop in Chicago, has a photograph of Lincoln with a house fly on him.

Weinberg doesn’t know if the fly survived the encounter or if it suffered the same fate as the one that had the audacity to land on Obama during a television interview Tuesday and found itself on the business end of a presidential hand.

But Weinberg joked that Lincoln likely let the fly live, something that would have pleased the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, which announced it was sending Obama a contraption that traps but does not kill bugs.

“He was the great pardoner,” pointed out Weinberg.
