Pew: More Mexicans Leaving US Than Entering

From the open border lobby at the Washington Post:

For first time since Depression, more Mexicans leave U.S. than enter

By Tara Bahrampour, Published: April 23

A four-decade tidal wave of Mexican immigration to the United States has receded, causing a historic shift in migration patterns as more Mexicans appear to be leaving the United States for Mexico than the other way around, according to a report from the Pew Hispanic Center.

So this did not happen during Mr. Eisenhower’s Operation Wetback?

By the way, why did Pew only study Mexicans? We thought characterizing illegal aliens as Mexicans was racist.

It looks to be the first reversal in the trend since the Depression, and experts say that a declining Mexican birthrate and other factors may make it permanent.

“I think the massive boom in Mexican immigration is over and I don’t think it will ever return to the numbers we saw in the 1990s and 2000s,” said Douglas Massey, a professor of sociology and public affairs at Princeton University and co-director of the Mexican Migration Project, which has been gathering data on the subject for 30 years.

Nearly 1.4 million Mexicans moved from the United States to Mexico between 2005 and 2010, double the number who did so a decade earlier. The number of Mexicans who moved to the United States during that period fell to less than half of the 3 million who came between 1995 and 2000.

These numbers sound quite low to our ears.

The trend could have major political consequences, underscoring the delicate dance by the Republican and Democratic parties as they struggle with immigration policies and court the increasingly important Latino vote.

Illegal immigration has emerged as one of the most emotional political issues in the country — one that dominated much of the Republican presidential contest and has proven complicated for President Obama.

Which is why the DNC’s hometown paper is running this article on their front page. To try to convince everyone that there is nothing to worry about by passing amnesty and giving everyone free healthcare and welfare benefits.

Mitt Romney has courted conservatives with aggressive anti-illegal immigration rhetoric. But the GOP presidential hopeful has said in recent days that he wants to build ties with Hispanics, many of whom have chafed at his statements, and the new immigration trends could offer him a chance to soften his stance.

Obama has been criticized by immigrant advocates for stepped-up deportation policies that analysts have said were partly responsible for the decreasing flow of Mexicans into the United States. The trend could offer the president a political silver lining: the chance to take credit for a policy success that, his aides have said in the past, should persuade Republicans to embrace a broad immigration overhaul plan

You see? Passing amnesty would be a feather in the cap for any politician. Even Republicans. After all, the 1986 Amnesty is why we revere President Reagan today.

And why worry about securing the border first? Illegal aliens don’t want to come here nowadays. They no longer want better better paying jobs, or free healthcare, or great welfare benefits. Pew says so.

Since levels of immigration for these past many years have been more than enough to drown us in many important ways, should we now be thrilled with net-zero immigration? What nonsense!

    Pew. Synonym for something stinks?

It would be easy and truthful to say that even the illegal aliens among us see the hand writing on the wall and are fleeing the coming Democratic Stalinist State under Great Leader Obama, but that’s not the fact you need to take away from this …

Pew, is what you need to take away … if Pew said it, it is (a) wrong, (b) political, (c) serving an agenda unfavorable to America, (d) destructive to America’s foundations and/or all of the foregoing …

In this case, Pew is clearly following the Party Line in downplaying illegal aliens. This suits Obama’s reelection and attempts to go destructive of the Sovereign State of Arizona an by adjunct destroy Sheriff Joe Arpaio. How do I know Pew is both rancid and wicked?

One of the great scandals in modern philanthropy is that trustees and staff of grant-making institutions all too often pay little attention to the principles governing their founders’ charitable giving.

Consider oil magnate J. Howard Pew (1882-1971). As Waldemar A. Nielsen noted in “The Golden Donors,” the charter of the J. Howard Pew Freedom Trust (one of seven trusts making up the Pew Charitable Trusts) in 1957 spelled out that Pew intended to “acquaint the American people” with “the evils of bureaucracy,” “the values of a free market,” and “the paralyzing effects of government controls on the lives and activities of people.” Pew also wanted to “inform our people of the struggle, persecution, hardship, sacrifice and death by which freedom of the individual was won.”

Admirers and critics alike of Pew’s recent signature initiatives—such as its crusades for campaign finance regulation, universal early childhood education, and recognition of the dangers of global climate change—can agree that in the past two decades—with the exception of its emphasis on religion in public life—J. Howard’s worldview and philanthropic goals have played little role in Pew’s charitable giving.” Wall Street Journal

The operators of Pew are not just suspect in everything they issue, they are, in this correspondent’s opinion, criminals. They stole J Howard’s free-market earned fortune and flipped it to serve the Global Socialist Movement for World Enslavement. The very things J Howard dedicated his fortune to exposing.

Ok, so here’s my take for what it’s worth. I would asssume that a good number of our legal immigrants resent the idea of letting illegals steal what they worked very hard to achieve. Therefore, all this pro-illegal immigration crap should have if anything a negative effect on the democrats from the LEGAL hispanic community, at least to an extent. Why then are we concerned about the backlash of a firm stance on illegal immigration from the hispanic community? Obviously to we cynics it is because they are talking about the illegal vote, but it concerns me how the opinions of the illegals has become synonymous with the voting preferences of the “hispanic” community and it’s right out there in bold print.

Well, that sounds great in principle but I suspect the waves of amnesty and anchor babies have set the demographic tide in favor of the would-be illegals, and they will vote for benefits and amnesty for other Mexican citizens. The pro-illegal platform of the Democratic party makes it all too easy. There’s no longer any pressure to assimilate or learn the language.

    • AcornsRNutz says:

Oh, I agree completely, I guess my point is that it is scary how the idea that pro-illegal immigration policy espoused by democrats has now become a legitimate part of the debate over how to handle immigration to the point that what is basically being said here is that if you oppose letting federal law be ignored and expect that citizenship should be required of people living here, you can expect the “hispanic” vote to shy away from you. The very premise of it is rotten.

  5. beautyofreason says:

Not where I live! I see them all the time. Usually with three or more children – and they never speak English. Why would they leave? Why would someone leave if they don’t have to pay taxes and can go to the food bank twice a week. Not to mention – INSTANT snap benefits for legal children. Now that’s an anchor.

  6. Liberals Demise says:

Bullshiite …… What a crock of crap!
You can’t toss a taco shell without hitting a “no habla” here in
North Carolina. Hit a WallMart in Siler City or Sanford. I am sick up and fed of the effing lies.
    Pound sand, Pew!

    • Petronius says:

      Exactly right, LD.

This is the reason North Carolina has become a battleground State. Since they never liked the old North Carolina, the regime has been importing a new electorate.

When you vote in North Carolina you now have two choices for your ballot, Spanish and English.
