In their video story they were very rude. They compared the peaceful, orderly, polite tax protest yesterday to the anarchists rioting in St. Paul last year (and included video of leftists trashing property {you can see this at 2:20ish in their 3:07 long report}). They were rude several times, but that took the cake. Because everyone there was peaceful, they had to inject people who were not peaceful – leftists and their crappy behavior. Check it out.

Aside from being a blatant lie, are we all supposed to be so ignorant that we look right past the ‘this year’ part of that statement. And the Bush tax cuts that will expire in 2010–I suppose those aren’t tax increases in waiting?

And one last thought. Can you imagine another politician from Illinois (Chicago, even) linked to crooked activities?

Schakowski is a real piece of work

CHICAGO (AP) — The husband of an Illinois congresswoman pleaded guilty Wednesday to tax violations and bank fraud for writing rubber checks and failing to collect withholding tax from an employee.
Robert Creamer, a political consultant married to four-term U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky, could face four years in prison on the two felony counts when he is sentenced Dec. 21.

“In my heart, I know that these mistakes do not define or diminish this good man, or the good work that he has done over the last 40 years or that he will do in the future,” Schakowsky, D-Ill., said after her husband’s court hearing.

Schakowsky has not been accused of any wrongdoing

Creamer, 58, a prominent Chicago political consultant, was accused of swindling nine financial institutions of at least $2.3 million while he ran a public interest group in the 1990s.

Creamer told reporters Wednesday there was “no doubt that my actions a decade ago were very foolish and placed myself, my family, the organization and many of those who worked with me at considerable risk.”

He offered a “sincere apology to anyone who has been affected by my conduct.”

The indictment alleged Creamer caused a series of insufficiently funded checks and wire transfers to be drawn on accounts he controlled as executive director of the Illinois Public Action Fund. According to the indictment, he allegedly then used the inflated balances to pay the group’s expenses and own salary.

Creamer pleaded guilty to one count each of bank fraud and failure to collect withholding tax. In exchange for his plea, prosecutors dropped several other counts.

His lawyer, Theodore Poulos, said he hopes Creamer can avoid prison and serve whatever sentence he receives in a halfway house or under house arrest.

Schakowsky, who lives in the Chicago suburb of Evanston, said she doesn’t think her husband’s plea would prompt a primary challenge next year in her heavily Democratic district.

The ‘tea parties’ being held today by groups of right-wing activists, and fueled by FOX News Channel, are an effort to mislead the public about the Obama economic plan that cuts taxes for 95 percent of Americans and creates 3.5 million jobs,” Schakowsky said in a statement.

“It’s despicable that right-wing Republicans would attempt to cheapen a significant, honorable moment of American history with a shameful political stunt,” she added. “Not a single American household or business will be taxed at a higher rate this year. Made to look like a grassroots uprising, this is an Obama bashing party promoted by corporate interests, as well as Republican lobbyists and politicians.”

This is the strongest language to date opposing the protesters, which, according to some estimates, topped 250,000 across the country.

Probably, one of the reasons the MSM decided to ignore the Tea Parties was so that the stories wouldn’t be reported Worldwide. They’ve gotta keep up Obamessiah’s image and dissent is not allowed. No matter though, that’s why we have the internet. ;-)

Since this one was also held around noon time, there was also a phrase heard in the crowd that you wouldn’t hear at an ACORN or code pinko protest: “Well guys, time for me to get going. I’ve gotta get back to work…”

I divided them into red states and blue states (and said states like florida are 50/50).

Red State attendance was .27% of Red State populations. Blue State attendance was .16% of Blue State populations. Makes sense right? Highest attendance % was in Michigan and New Jersey. Lowest attendance % was in Boston and Chicago. Makes sense right?

I conservatively estimated Red state total population at 45% of the country = 135 million. The rest I considered Blue Staters.

I multiplied the Red and Blue state populations by the % attendance.

The total estimate of Tea Party attendance was 635,629. Because of the conservative assumptions, that number is probably low.

It’s an astonishing number of people who voluntarilly attended a protest agains a government less than 100 days into the regime. And it was on a work day, when a lot of people were occupied wiith doing their taxes.

First, I noticed how orderly they were…not because someone had to rope them off or in, but because they are responsible individuals

Second, All the trash, NOT seen laying at their feet.

Third, that if sure feels good to see how many others in this land feel like I do. And this is only the surface. How many others couldn’t be there for whatever their reason who also agree. We had so many blowing their horns on the streets around our square in support that sometimes it was difficult to hear the speakers.

Sometimes I’ve felt so much in the minority but this event has proven that a wrong assumption.

This has been a great day for the sane among us. Only a beginning in taking our country back to sanity!
