Pickup Truck In TX Carrying 23 Crashes, Killing 11

From the Associated Press:

Authorities: 11 dead after truck crashes in Texas

July 22, 2012

GOLIAD, Texas (AP) — At least 11 people died Sunday and another 12 were injured after a pickup truck loaded with passengers left the highway and crashed into trees in rural South Texas, authorities said.

State troopers and Goliad County sheriff’s investigators were investigating what prompted the single-vehicle crash and did not immediately know the names and ages of the victims. …they were various ages and that he personally saw two young children among the dead at the scene.

"This is the most people I’ve seen in any passenger vehicle, and I’ve been an officer for 38 years," [Officer] Bryant said, referring to the chaotic scene.

The white 2000 Ford F-250 pickup was heading north on U.S. 59 on Sunday evening when it traveled off the right side of the highway near the unincorporated community of Berclair in Goliad County and struck two large trees, Bryant said. The 23 people were loaded inside both the truck’s cab and bed

Notice how far down this last bit of information was mention. Later, in the eighth of eleven paragraphs we have this speculation:

"It’s unknown whether or not (the victims) were illegal, but it’s possible," Bryant told the AP

To its credit, Reuters is not quite so coy:

Truck crash in Texas kills 11 suspected illegal immigrants

July 22, 2012

EDINBURG, Texas (Reuters) – A pickup truck jammed with suspected illegal immigrants crashed into a tree along a rural Texas highway on Sunday, killing 11 passengers and injuring 12 others, police said.

The one-vehicle crash on Highway 59 near Goliad, Texas, some 80 miles south of San Antonio near the Gulf of Mexico coastline, was the second fatal accident in the past three months that involved human smuggling in the region.

Reuters seems pretty sure that there is human smuggling involved.

In April, nine of 17 illegal immigrants in a packed minivan were killed when the[ir] vehicle rolled over while being pursued by U.S. Border Patrol agents near the border with Mexico in Palmview.

In Sunday’s fatal accident, police said the 23 people riding in the Ford pickup truck were suspected of being illegal immigrants

Meanwhile, we have this warning from the President of Mexico, via Reuters:

Mexico urges U.S. to review gun laws after Colorado shooting

MEXICO CITY | Sat Jul 21, 2012

(Reuters) – Mexican President Felipe Calderon condemned U.S. gun laws as "mistaken" and urged Washington to review them after a shooter killed 12 people and injured more than 50 others at a U.S. movie theater on Friday…

Mexico’s president, who has repeatedly called on Washington to tighten gun controls to stop weapons flowing from the United States into the hands of Mexican drug cartels, said U.S. weapons policy needed a rethink after the killings.

"Because of the Aurora, Colorado tragedy, the American Congress must review its mistaken legislation on guns. It’s doing damage to us all," Calderon said

And yet Calderon is not calling for to tighter immigration controls to stop the illegal aliens flowing from Mexico and on to our streets. In fact, he wants an open border between Mexico and the US.

Besides, don’t we need to rethink the sales of ‘high capacity’ trucks, after all these deaths? In fact, the truck in question was probably purchased legally and without a background check or waiting period.

Hey Slow Poke Rdriguez, the people who would enforce these new regulations you are asking for are the same ones who supplied cartels with piles of guns in the north of your country which have killed how many of your citizens? That should really help you out.

By the way, is there any doubt any longer that Senor Calderon is in massive, possibly illegal cahoots with the obama administration? No outrage over fast and furious, demanding open borders, now parrotting the absurd claim that this shooting in Colorado implies a need for more strict gun control measures in the US. Since no one could legally carry a firearm into that theater at the time of the shooting anyway, how could firearms legislation have helped? Are we to believe that a certified genius planning this atrocity for 4 months would have been swayed if he had only the firearms he used were illegal or restricted in some way? God help us all, this country is in deep excrement.

Do these freaking people even hear themselves? Our damned government are the ones who poured weapons over the border in F&F. Or didn’t he notice?

BTW, when is Mexico going to tighten controls and stop the flow of illegals over our border? Never? Didn’t think so…

If anything, Holder will issue a diktat preventing pursuit of suspected illegal immigrants, which will cause them to flee and do dangerous things….like driving into trees. It is therefore the border patrol agents who are at fault, as Holder and Obama see it. Warped logic is king in this administration.

    Ha! Very funny.

      Dammit, Stevie!

Pssst – more evidence James Holmes is a false flag operation. There are more dead down there than Aurora, but no mention of the laws broken, the dangerous coyotes who got these people killed, the total lack of federal restraint on the parties involved so this won’t happen again, etc etc etc.

Holmes is a patsy, fed psychotropic drugs at Colorado Med School and set loose to do “something” violent just ahead of the UN Vote.

Is there going to be a UN Vote on dangerous trucks and coyotes?

      Make me laugh

This is at least 10 times as viable as Bush masterminding 9/11.

Who cares what a foreign president thinks of our gun laws. Why don’t we talk about the fascist immigration policies of the Mexican government :

Illegal entry into the country is equivalent to a felony punishable by two years’ imprisonment.

Document fraud is subject to fine and imprisonment; so is alien marriage fraud.

Evading deportation is a serious crime; illegal re-entry after deportation is punishable by ten years’ imprisonment.

Foreigners may be kicked out of the country without due process.

And here’s one just for you Mr. Foreigner President. “…under the Mexican constitution, political speech by foreigners is banned. Noncitizens cannot “in any way participate in the political affairs of the country.”

Actually it sounds to me as if we should adopt all of these policies. We would be making a genuine effort to better “get along” with our friendly neighbors to the south. We can call it whatever the Spanish is for “social justice”.

What could be more fair than making the laws on both sides of the border the same. We could avoid all those misunderstandings where the word illegal is used to describe people who break the law. Silly rabbit. Instead we can start using the word “CONVICT”. Saves a lot of grief for everybody… eh?

    • Right of the People says:

      Untrainable,

I’m with you. I’ve always believed that when someone from a foreign country is apprehended here they should be tried under the laws of their country, and with the same rights or lack thereof, not ours. Imagine if when we caught a truckload of tonks they were tried under Mexican immigration laws. Might slow down or stop the flow of wets into the country.

Will Obama raise the flag at half mass for these incidents. Maybe the feds will hand Obama’s mulit-million tour buses over for to make human trafficking safer.
