Pledge To Propagandize For Obama-Care

The latest spam from our friends at Mr. Obama’s perpetual campaign:

Xxxxx –

In just the last 3 days, OFA volunteers like you have pledged an incredible 4,000,000 (and counting!) hours to support members of Congress and candidates who fight for real health reform.

We can prove to Congress that health reform is good policy and good politics, but we need to go as big as possible. So today we’re setting a new goal: 5 million hours pledged.

And this will "prove" what exactly?

If we hit it, the country will know. We’ll be running an ad with the final tally in USA Today, the nation’s largest newspaper. And to make sure your voice is heard where it matters most, we’ll run radio ads in critical states and districts, featuring local voters announcing the pledge total from their area.

They are running ads to say how many people have “pledged”? And yet they seem to be afraid to even admit what they are pledging to.

Your hours will make a huge difference wherever you live, and there’s many different ways to get involved. Can you help us hit 5 million hours by pledging today?

Beginning soon, we’ll talk to voters state-by-state, district-by-district, about why it’s important to stand with those who fight for progress and reform — and reject those who stand with big insurers to protect a status quo that is devastating our economy, families, and businesses.

So it is the lack of healthcare reform that has devastated the economy and businesses?

Thanks for making it happen,

P.S. — My email from earlier in the week explaining how our "You fight, we’ll fight" program works is below.

Friend –

As we head into an election year, the new strategy for killing reform is claiming that members of Congress who vote for it will suffer at the polls.

We’re not sure it is so much a strategy as it is the obvious truth. Just as it was the obvious truth in 1994. If you try to force through legislation that the voters don’t want, then you have to face the consequences come election day.

For months, our opponents have spread lies about reform to scare voters away.

Somehow these emails, just like the rest of Mr. Obama’s propaganda efforts, never manage to mention exactly what lies are being spread.

But the simple truth about what reform would actually do — save jobs, guarantee all Americans affordable, stable coverage, and significantly reduce the deficit — is something most Americans strongly support.

Mind you, they were just claiming that it was the other side that was spreading lies. Not one of the things listed in this paragraph is true, let alone a simple truth.

The question is, come November, will the voters know the facts?

Apparently the Organizers For America are determined to prevent that from happening.

OFA supporters have asked for a way to show every member of Congress that if they fight for reform now, we’ll back them up this election season.

That’s why we’re launching "You fight, we’ll fight" — a volunteer pledge bank where you can commit your time to back up candidates and officials who fight hard for health reform.

Just ask Martha Coakley how much you can depend upon Mr. Obama’s army when election day comes around. In fact, ask Patrick Kennedy.

Or, for that matter, Indiana’s Senator Evan Bayh.

We’re shooting for 1,000,000 hours pledged to spread the word to fellow voters. And if we get there, we’ll publish the total hours pledged in USA Today, so there will be no doubt that health reform is both good policy and good politics.

Is this not Orwellian logic?

Pretending that some anonymous people have made some meaningless “pledge” to fight for congressmen who have been duped into throwing away their careers by voting against the will of the people – is supposed to remove any "doubt that health reform is good policy and good politics."

Can you pledge right away?

President Obama has made it crystal clear that he has no intention of walking away from health reform — and this movement has made its desire to fight on just as clear.

If this were a "movement" they would not need to send out hectoring emails. They would not need to pay astroturfers.

And many members of Congress are already working hard by his side to get the job done. But for those on the fence about whether or not to proceed, knowing you are there to back up a courageous stand can make all the difference.

Your volunteer hours can have a huge impact no matter where you live. You can make calls into critical districts where health reform champions are in jeopardy, write letters to the editor, volunteer for nearby campaigns, or even just talk to friends, family, and neighbors to help cut through the special interest spin.

This is astroturfing at its best. Calling Ellie Light!

(We wonder how much they are now offering an hour to make these calls on Craigslist?)

We’ll offer lots of ways to get involved between now and the elections in November, and you can decide which are right for you — the important thing right now is to publicly show your commitment to fight for those who make health reform a reality.

Please help us hit our ambitious goal of one million volunteer hours pledged:

We’ve certainly faced setbacks in this fight. But as President Obama told OFA supporters last week, that only means we need to work that much harder.

Thanks for making it possible,

Mitch Stewart

Do the paid lackeys at Organizing For America/DNC have healthcare benefits?

Do the poor slobs they pay minimum wage to make these calls to Congress get health insurance?

If not, why not?

All very telling. Could it be that the “good ship Obama” is taking on water?

So if Bush were propagandizing the war it would be OK with everyone?

“The latest spam from our friends at Mr. Obama’s perpetual campaign”

So, the healthcare boondoggles can simply get all cleared up if you pledge some hours (maybe some money ?) somewhere so some brain dead idiots (redundant ?) can agitate on behalf of the boondoggles ? And B+arry, who doesn’t really understand Nancy & Harry’s boondoggles himself, thinks the problem is his lack of ‘splaining enough at the ‘merican people ?

This is what we’ve come to in these United States ?

What Rich Lowry has called “governance as performance art”.

I personally pledge 10 million hours to defeat ObamyCare.

I find it ironic that the very entitlement (and illegal alien) crowd who are nothing but scamming do no work whining layabouts and suck the very life out of the American way of life are the same people this Moron in Chief is attempting to ‘motivate’ to ‘pledge’ hours to ‘work’ toward passing the scheme now known as Obamacare.

The only thing these propagandists want is a big number to attempt to convince someone somewhere (after they distort it by multiplying by a factor of a hundred) that the majority of Americans support the scheme now known as Obamacare.

If Dems keep dropping (out and technically) – there will be no way in The Won’s stellar first term – that Obamacare will pass.

And if The Won attempts it through the fiat of executive order – I can place a bet or two on who will be the first in Congress to utter the word – Impeach.
