PLO Wants Obama To ‘Impose’ Solution

From an approving Reuters:

Abbas asks Obama to "impose" Mideast peace solution

RAMALLAH, West Bank (Reuters) – Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas urged the Obama administration on Saturday to impose a solution to the Middle East conflict that would give his people an independent state.

"Mr. President (Barack Obama) and members of the American administration, since you believe in this (an independent Palestinian state), it is your duty to take steps toward a solution and to impose this solution," Abbas said in a speech.

Abbas made the remarks to members of his Fatah party in the West Bank city of Ramallah a day after talks there with Obama’s Middle East envoy…

"We’ve asked them (the Obama administration) more than once: ‘Impose a solution’," Abbas said

Abbas’s appeal to Obama came amid widespread media reports that the U.S. president was considering floating a proposal that would set the contours of a final peace deal.

Any such move would likely be opposed by Israel, which says only negotiations can secure a final settlement to the conflict.

Obama has been sharply at odds with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over Israeli settlement construction in the occupied West Bank, land Palestinians want for their state, and in East Jerusalem, which Abbas wants as a future capital…

Why not?

It’s clear Mr. Obama can solve anything.

It appears that Mr Abbas is better able to follow the party line than Mr Biden.

Perhaps Mr Abbas will replace Mr Biden in 2012

    But that’s unconstitutional, you say?

What a joker YOU are! Why would you even bring up the subject, if it wasn’t to get a laugh?

“Abbas asks Obama to “impose” Mideast peace solution”

You can bet your sweet bippy, o-blah-blah’s likin’ that “impose” thinking!

“It’s clear Mr. Obama can solve anything.”

You can make the same bet that the o-blah-blah dude thinks this, too!

Why, “imposing” just happens to be Obama’s specialty! (Along with just plain “posing”!) Abbas was watching us get the Obamacare(less) forced/imposed on us and thinks “Hey, that’s the answer!”

Dictators impose things, judges impose laws created out of thin air, presidents impose their will with signing statements and executive orders.

Time to reign in the presidency through Congress, and then control Congress with that little thing called the Constitution.

Its interesting that nobody from the PLO asked President Regan, President Bush, Sr., President Bush, Jr., or even Slick Willy, for that matter, to “impose” a solution. Of course, all of them (even BJ Clinton) considered Israel an ally. I dread Nerobama’s “solution,” and I’ll wager dollars to donuts that the “solution” is less than equitable to Israel. Foolish Israel, they actually believe negotiations with these extremists can result in a settlement.

And it’s well within his jurisdiction right? I suppose everywhere is.

Obama, Abbas and others of their ilk think in this way. They may throw the word democracy around now and then but do these people strike you as favoring anything democratic? Me neither.

“Imposing” ideals or plans and using the excuse that it’s for the good of the citizenry describes just about every dictatorial regime in world history. Funny how the “Bush is shredding the Constitution” and “Bush is a dictator/Nazi” crowd are so silent in the face of real anti-constitutional actions.

    Mr Bill,
I doubt the Isrealis really believe that, but they know that asking for military support will never amount to squat, and would likely cost them what little alliance they still have with us. They understand better than anybody that a pact between a muslim and a Jew is meaningless, since the koran specifically says they do not need to be honored if that is in the best interest of islam.

When we lose the Isrealis, all bets are off. That’s a cold hard fact that not even Carter and Slick Willy could avoid completely. Either they go off on their own and we don’t back them, or we help their enemies destroy them. Sadly at this point I think those are the only two ways this Isreal thing can play out.
