Politico Doesn’t Know Bachmann Lost Insurance

From the Politico:

Michele Bachmann: I lost my insurance

By TAL KOPAN | November 15, 2013

Rep. Michele Bachmann says [sic] she is one of the people who lost their health insurance because of Obamacare and she won’t go shopping on a health exchange until it’s fixed.

She "says" she’s lost her insurance? The Politico hasn’t heard that Congress and their staff are required by law to go into the Obama-Care exchanges?

“Are you kidding? I’m not going to waste an hour on that thing,” the Minnesota Republican said when Wolf Blitzer asked her on CNN on Thursday if she’d signed up on the exchange website. “I lost my health insurance under Obamacare. And so now I’m forced to go into the D.C. health exchange. I’m waiting until they fix this thing. I’m not going to sit there and frustrate myself for hours and hours.” …

“At some point we’re going to have to figure it out. I have a husband with very significant health issues. We have to have health insurance. So we will get it figured it out,” Bachmann said.

Appearing with her on the “Situation Room,” Democratic strategist Paul Begala seized on her comments about her husband’s health issues, saying she should be thankful for President Barack Obama’s health care law.

“Actually, we were just fine before,” Bachmann said.

Bachmann did not explain what about Obamacare caused her to lose her health insurance. The health law technically requires congressional staff go on the D.C. exchange, but it’s up to the individual congressional office to determine who qualifies as “official office” staff, so many Republicans have placed their aides on the exchange while Democrats have been split.

The same people who constantly try to mock Bachmann for being dumb don’t know the Grassley provision in Obama-Care specifically requires that "Members Of Congress and Congressional employees… to purchase coverage through a state-based exchange, rather than using the traditional Federal Employees Health Benefits Plan." — How can the Politico be so ignorant of such an important issue? (Just kidding. We know how.)

For the record, their second part about the staff carve outs is also a lie. The law is explicit. It covers all members of Congress and Congressional employees.

The Congressional Democrats are hiding behind ‘memos’ written by their flacks, who claim there is an exemption for different kinds of staffers. But there is no mention of that in the Grassley provision. — So this is a double dose of disinformation from the Politico. As usual.

Know why Obama and the Herndon Group titled this travesty an “exchange”?

Because when you sign up for the ACA, you exchange your natural freedom for the yoke of federal tyranny.

I want you all to remember the Confederate States fought a war to prevent this very thing .. a Federal Establishment powerful and corrupt enough to undo the Constitution.

Considering this group of certifiable psychopaths, she’s fortunate to remain alive.

  3. captstubby says:

obama doesen’t need the Constitution, he just uses the the trusty Executive order Stamper.
or if all fails,he has the more powerful Ninth Circuit courts of appeals,
and if needed, the Surpreme Court to cover his back.

Steve is correct. Off the top of my head I just remember the beginning words in writing was Congressional Members etc.etc.

It recommended the best plan to replace their plan had the word “business” in it. I wish I could remember. Perhaps I should send an e-mail to her site and tell her the information source to look over the well kept secretive exchanges and insurance companies over all the insurance companies that have the word “business” in them. I truly don’t recall the word “small” before the words “business or businesses” and have no idea about how many of the secretive insurance companies have “business” in their name. It was in a free mailing I’ll have to look up. They give court rulings on their Wednesday mailing. I don’t keep up with that.

But, the article Steve posted on “felons” being added to the spectrum of minorities is truly in the writings according to the WSJ.

And the Senate just passed by a large majority newer wording for transgenders and gays and all to be added to the old, minority, disability, age, etc.

Hats off to the Senators who voted against the bill in that it violates religious beliefs for employers to have to higher transgenders.

Michelle did not note her approx 12 adopted children she needs medical insurance for too.

What I don’t understand is that she would actually call the govt site and sign up once it’s fixed.

A doctor told me signing up on the site would make it easier for the government to implement communism.

He may be like me in that I use the term communism more freely than most, because I consider it acceptable to describe things going on in this country as the same as done in communist countries. Besides, as I was taught in history as a child. There is nothing wrong with communism. It means “community” in English.
