Poll: 42% US Unaware Obama-Care Is Now Law

From ABC News:

‘Obamacare’ Poll Finds 42% of Americans Unaware It’s Law

By Sarah Parnass | April 30, 2013

A new poll finds that many Americans are confused about the health care overhaul legislation commonly called “Obamacare.”

The Kaiser Family Foundation released results of a non-partisan study today finding more than 40 percent did not even know the law was in place.

“Four in ten Americans (42%) are unaware that the ACA [Affordable Care Act] is still the law of the land,” the report says, “including 12 percent who believe the law has been repealed by Congress, 7 percent who believe it has been overturned by the Supreme Court and 23 percent who say they don’t know enough to say what the status of the law is.”

Welcome to the new America.

The survey showed public opinion on Obamacare is at its second-lowest rating in the past two years…

In fact, as CNS News notes, it is tied for the all time low:

Poll: Obamacare Support Nosedives To Tie Record Low

By Gregory Gwyn-Williams, Jr. | April 30, 2013

Support for Obamacare has hit the lowest level since the bill was passed, the latest Kaiser Health Tracking Poll shows.

Overall, just 35 percent have a favorable view of Obamacare while 40 percent have an unfavorable view, which ties an October 2011 poll for the lowest level ever…

More than half of Americans (53 percent) support efforts to change or block the law, while only a third (33 percent) believe opponents should accept Obamacare as the law of the land, down from 40 percent since the beginning of the year…

And yet our news media constantly tell us how popular all of Obama’s agenda is. As well as how popular Obama himself is.

Meanwhile, we have yet another report about how Obama-Care could scuttle the Democrats in the midterms, via The Hill:

Botched ObamaCare rollout tops Democratic fears for 2014 election

By Elise Viebeck | May 1, 2013

Anxious Democrats fear a botched implementation of ObamaCare could dash their hopes of controlling the House and Senate for President Obama’s last two years in office…

One high-ranking Democrat told The Hill that it is his leading concern. “The White House is going to have to step up its game,” the lawmaker said. “The Republicans are doing everything they can to prevent success … The White House is going to need to understand that.” …

Unfortunately, the Republicans don’t have to do anything for Obama-Care to be a failure. Its failure has been ‘baked in.’ The Democrats want to use its failure as an excuse to impose a single payer, government-run program.

The Obama administration will enlist “navigators” starting this summer to help people understand their new healthcare options. There has been speculation that implementation dates might have to be pushed back, but Democratic sources say that the White House is forging ahead and there is no talk of such a move.

ObamaCare helped Republicans gain control of the House in 2010, and the GOP is hoping the law will bolster its chances of wresting the Senate from Democratic control in 2014.

To win back the House, Democrats must pick up 17 seats. That will be all but impossible if the implementation of ObamaCare is rocky…

Which means that from now on all we will hear from our one party news media is what a success Obama-Care is and how much it is loved.
