More See Domestic Terrorism As Big Risk

From CBS News:

Poll: 15 Years After Oklahoma City, Domestic Terrorism Still Viewed as Serious Threat

It’s been 15 years since the bombing of a federal building in Oklahoma City, an act of terrorism committed by an American, Timothy McVeigh. While more Americans see the threat of international terrorism as more serious, nearly four in 10 think domestic terrorism is a bigger issue, according to a new CBS News poll.

When asked which is more serious — international or domestic terrorism — 46 percent of Americans say international terrorism committed by citizens from other countries. Fewer, 38 percent, think domestic terrorism perpetrated by American citizens is the larger threat.

Views on this question have changed a bit from eight years ago, just eight months after the 9/11 attacks. The percentage choosing international terrorism has fallen by 10 points, and the number picking domestic terrorism is now up eight points.

So 18 percent more of people polled now think domestic terrorism is "the bigger issue."

CBS and the rest of our watchdog media should take a bow for how well their relentless propaganda has worked over the last fifteen years.

There are some demographic differences on this issue. More than half of men think international terrorism is the more serious threat, while women are more divided, with slightly more saying the threat of domestic terrorism (44 percent) is more serious than international terrorism (40 percent).

Older Americans are more likely to think terrorism committed by citizens from other countries is more of a concern, while younger people say terror acts carried out by Americans citizens are more threatening.

Region matters, too. International terrorism is of most concern to those living in the Midwest, while domestic terrorism is more serious for those living in the Northeast.

There’s little difference when it comes to political party. Over four in 10 Republicans, Democrats and independents say the threat of international terrorism is more serious.

For the record, here is a list of fatal terrorist attacks occurring in the US from 1990 to 2010, from Wikipedia:

Terrorism in the United States

    * 1990 Assassination of Meir Kahane by Egyptian in NYC
    * 1993 January 25: CIA Shooting: Mir Aimal Kasi opened fire to cars waiting at the stop light in front of CIA Headquarters in Langley, VA killing two and injuring three others.
    * 1993 February 26: First World Trade Center bombing killed six and injured 1,000. The attack was carried out by radical Islamist Ramzi Yousef, a member of Al Qaeda.
    * 1994 December 10: Advertising executive, Thomas J. Mosser, is killed after opening a mail package from the Unabomber, being the second fatality of the mailbomb campaign.
    * 1995 April 19: Oklahoma City bombing: A truck bomb shattered the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City, killing 168 people-including children playing in the building’s day care center. Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols launched the attack in retaliation for for multiple acts of murder by the US government in previous conflicts with civilians.
    * 1995 April 24: Timber industry lobbyist, Gilbert P. Murray, is the third and final fatal victim of the Unabomber’s mailbomb campaign.
    * 1996 July 27: Centennial Olympic Park bombing by Eric Robert Rudolph occurred in Atlanta, Georgia, during the Atlanta Olympics. One person was killed and 111 injured. In a statement released in 2005 Rudolph said the motive was to protest abortion and the "global socialist" Olympic Movement.
    * 1997 February 24: 69-year-old Palestinian Ali Hassan Abu Kamal opens fire on tourists at an observation deck atop the Empire State Building killing a Danish national and wounding visitors from the United States, Argentina, Switzerland and France before turning the gun on himself. A handwritten note carried by the gunman claims this was a punishment attack against the "enemies of Palestine". His widow claimed he became suicidal after losing $300,000 in a business venture. In a 2007 interview with the New York Daily News his daughter said her mother’s story was a cover crafted by the Palestinian Authority and that her father wanted to punish the United States for its support of Israel.

    * 2001 September 11: September 11, 2001 attacks carried out by Al-Qaeda. The attacks were carried out by Islamic fundamentalists using hijacked commercial airplanes to damage the twin towers of the World Trade Center, ultimately destroying both 110-story skyscrapers. The Pentagon near Washington, D.C. is also severely damaged. Building 7 of the World Trade Center was also destroyed but was not hit with a plane. A fourth plane crashed prematurely in Pennsylvania.
    * 2002 July 4: 2002 Los Angeles Airport shooting Hesham Mohamed Hadayet, a 41-year-old Egyptian national, kills two Israelis and wounds four others at the El Al ticket counter at Los Angeles International Airport. The FBI concluded this was terrorism, although they found no evidence linking Hadayet to any terrorist group.
    * October 2002 Beltway Sniper Attacks: During three weeks in October 2002 John Allen Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo killed 10 people and critically injured three others in Washington D.C, Baltimore, and Virginia. The pair were also suspected of earlier shootings in Maryland, Alabama, Arizona, Georgia, Louisiana and Washington state. No motivation was given at the trial but evidence presented showed an affinity to the cause of the Islamic jihad.
    * 2006 July 28: Seattle Jewish Federation shooting, Pakistani-American shoots six women at Jewish Center killing one.
    * 2008 July 27 Jim D. Adkisson opened fire in the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee killing two and injuring seven before being tackled to the ground by congregation members. A note found in his SUV indicated this was intended as a suicide attack and said the church was apparently targeted because of its support of liberal social policies.
    * 2009 May 31: Assassination of George Tiller. Dr. George Tiller, a doctor who provided late term abortions was shot to death in a Wichita, Kansas church. Tiller was shot previously in 1993 and his abortion clinic had been bombed in 1985. Alleged assassin Scott Roeder, who believes in justifiable homicide of abortion providers, has been arrested for the killing.
    * 2009 June 1: Arkansas recruiting office shooting One military recruiter was killed and another critically injured by gunshot at a Little Rock, Arkansas Army/Navy Career Center. The suspect Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad said he was upset over U.S. killing of Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan.
    * 2009 June 10: United States Holocaust Memorial Museum shooting. 88 year old James Wenneker von Brunn walked into the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington D.C. and shot a guard who later died. von Brunn was critically wounded when security guards immediately returned fire. On January 6, 2010 von Brunn died of natural causes at a hospital near where he was imprisoned. von Brunn was a self-described white supremacist and neo-Nazi.

Needless to say this compilation is by no means complete or unbiased. For instance, the Fort Hood murders are not even listed.

But even using this flawed list as a base, note the high incidence of foreign, especially Middle Eastern names, among the perpetrators of what would be described as “domestic” terrorist acts.

But no, it’s those home grown terrorists — like the Tea Party members — who are the big threat now.

This is why Clinton is so intent on giving all of us his moral lectures (snicker!) on free speech. He wants to misdirect us from the fact that his policies ‘triggered’ an attack on Oklahoma City. –And who else than a disgraced lawyer telling the public about responsibility? The government sure doesn’t take ANY responsibility for anything, yet the people better ‘watch it’ when it comes to exercising their rights.

    Follow liberalism for a second:

    1. They said that our foreign policy was responsible for 911.(Bush was on the job 8 months) However, our domestic policies had NOTHING TO DO with Clinton, Waco, Ruby Ridge to trigger Oklahoma City.

    2. Yet, even liberals on t.v. say there are no domestic ‘triggers’ for the Tea Partiers, so their hatred is because we have a half-black president.

They admit there WAS ‘triggers’ but don’t hand any of the responsibility to Bill Clinton.

THAT is why they are out there to rewrite history, because they know Clinton’s police-state government pissed off enough people to ‘trigger’ a violent event. –scumbag lawyers….all of them!

There are far more muslim attacks than are listed on this list. Perhaps those taking the survey had these statistics to go by. The muslim dirty shoe bomber, the suicide bomber at Oklahoma University game that accidently detonated at a closed gate, the New Years eve 2000 muslim terrorist).
    2007 Ohio muslim
The crossing bridges founder who was amputated & mutilated for trying to show with her tv show muslims are America’s friends.

Here’s 3 pages of more up til 2007.

New film released. Islam is the new communism. Love the photo of Obama getting his gold necklace from the Prince of Saudi Arabia is surreal. (Obama didn’t report that on his taxes)

What about the animal rights activists, the green activists and…
… the gay rights activists? Why the abusive and oftentimes violent conduct of the anti-prop 8 in Los Angeles and elsewhere doesn’t add up for the terrorism list?

(excerpts from) Did Bill Ayers Write Obama’s “Dreams”?
    (Part II: Deconstructing the Text)
    by Jack Cashill: WorldNetDaily.com September 19, 2008

In the way of background, Ayers and Obama both grew up in comfortable white households and have struggled to find an identity as righteous black men ever since.

Just as Obama resisted “the pure and heady breeze of privilege” to which he was exposed as a child, Ayers too resisted “white skin privilege” or at least tried to.

“I also thought I was black,” says Ayers only half-jokingly. He read all the books Obama did—James Baldwin, Leroi Jones, Richard Wright, The Autobiography of Malcolm X.

As proof of his righteousness, Ayers named his first son “Malik” after the newly Islamic Malcolm X and the second son “Zayd” after Zayd Shakur, a Black Panther killed in a shootout that claimed the life of a New Jersey State Trooper.

Ayers tells us of the poor black folks he tried to organize. Dreams is filled with such encounters.

In short, Ayers was fully capable of crawling inside Obama’s head and relating in superior prose what the Dreams’ author calls a “rage at the white world [that] needed no object.”

Indeed, in Dreams, it is on the subject of black rage that the author writes most eloquently…

In Fugitive Days, “rage” rules and in high style as well. Ayers tells of how his “rage got started” and how it evolved into an “uncontrollable rage—fierce frenzy of fire and lava.”

Indeed, the Weathermen’s inaugural act of mass violence was the “Days of Rage” in 1969 Chicago.

Ayers thought he was black. Obama thought he was a muslim. From 5 years old until 2006, his best memories are playing with tanned skinned muslims. Twice mentions the feel of his barefeet on Indonesia’s mud paddies.

They’re preparing the ground for another Ruby Ridge / Oklahoma City.

    1. Big Sis told us a year ago that the biggest domestic threat is veterans and conservatives.
    2. They have been vilifying Talk Radio from day 1. The Moron calls out Rush over and over again.
    3. For weeks they have been beating the drums about racism.
    4. They tried to create an incident after Health Scare passed.
    5. The MSM has made “potential violence” the meme du jour.
    6. Over the weekend, out they wheeled Bubba out to repeat his lies about Oklahoma City.

    None of this is coincidental.

It’s a defined strategy with one goal…..either cause an incident or invent one.

Think martial law. Shut down talk radio. Shut down Fox?

Just in time for the elections.

    • Right of the People says:

Like I’ve been saying for awhile now, they’re waiting for a “domestic terror incident” (I thought there wasn’t terrorism anymore, it was all Man Made events) so they can lower the boom and voila, we have martial law and Barry is President for Life.

Of course if the mid-terms go his way we may not have an incident until later.

Lock and load, it’s going to proceed at full tilt bozo speed now until November.

    • proreason says:

Yep, should have given you credit ROP, and RB as well, who has also been predicting strange events prior to the election.

I was concentrating on the rather long list of events that point to the conclusion that a faked domestic incident is likely.

And as I’ve been saying…..why would anybody think they are incapable of doing something like this? They did far worse in 2008.

    • Right of the People says:

Yep, I love my country but I FEAR my government.

  6. Perdido says:

According to my dictionary, the Massacre at Waco was an act of terror. Fact is, it is usually the tactic employed by authoritarian regimes. It should be listed with the other “Domestic Terror” incidents.

I find it interesting that at any mention of the FBI Murrah bombing it is required to tsk, tsk and studiously avoid any mention of the Waco Massacre. I have been in arguments with government people that insist Waco had nothing to do with OKC. The line is that McVeigh was a madman. Yet if you point out that McVeigh was tried, convicted and executed, meaning he was found sane by the courts, then you are “making a hero of a monster”. Yeah, but McVeigh killed children, in a daycare! My next question is who is Lon Horiuchi and who was his employer?

Anyone get a count on the number of flaming children shot by McVeigh as they fled the Murrah building?

The source defines the message. But ya’ll knew that… well at least the 4 out of 5 in the Pew Poll finding the government not worth of trust do…
