Poll: Women See Assault On Abortion Rights

U.S. women see assault on reproductive rights: poll

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – About one-third of American women believe there is a broad effort under way to limit their access to reproductive services including contraception, family planning and abortion, according a poll released on Thursday.

After months of election-year culture wars over Planned Parenthood, abortion and President Barack Obama’s policy on contraceptives, researchers said 42 percent of women have felt strongly enough to take some sort of action including trying to influence another’s opinions or donating money.

42 percent "felt strongly" about it, and yet…

But the survey of 1,218 adults, conducted by the nonpartisan Kaiser Family Foundation, said reproductive rights have not become a hot-button presidential campaign issue for women, who see the economy and jobs are far more important topics for Obama and his Republican rival Mitt Romney.

How can you make the first claim and then say the second. It’s preposterous.

And, for the record, the Kaiser Family Foundation anything but not "nonpartisan." They are very left leaning. And they have endlessly propagandized for Obama-Care.

The data found that 31 percent of women believe there is a wide-scale effort to limit reproductive services. That includes about one-quarter of Republican women, 36 percent of Democrats and 31 percent of independents. About 25 percent of men agree.

But a larger number of women — 45 percent — believe the effort against reproductive rights is limited to some groups but is not wide-scale, the data showed. Seven percent said no such effort exists

Apparently, the news media and the rest of the Democrat Party can fool some of the people some of the time, but they can’t fool all of the people all of the time.

By the way, the Kaiser poll oversampled Democrat even more than the news media usually does. (A pdf file.)

The right hand column shows how the poll was "weighted," so that Republicans are only a measly 22.2% while Democrats are 35% and Independents 30.2%:

There is no way that Republicans comprise less than a quarter of registered American voters. Why can’t we ever have a polling sample that look like America?

Meanwhile, even the Los Angeles Times has a slightly more accurate take on this push poll:

Poll: Little interest in women’s issues on the campaign trail

WASHINGTON – Even as political fights over abortion and contraception grab headlines, very few American women identify issues of women’s health as something they want to hear about from candidates this year, according to a new survey from the nonprofit Kaiser Family Foundation.

Notice that the LA Times called Kaiser "nonprofit" rather than "nonpartisan."

Only 2 percent of registered female voters named “women’s issues” as a top priority in this year’s campaign. If abortion is included, that number rises only to 5 percent.

By contrast, 60% registered women identified the economy as the top issue, making it far and away the most important issue in voters’ minds, the national poll found. Healthcare came in second at 23%, followed by social issues at 12%.

“It is clear that the economy is the top issue for all groups of women voters, and many other issues rank above women’s reproductive health,” the poll’s authors conclude

Aren’t the poll’s authors the "researchers" that Reuters just claimed found that 42% of women have "have felt strongly enough to take some sort of action including trying to influence another’s opinions or donating money."

So we have people ‘taking action’ and donating money who don’t think it is anywhere near a top issue.

Who knew baby killing would be such a big issue?

Actually, it’s not so much of an issue as the media is making it out to be.

Think “Squirrel!” from the movie “UP”. A distraction, entirely intended to deflect people’s attention away from the abysmal employment numbers, cost of gasoline, plummeting housing market and coming hyperinflation.

The difference is here, the media is carrying the communists’ water as opposed to 1979 when Carter was almost as disliked by the media as by the general public. So you can see the evolution in the rise of the communists here in the US. It correlates heavily with the rise of the hippie generation moving into more senior positions in the media. They still believe that communism is the answer and that the government should be the arbiter and giver of all things so that there is no “unfairness” in the world, so long as it doesn’t touch their cash.

Reproductive services=preventing conception and killing the products of conception should that effort fail. Orwell couldn’t have done better.

Spin it all you want. It still isn’t your “Right” to murder.
