Paper Hates To See “Peace” Message Get Out
From the very leftwing Portland Tribune:
Rudeness mars peace message
Mar 23, 2007
If the cause of peace is worth supporting — and we believe it is — then peace protesters must demonstrate the values they promote. The vast majority of the estimated 15,000 protesters who took part in a peace march Sunday in downtown Portland did just that. They were well-behaved, well-intentioned and serious about their cause.
But then there was a smaller group of demonstrators — if they can even be called that — who engaged in numerous actions that violated the sensibilities of ordinary people and damaged the very cause the activists claimed to endorse.
This splinter group of protesters showed its support for “peace” by burning a U.S. soldier in effigy. It exhibited its supposedly pacifist nature by knocking a police officer off his bike — an action that brought out the police riot squad.
Perhaps the most disturbing scene of the afternoon, however, involved the man who pulled down his pants in front of women and children and defecated on a burning U.S. flag. This disgusting act actually elicited cheers from some members of the crowd, but we hope that the emotion it produces in the community is one of revulsion.
Offensive behavior does not advance peace and justice in the world. Rather, it undermines the moral message of peace demonstrators. It leads people to believe that it’s not possible to be both patriotic and opposed to the war in Iraq.
If the goal of peace demonstrators is to influence public opinion and encourage an end to the war, the activists must connect with their fellow citizens — not repel them.
Most of the people who marched on Sunday fully understand this. And by singling out the few who didn’t, we don’t intend to place thousands of demonstrators under one label. But the actions of a few do create a public perception that at least some advocates for peace are anti-American, anti-police and far out of step with mainstream values.
The anti-war demonstrators who behaved responsibly this past weekend have an obligation to denounce — and distance themselves from — those protesters who purposefully offend others and consequently destroy the intended message of peace.
Of course it is a lie that these offensive acts are only the product of only a very small portion of the Portland protesters. They were everywhere:
And of course the Portland demonstrations were nothing unusual. You could find the same or worse at any "peace" rally, such as this one on the Mall in Washington DC from a year ago:
Indeed these acts truly represent how the protesters perceive our country, and how they want to see us punished.
The Portland Tribune is just steamed that the protesters are being too obvious about it.

And yet we are not to quetion their patriotism, in the words of Alan “Skeletor” Colmes…
Well I will! Lynching and burning a US soldier in effigy is sedition…and the filthy libs know it, hence why they want to shut us up! They know they’re seditious, and what little conscience they have bothers them…or else they can’t bear disapproval. Whatever it is, there is NO SUCH THING as a patriotic liberal! The left is treasonous to the core and should be treated AS SUCH!
Gad…just what I didn’t need to see on a Saturday when I’m going to ride my horse…

So, who are the “No Gods, No Country, No Masters” people? Are they some sort of anarchists? Who is their message aimed at? Shouldn’t they be spreading their “good word” in Iraq? America is far from a theocracy, and we’re doing our level best to help the Iraqis get themselves a more secular government, or at least a government in which the various sects can co-exist, despite their best efforts.

Helena - a Google search of the slogan brings up a lot of liberal websites. The phrase “no gods, no masters” was hatched by Margaret Sanger…surprise! Her purpose was to help women realize that as long as God was a man, men would be gods. Looks like everyone from feminists to anarchist have been using the slogan for a long time, mostly to promote atheism and, more recently, America hating.
BTW - the guys holding the “F the troops” sign have masks on. Last picture I saw with masked protestors was of the Muslims threatening the papers that published pictures of Mohamed. Birds of a feather…

Wasn’t Margaret Sanger the one who started abortion clinics in Harlem because she thought black folks were “weeds” in our genetic garden?
March 25th, 2007 at 6:15 pm
Yep, Margaret Sanger is profiled here at BlackGenocide.org as believing in eugenics and wanting to get rid of Black people through abortion.
I find it interesting that liberals hate America because of our history of slavery, but they love Planned Parenthood, even though it has a history of wanting to eliminate Black people from existence.
Liberal “logic”.

It’s your typical “anti-war” (anti-American) rally:
“Stop Funding Israeli Apartheid”
“911 Was an Inside Job” (Where’s Charlie Sheen at?)
And you collection of anarchists in their black hoods that will end up trying to attack police officers or other citizens. Does anyone know what the heck that Circle-E stands for? I know what the Circle-A (Anarchist) is for but I’ve never seen the Circle-E before.

While dangerous in thought - the majority of these clowns are young, impressionable dolts - who perceive the world as “us v them” due to poor self esteem, being the “unpopular kid”, got bullied , were always in the minority of “cool” and thru radical college lectures, feel a sense of false empowerment.
MOst kids get out of that stage and get a life. Its the adults in the crowds that concern me - while again a small minority of even the radicals - they have been lifelong morons, breeding lifelong morons.
I just came from Portland, like 3 weeks ago - my brother in law “to be” got married - and is an ardent conservative from Alabama. He says its hysterical how delusional people are out there, and occassionally will go to these marches and mock the kiddies. He is capable of taking care of himslef and literally just mocks the kiddies and laughs at them - and says he makes sure to always uses a deep southern accent when speaking to them. Gets the kiddies really going. He claims its the depressive 200+ days of rain that make them miserable, combined with radical group think.
I think we Reps should show up to these rallies - and show some true might. I am good for cleaning out at least 4 or 5 at a time… in defense, of course.

Well Odie, Since I live in Ala, there is just not much chance of going to one of those marches since they never happen here. ;>)

The Circle E might represent the environmental wing of the anarchist movement. They call themselves “eco-anarchists.” Here’s a Wikipedia link:

Even if the article is half true, it’s still good for a chuckle. Well…it’s only funny as long as they stay in the woodwork where they belong ;)
