LD…yeah, I thought of that…instead of putting it to good use by symbolically reducing our national debt, or donating it to ACORN so our taxpayer dollars would be better used, no, he puts self serving ads on the television as a strong reminder of who is in charge now.

Still, I keep getting the feeling that we will begin to see his face posted all over cities and billboards, exhorting us to “unite America” and other such nonsense.

If in the unlikely event McCain had won, we would be witnessing just how “united” he and his party would want America to be. Our cities would look like the Kuwait oil fields in 1991.

I have to agree with sj on this one. Most anything of a contradictory nature can and will be twisted, massaged, taken out of context and/or mis-quoted.

It all seems to be working quite well for them, too. Kind of like having a two-way radio but only being allowed to listen to it.

And so it begins. If we can’t be “gotten to” directly, we will be “gotten to” through our friends. The insidious nature of it has a chilling effect on our Constitutional freedoms.

Thanks for posting this, PR. And, alas, it is a real concern.

The Obama people have been aware of this site since even before he announced his bid for the Presidency. (Indeed, we are the reason why Reverend Wright did not speak at his announcement.)

And during the primaries the Hillary campaign tried to get us kicked off of a previous host’s server using a fallacious allegation.

The other side will be always be gunning for us. We should not make it any easier for them.

So please, everyone, do not post anything that could be twisted or construed in anyway to be seen as “hate speech” or a physical threat or a call to violence.

I realize that we are all very frustrated. But such misplaced bravado really doesn’t do anyone any good, and it can do this site real harm.

I hope there is a way to stay connected but I’m convinced that the so-called Fairness Doctrine will be an early priority for the new administration. Conservative radio is the obvious target but they are aware that blogs have built an audience. Obama has already been elected and with only a few appointments he will make this happen. We have no say. In the past we could bombard congress with calls to prevent this but there will be no sympathy for us in the new congressional numbers. Whatever the Limbaugh’s and Levin’s say today, Obama is POTUS and this is not a game of politics any longer.
