Russia’s Putin says ready to become PM
MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday he was ready to work as prime minister if his favored successor, Dmitry Medvedev, is elected president next year, but would not seek additional powers.
“If Russian citizens express their confidence in Dmitry Medvedev and elect him as the country’s president, I will be ready to head the government,” Putin told a congress of his United Russia party.
Translation: when my hand-picked stooge wins in the upcoming rigged elections, I will continue on in power despite the so-called Constitution.
How wonderful.
