Questions Arise About Strauss-Kahn Charges

From the ‘NY/Region’ section of the New York Times:

Strauss-Kahn Case Seen as in Jeopardy

June 30, 2011

The sexual assault case against Dominique Strauss-Kahn is on the verge of collapse as investigators have uncovered major holes in the credibility of the housekeeper who charged that he attacked her in his Manhattan hotel suite in May, according to two well-placed law enforcement officials.

This can’t be true. We have been assured for years by professional feminists and other experts in the media that women don’t lie about rape.

Although forensic tests found unambiguous evidence of a sexual encounter between Mr. Strauss-Kahn, a French politician, and the woman, prosecutors now do not believe much of what the accuser has told them about the circumstances or about herself.

So there is DNA evidence of a "sexual encounter." Didn’t Mr. Strauss-Kahn deny that, too?

Since her initial allegation on May 14, the accuser has repeatedly lied, one of the law enforcement officials said.

Senior prosecutors met with lawyers for Mr. Strauss-Kahn on Thursday and provided details about their findings, and the parties are discussing whether to dismiss the felony charges. Among the discoveries, one of the officials said, are issues involving the asylum application of the 32-year-old housekeeper, who is Guinean, and possible links to people involved in criminal activities, including drug dealing and money laundering.

She sounds like a model asylum grantee to us. By the way, isn’t it a little peculiar that The Times gives us so much detail about the accuser but neglects to mention that she is also a devout Muslim? Doesn’t that fact help her credibility?

Prosecutors and defense lawyers will return to State Supreme Court in Manhattan on Friday morning, when Justice Michael J. Obus is expected to consider easing the extraordinary bail conditions that he imposed on Mr. Strauss-Kahn in the days after he was charged.

Indeed, Mr. Strauss-Kahn could be released on his own recognizance, and freed from house arrest, reflecting the likelihood that the serious charges against him will not be sustained. The district attorney’s office may try to require Mr. Strauss-Kahn to plead guilty to a misdemeanor, but his lawyers are likely to contest such a move

Prosecutors from the office of the Manhattan district attorney, Cyrus R. Vance Jr., who initially were emphatic about the strength of the case and the account of the victim, plan to tell the judge on Friday that they “have problems with the case” based on what their investigators have discovered, and will disclose more of their findings to the defense. The woman still maintains that she was attacked, the officials said

According to the two officials, the woman had a phone conversation with an incarcerated man within a day of her encounter with Mr. Strauss-Kahn in which she discussed the possible benefits of pursuing the charges against him. The conversation was recorded.

That man, the investigators learned, had been arrested on charges of possessing 400 pounds of marijuana. He is among a number of individuals who made multiple cash deposits, totaling around $100,000, into the woman’s bank account over the last two years. The deposits were made in Arizona, Georgia, New York and Pennsylvania.

The investigators also learned that she was paying hundreds of dollars every month in phone charges to five companies. The woman had insisted she had only one phone and said she knew nothing about the deposits except that they were made by a man she described as her fiancé and his friends.

In addition, one of the officials said, she told investigators that her application for asylum included mention of a previous rape, but there was no such account in the application. She also told them that she had been subjected to genital mutilation, but her account to the investigators differed from what was contained in the asylum application

Sorry. We know that women don’t lie about rape. Even drug dealing money-laundering amnesty-defrauding women.

In some ways this reminds me ofr the Duke rape case. A black woman charges a rich white man, or men, with rape. Her charges are believed with little or no investigation.

In this case, it appears that NOW won’t be bothered to have to release a statement about this.

It seems to me these are two separate questions:

There is DNA evidence that sex occurred, and je regrette beaucoups, but consensual? DSK is NOBODY’S dream lover.

And then there’s the pious muslim, drug selling, money laundering, illegal alien maid who got here claiming asylum based on (possibly/probably false) rape allegations.

We don’t need these people here. They should BOTH be prosecuted and deported.

“The lying liars who lie and the people who rape them”.

Seems this is a case of having to sort out all the falsehoods from the facts. When people lie with such skill and regularity, it then becomes a chore and, in many cases, a political campaign. But I’m being redundant.

Your a hoot, Rusty……“The lying liars who lie and the people who rape them”.

I was gonna say.. the woman is at least qualified for an advisor position to almost pull off a con of that magnitude, although with a resume like hers I’d say the regime would want to get her to SCOTUS, ASAP, touting her ‘tough personal struggles but unyielding courage to acquire the American Dream.’

Good point. It is a difficult chore to sort out all the falsehoods from the facts when the testimony comes from a known liar. But if we automatically dismiss the testimony of anyone who has ever told a lie, we are also declaring open season on them. We are sending a message to rapists and abusers to seek out known liars as their victims because their testimony can not be used against them. Just because you’re a liar doesn’t mean you can’t be raped. On the other hand, how can we trust the word of a known liar? There lies the dilemma.

Tranquil.nite, yeah. ACORN prostitute promoting position.

I started to doubt the charges over the delay in her reporting, the press saying she was immigrant from Africa, and the fact the minister called from the airport to see if he’d left anything behind.

Like to how she looked on video leaving his hotel room.

According to Obama’s relatives the muslim is practice different. It is custom for the groom to hunt the bride and rape her. Sex continues to be rampant in Africa. The spreading of aids rampant, to include Obama’s relative who died of aids. He was the one who handed that moonshine to Obama that made him hallucinate. He told him to drink it and it would make him strong.
That is what an idiot with a degree from Columbia who organizes with thugs in Chicago does when he visits Africa. Who’d dream he’d be president.
