Rauf: Moving Mosque Would Cause Attacks

From those defenders of the faith at CNN:

… Mr. Rauf says the reason he can’t move the Islamic center now is because of national security concerns, saying parts of the Muslim world would be violently inflamed at the news of the center’s relocation.

“The headlines in the Muslim world will be that Islam is under attack… (there’s) the danger of the radicals in the Muslim world to our national security, to the national security of our troops,” he said.

“If we do move,” Rauf continued, “it will strengthen the argument of the radicals to recruit, their ability to recruit, and their increasing aggression and violence against our country.”

“If this is not handled correctly, this crisis could become much bigger than the Danish cartoon crisis, which resulted in attacks on Danish embassies in various parts of the Muslim world,” Rauf said later. “…. If we don’t handle this crisis correctly it could become something which could really become very, very, very dangerous indeed.” …

Is this not intimidation?

Is this not terrorism?

Pray for our nation, pray for your family. did you know the Health care bill tracks anyone who bought gold, why would that need to be in there? If collapse and chaos are not the goal of the Progressive King Pres. Obama and his fellow Muslims then it does not make sense what he is doing. PREPARE NOW, get canned food, get fuel, think two weeks of chaos at a min. just to start off preparing for. Do the peaceful actions, with your peaceful voice you can now. THESE EVIL RADICAL ISLAMIC MONSTERS ARE FOLLOWING THE KORAN. THE KORAN SAYS, KILL ANY NON BELIEVERS, WHAT DO YOU THINK THEIR GOAL IS? THE LAW OF ISLAM IS SHARIA, SHARIA = DEATH,BEATINGS, TOURTURE, FOR WOMEN. stop pretending it is not happening in front of you, prepare. WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT FUNDING THIS PROJECT, ABOUT INTENT ON THIS PROJECT, THEY USE THE BULLY TATIC OF CALLING NAMES AND INTIMADATION, ONLY YOU CAN TAKE A STAND, only you can decide. what will you do?

  2. TerryAnne says:

I do believe this is the most hollow excuse I have ever heard anyone utter, for any reason!!

Especially, since he obviously aims to appease the “radicals” instead of persons in the country in which he lives. If he – as a purported “moderate” Muslim – wanted to take a stand against the radicals, then he wouldn’t care one way or another if they staged protests or the like.

Oh, if only the leftists could see and understand this…

  3. Rick Caird says:

So Rauf is telling us even Muslims fear Muslims. We now have to do the wrong thing because other Muslims will get upset and commit violence if we do not. I have quite a difficult time understanding the this whole concept of “religion of peace”. It would seem if this were really a religion of peace, they would be eager not to force their will on the 2/3 of Americans who oppose their plan. But, it you thought that, you would be wrong.

Once again the “religion of peace” is taking advantage of the propensity of the religion to use extreme, violent tactics to impose its will and telling us we are wrong to oppose them. Is it possible for us to issue a fatwah? I have some strong suggestions that would address Rauf in particular.

    • TerryAnne says:

The only reason they “fear” them is because it makes the rest of them look just as stupid. IMO, persons like Rauf are more of the silent but deadly type, versus the “strap a bomb to your chest and move to the 72 virgin express lane”-type of person.

  4. canary says:

“But if you don’t do this right, anger will explode in the Muslim world,” he later said,…

Rauf certainly admits his religion causes world wide terrorists, and not world wide peace.

“Rauf said that, in retrospect, he might have chosen a different location for what he described as a multifaith community center….“If I knew this would happen, if it would cause this kind of pain, I wouldn’t have done it,” he said.

I’m sure if Rauf spoke to the entire muslim world again, and told them their great allah helped him find a a more rewarding location for their mosque, they’d all be happy campers.
Rauf speaks like a true terrorist.

  5. sheehanjihad says:

Let anger explode in the Muslim world! (yawn)
    So what’s new?

On the plus side hopefully a lot will die while they “explode” in anger!

My strong advice to Muslims living in America:

best not let that anger explode here….trust me.

    • canary says:

I trust you. It would be nice to separate the bad from the good, since Rauf has made his stand quite clear.

  6. Dupree says:

American Mom: I agree with your sentiments on the culture war that is upon us. Wake up and prepare. I would like to correct your statement with regard to Health Reform however. Fallacies wont help us. After searching the text of PPACA and Reconciliation bills, the word “gold” is only mentioned in reference to the four levels of health plans that will be available through the 2014 state exchanges.

  7. AcornsRNutz says:

He is probably right. If anything happens to that mosque apart from exactly what he wants, a muslim attack will occur and it will be no small potatoes. And at that point, the mosque will have dutifully served its actual purpose.

And while we are on the subject, someone explain to me why if a muslim attacks us for something like this or the koran burning, it is our fault, but if we retaliate against muslims for actual acts of terror against us, it is still our fault? They take down two skyscrapers and we try to surgically attack “those responsible”, but if some dingbat burns a koran, they may just destroy a heap of innocent lives, regardless of the victims, even if muslims are in blast radius. And people in this country are ticked about the former and not the latter? WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?

  8. untrainable says:

The GZ mosque has already served it’s purpose in that rauf has stirred up the trouble he wants. It has given him a platform to make the point that we are all intollerant and don’t abide by our own laws. It has given him a position in the muslim community that allows him to speak for all muslims (whether this is what muslims want is a debate for another time). It’s about power, and every time he opens his mouth from now on, someone will listen. Either to trumpet his greatness, or to bash is B.S.

This man has threatened all Americans with terrorist attacks if he doesn’t get his way. If he had mailed this statement to someone, or left this message on an answering machine, he could be prosecuted! We’re so busy trying to be politically correct and “tolerant”, we’re not hearing a sincere anti-American call to arms. WTF?

  9. tranquil.night says:

Maybe Petraeus can weigh in on this since the wingnuts aren’t listening to everyone else in the public dominion that has. We certainly don’t want to make any brash decisions to endanger the troops now.

  10. mr_bill says:

I can tell Mr. Rauf where to stick his mosque.

  11. wardmama4 says:

-‘Is this not intimidation?’- It is a threat plain and simple.

Stand up America – Don’t cave to a bunch of radical terrorists who happen to be islamic – even if they sit on the Larry King is Alive (Still?!?) . Their goal is all the same – World Caliphate.

Move it – hell I’m leaning toward build it in the Middle East and leave America the *$&^ alone.

American Mom – I am more worried about the electronic tracking (by God only knows who in the Thug Administration) of medical information and the thousand of additional IRS agents to track those who don’t have ‘approved’ healthcare coverage as demanded by the Thug Administration – than anything else in it – as those two leave Americans with no privacy nor freedom from the government at all. You also left out two important things in your list – guns & ammo and water or a catch barrel to catch rain water. A generator is also important to consider too.

I wouldn’t worry – If I thought that our Armed Forces were headed up by Men & Women who wouldn’t sell us out – but apparently as they climb up that ladder they begin bowing and scraping to Congress waaaaaay tooo much – and I’m not so sure as to which side they really are on. That is what scares me most. I have no fear that our fine Men & Women in the Armed Forces and their equipment is sufficient to destroy the 3rd century radical terrorists who happen to be islamic – I just fear that there is no one in their line of Command anymore who has the guts, integrity and patriotism to order them to do the job when it will be needed.

  12. Right of the People says:

I still say get a couple hundred gallons of pigs blood and entrails and pour it all over the site. That the site would then be unconsecrated and the moose limbs wouldn’t want it anymore. I’m sick of pandering to these bozos.

    • AcornsRNutz says:

Sounds like a weekend. Afterward we can celebrate with a few of those bacon flavored martinis that are becoming the rage among super hip libwits in California.

    • untrainable says:

We should call for a bridge building pig roast! Make it a BBQ competition. Like one of those Food TV contests. Bring in Bobby Flay… Boy Meets Grill. A Grill-Off. He’s just obnoxious enough to go along.

  13. beautyofreason says:

If we take him at face value then he’s a coward. 70% of the American public matter less to him than a “tiny minority” of radicals.

I love how Mr. Rauf suddenly feigns an interest in national security. His foreign policy can be reduced to this: If the West doesn’t support [insert Muslim sensibility] ——> Muslims become violent.

Note the language. It’s ALWAYS our fault:

“Danish cartoon crisis, which resulted in attacks on Danish embassies in various parts of the Muslim world,”

    And 50 deaths.

Note the “which resulted.” I guess because Western countries didn’t prosecute the cartoonist who satirized Mohammad to please Muslim sensibilities, Muslims had to riot, burn flags, and kill people? Even when major newspapers self-censored and declined to run the cartoons?

Do we have it coming too Rauf, for being “insensitive” to your wishes?

I am sick of this man’s silence on the terrorist groups and the wholesale condemnation of the United States. Sorry, we expect more of Muslims. We expect civility and integration – not people who act like wild boars when they hear something unpalatable.

Pick a side Rauf, or get off the island.

  14. canary says:

Right of the People, right on. That’s the best idea I’ve heard yet.
Maybe a more subtle way would be a different person walking past with a pig roast & dropping it on the side walk. Or drop a hotdog a day.

The muslims love to sue the breakfast restaurant chains because a fleck of pork is in their eggs and it made them sinful & dirty. They have to go through all these rituals before they are clean. So imagine a sausage or slice of bacon in the door way. Perhaps there are other harmless legal things that they are superstitious
    about, that could be done.

  15. Papa Louie says:

“The headlines in the Muslim world will be that Islam is under attack… ”

Isn’t that the headline every day? What will change?

  16. Mithrandir says:

*Going into Iraq will cause attacks.
*Going into Afghanistan will cause attacks.
*Moving the mosque will cause attacks.
*NOT giving more money to Pakistan flood victims will cause attacks.
*Burning the Koran will cause attacks.

–Hmm, seems like everything we do will cause attacks. AND OUR OWN GOVERNMENT LETS THIS GO ON!

City officials were increasing security, but wouldn’t go into detail about how many extra officers will be used, saying only that they were coordinating with other cities and tallying expenses.

“We are sending a bill for services to the Dove World Outreach Center. We’re tracking our costs,” said city spokesman Bob Woods. “I’m sure the cost will be substantial.”

This is the police-state threatening our own people with legal action for exercising our own 1st Amendment rights to burn the Korean. —Pathetic that our gov’t sides with terrorism.
