Government Worker’s Union Ends Ties with United Negro College Fund after Koch Gift
    Canada Free Press
By Alan Joel July 11, 2014

After the United Negro College Fund accepted a $25 million grant from Koch Brothers, Inc and the Charles Koch Foundation, The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) sent a letter to the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) yesterday ending their relationship. This includes a paid internship program.

The paid internship program is the Union Scholars Program which is a union indoctrination camp for students. Their website advertises “Through the AFSCME/UNCF Union Scholars Program, you can join us in the effort to support public service employees who are organizing unions.” and seeks, among other qualifications, students who “demonstrate interest in working for social and economic justice through the labor movement.” Apparently, AFSCME is willing to pay less for its foot soldiers and they’ve decided to outsource and downsize, just as they accuse business of doing. It offers students union shills “a stipend of up to $4,000” and “an academic scholarship of up to $5,000 for the school year.”

In the letter, AFSCME President Lee Saunders condemned the action as “not only deeply hostile to the rights and dignity of public employees, but also a profound betrayal of the ideals of the civil rights movement.”

Is it more hostile than eliminating student scholarships paid union organizers?

He further accused the Koch Brothers of being “the single most prominent funders of efforts to prevent African Americans from voting”. UNCF President Michael Lomax responded with this statement: “While I am saddened by AFSCME’s decision, it will not distract us from our mission of helping thousands of African American students achieve their dream of a college degree and the economic benefits that come with it.”

In comparison, a AFSCME spokesman noted that the union donates $50,000 to $60,000 a year for scholarships and “hundreds of thousands” of dollars annually.

In comparison, the WSJ reported that AFSCME donated $87.5 million to democrat campaigns during the 2010 mid-term elections. Other sources note AFSCME political donations at levels over $2 million annually and characterize their donations as 98% democrat, 1% Republican, and 1% “other parties.” Any chance AFSCME will be called “racist” on MSNBC for eliminating a UNCF scholarship program? Just kidding. They’ll probably be proclaimed as heroes for ending their relationship with an organization that would dare accept a Koch donation which provides an actual educational benefit to students without requiring them to enlist in a private army to push a political agenda.

Jesse Jackson angry Obama helping immigrates instead of fixing Chicago’s gang violence

NewsMax: Jesse Jackson Retreats From Attacking Obama on Illegals

    11 Jul 2014 – By Todd Beamon

he Rev. Jesse Jackson on Friday attacked President Barack Obama for devoting more attention to the illegal immigration crisis than the problems facing the nation’s inner cities but walked back from harsher comments made two days earlier to a Chicago radio station.

“But there is also a crisis in Chicago,” he added. “It’s not either, it’s both.”

On Wednesday, Jackson told WBBM-AM that Obama needed to send $2 billion to combat the myriad problems facing the Windy City.

“If we can find $4 billion for those children, and we should, we can find $2 billion for Chicago,” Jackson said at a news conference. “There are more children involved, and more have been killed, and more have been shot.”

“I don’t think it’s time to slam anybody,” he said. “We cannot turn our back on the children of the border. Nor the children of Lawndale and Roseland and Austin, as well.”

Chicago, he said, faced such ills as high rates of unemployment, homelessness, housing foreclosures — and a soaring crime rate fueled by gun violence.

So far this year, 201 Chicagoans have died as a result of gunfire, DNAinfo Chicago reports. Last year, 421 were killed by guns.

Jackson called for a White House conference on urban initiatives that would include several federal agencies — including the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Labor Department, and the Department of Health and Human Services.

“You have a level of trauma and fear here,” Jackson said. “You convene HUD and HHS and Labor and let Chicago be a model for reconstruction.”

Lot’s of duhs and uhs, you knows, what difference does it make, as Benghazi burned.

It’s sounds like the White House, all US Ambassadors and the US Militray need to learn to define what an “attack”
is or find a new code word. And learn exactly what “stand down” means or find some new codes.
Speaking of words and codes, we should be able to know what the “communications specialist officer had to say.
Probably part of the blackened pages.

AP: What the military did while Benghazi post burned

    By Connie Cass – July 12 2014

Transcripts of the interviews, with some names and classified information blacked out, were released Wednesday

The nine officers, including retired Gen. Carter Ham, then the head of the military’s U.S. Africa Command, described making on-the-fly decisions with only sparse information about the crisis unfolding at a diplomatic post and the nearby CIA compound.

None of them was[sic] in Benghazi. The closest? Some were 600 miles away in Tripoli, the Libyan capital; others gave orders from command headquarters in Germany or Washington.

They did not witness what went on in the White House or at the State Department.

    Some heard that,
    some didn’t;
nothing was clear about events on the ground at first.

One of the earliest reports came from Ambassador Chris Stevens, who told his deputy in a phone call cut short: “We’re under attack.”

“We started calling it an attack from inception,”
said Army Lt. Col. S.E. Gibson, who was at the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli.
“We never referred to it as anything else.”

Another military official in Tripoli, whose name was withheld, said he wasn’t sure how to interpret that word — “attack” — at first.

He had heard about protesters who scaled the walls of the U.S. Embassy in Cairo earlier that night.

“It could be, you know, vandals are attacking,” he said.

[{{{ Fire this unnamed ignorant smart as }}}}}]

Retired Vice Adm. Charles “Joe” Leidig Jr., deputy commander of AFRICOM, said he was awoken in the night at his headquarters in Germany with word that “there had been protesters, and they had overrun the facility in Benghazi.”

But Ham, who was alerted while visiting the Pentagon, said he heard no mention of protesters.

So he’s sure he didn’t pass on anything like that when he informed Panetta and Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff,
    of the attack.

Dempsey and Panetta personally took word to President Barack Obama at the White House.

Over the two days when the attacks
    were occurring,
there was “very, very little discussion that I can recall about why did this happen.” Ham said.
“There just wasn’t time for that, frankly.”

Technically, no, the team was not ordered, as some have asserted, to stand by as militants attacked Americans 600 miles away.

But they were told not to go to Benghazi and instead to stay and protect personnel in Tripoli.

The team, led by Gibson, was in Tripoli to help train Libyan special forces. When the Benghazi attack began, Gibson’s first duty was to protect the embassy in Tripoli amid fears that it also would be targeted.

Once he felt they were safe on the morning of Sept. 12, Gibson was ready to rush to Benghazi to help.

One Libyan plane carrying a six-man U.S. security team already had taken off. Gibson wanted his group on the second chartered flight. He called the special operations command center for Africa to say they were heading to the airport.

He was told, “Don’t go. Don’t get on that plane.”

“Initially, I was angry,” he recalled. “Because a tactical commander doesn’t like to have those decisions taken away from him. But then once I digested it a little bit, then I realized, OK, maybe there was something going on. Maybe I’m needed here for something else.”

Losey dismissed the notion that the foursome could have been much help in Benghazi, where Americans already were moving to the airfield for evacuation with the aid of Libyan forces and the U.S. security team from the first plane.

Losey noted that Gibson’s group consisted of
    a communications specialist,
    a medic
and a weapons operator with his foot in a cast.

“That’s not a security team,” Losey said. Sending them in “didn’t make a lot of sense.”

Gibson said if his group had flown to Benghazi, their flight would have crossed paths with the first plane as it returned bearing wounded Americans. Because they stayed, his medic was there to meet two seriously injured people at the Tripoli airport. The medic is credited with saving one’s life.

{{{{{{ Are we really to believe that the more important Tripoli camp trainning Libyans only had 1 officer, 1 communications officer, 1 weapons specialist in a leg cast, and only 1 medic and NOT ONE DOCTOR in Tripoli when entire priority was Tripoli’s safety ?)))))

But Losey and Gibson say in their military parlance, standing down means ceasing operations.

“It was not a stand-down order,” Gibson said.
    “It was not,
‘Hey, time for everybody to go to bed.’
    It was, you know,
    ‘Don’t go.
    Don’t get on that plane.
    Remain in place.'”

“It was never an order to stand down,” Losey said. “It was an order to remain in place and continue to provide your security role in Tripoli.”

“The conversation really was more along lines of, you know, ‘What do you need? What can we do?'” he said. “And every request for forces that I asked of the secretary of defense was approved.”

Following the first report of trouble about 9:40 p.m. local time on Sept. 11, officials began looking for military planes that could head to Benghazi for evacuations. None would be available for hours.

An unmanned drone already in Libya was quickly sent to survey the situation at the diplomatic post. Nighttime darkness limited its usefulness.

Two military members — both from Special Forces — were in the six-man team that flew from Tripoli to Benghazi around midnight and aided with the defense and evacuation of the CIA base.

A U.S. anti-terror team sent from Spain arrived in Tripoli after the evacuees had gone.

Two military teams — one in Croatia and the other in the U.S. — prepared to go but, as the situation changed, weren’t brought to Libya.

Not until the morning of Sept. 12 was the 31st Fighter Wing in Aviano, Italy, ordered to get four F-16 jets and four pilots ready to respond if needed.

The call to Benghazi never came.

Military leaders decided early on that jets armed with 500-pound bombs were unsuited for the chaotic crisis in an urban area.

“Ultimately, it was my decision that said no, not the right response in this circumstance,” Ham said.

He believed some militants had missiles capable of downing a plane.

“Had I made a different decision, had strike aircraft deployed, we don’t really know what the outcome would have been,” Ham said. “Maybe it would have been positive, but maybe it would have got shot down. Maybe it would have killed civilians.”

Brig. Gen. Scott Zobrist, then the wing commander at Aviano, had similar worries.

Pilots would have to be recalled from their homes,
    bombs loaded onto planes,
    the 1,000-mile route planned.
The jets would need refueling along the way,
which meant coordinating with tanker planes stationed in England —
something that typically takes days to plan.

    In hindsight, Ham said,
he should have reached out to his Libyan contacts and other U.S. officials to get Americans evacuated from Benghazi faster.

That might have saved the two lives that were lost hours after the first attack at the diplomatic post.

While the evacuation from Benghazi was being planned by the embassy and the CIA,

Ham said, he switched his focus toward gearing up a possible hostage rescue mission, because the ambassador was still missing.

Meanwhile, surviving U.S. personnel were gathered at the CIA base in Benghazi.
Ham said he believed they were relatively safe.
He and other military leaders said they weren’t told that the CIA compound already had come under gunfire and rocket-propelled grenade attacks in the middle of the night.

The U.S. security team that arrived at the Benghazi airport after midnight was detained by Libyan officials for several hours. That delayed the evacuation, Ham said, and “allowed sufficient time for the second attack to be organized and conducted.”

During that attack, around 5 a.m., mortar fire killed two CIA security contractors on the roof
    and wounded other Americans.

Associated Press writers Donna Cassata and Bradley Klapper contributed to this report.

Well, that explains the 30 something Americans in hiding.

In spite of years of experience and intelligence and being in command he gave the order not to go just in case trouble started in Tripoli.
He only had a group of 4 in Tripoli for emergencies?
His F-16 Fighters would take days to be able to fly in an emergeny?
With all the blood shed of two civil wars and the war in Somali, Yemen, and growing Al-Qaeda and Boko Haram

NAVYSEALS.COM: Air Force Academy Grad Takes Control of SEALs

July 1, 2013 by George Will

Diversity is a key ingredient that SEALs rely on to ensure they have the ability to perform their job, and it’s no different at the top.

On 21 June Rear Admiral Brian L. Losey took command of Naval Special Warfare from Rear Admiral Sean A. Pybus, who is expected to pick up his third star in route to Brussels, Belgium as he takes Command of NATO’s Special Operations Headquarters.

During the ceremony McRaven praised Pybus’s by saying,

“We have earned a reputation that is unparalleled, primarily because Sean (Pybus) has led the effort to ensure we send the best selected, the best trained, the best equipped and the best supported Naval Special Warfare warriors ever.”

However, often times the most difficult part of any operation is exfil, a vernacular spoken within the military meaning moving out of a current location. That responsibility belongs to Losey.

No one is implying Navy SEALs aren’t going to be involved in Afghanistan post the 2014 drawdown but history has shown the role of special operations can change significantly during the buildup and withdraw.

By and large the transformation from a strike team to an advisory group can increase the risks these warriors face when leading the men they’ve trained into battle, without the supporting elements of conventional American forces.

Selecting the right man to steer the ship during such a perilous journey is essential.

Losey’s diverse military background makes him the logical choice.

Commanding troops and overseeing combat operations is nothing new for Losey who recently served as Commander of all special operations activities for the African AOR.

Be it from his time with the Navy Fleet to the Executive Office of the President,
where he served as a director on the National Security Council Staff for two administrations.

Losey’s understanding of interagency and multinational partnerships will prove key
as the Defense Department tries to accomplish more with less.

Diversity is certainly something the SEALs rely on but it is also the United States Special Operations Command needs as they move into a less visible but equally impacting role in protecting America’s citizens.

Director who was First to Call Benghazi a Terrorist Attack Steps Down

NY Times: U.S. Counterterrorism Chief to Step Down

    By Eric Schmitt – July 9, 2014

WASHINGTON — Matthew G. Olsen, the director of the National Counterterrorism Center, is resigning after three years, a time during which the threat from Al Qaeda shifted from its headquarters in Pakistan to its affiliates in places like Syria, Iraq and Yemen.

“Most Americans may not know Matt Olsen’s name, but every American is safer because of his service,”
President Obama said in a statement released by the White House.

Mr. Olsen, 52, is a former general counsel for the National Security Agency with extensive experience in intelligence matters,…

“As Al Qaeda morphed after the death of Bin Laden, Matt kept the focus on the new environment,” said Michael E. Leiter, Mr. Olsen’s predecessor.

Mr. Olsen was inadvertently caught in the controversy over the attacks on the United States Mission in Benghazi, Libya, in 2012, telling a congressional committee that Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other Americans had died “in the course of a terrorist attack.”

It was only after Mr. Olsen’s unscripted comments

that White House officials also began publicly calling the assault a terrorist attack, all of which fueled criticism from Republican lawmakers, who said the administration had been playing down a threat for which it was unprepared.

“Thousands” of US Military Soldiers just got Pink Slips; Goal: 80,000

FOX News: Pentagon gives pink slips to hundreds of soldiers, including active-duty officers

    July 13 2014

The Pentagon is laying off thousands of military officers, including those serving or who have recently served in Afghanistan.

Defense Department officials said the reductions are the result of mandatory spending cuts imposed by sequestration and are part of their larger plan to reduce the number of U.S. soldiers from 520,000 to 450,000.

The decision to send pink slips to soldiers overseas on active duty is dangerous and bad for morale, says retired Major Gen. Robert Scales.

“It puts the soldier, the soldier’s families and the men under his command at risk,” said Scales, a Fox News contributor.

On Thursday, Gen. John Campbell told Congress that 1,100 soldiers, including some currently serving in Afghanistan, would receiving pink slips due to sequestration budget cuts to the Defense Department.

Oklahoma Sen. James Inhofe, the top Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, said in response:

“Once again [President Obama] is putting domestic politics ahead of the security of our nation. The Army captains and majors receiving pink slips while on the battlefield
is just the latest example. My heart goes out to these men and women who are risking their lives and making great sacrifices, yet are now being told they are being separated from the Army and will have no job when they return home to their families.”

Illegal Immigrant Children having a Blast at Ft. Sill Oklahoma

Kelly Ogle Goes Behind The Scenes At Fort Sill
    July 10 2014

    FORT SILL, Oklahoma –
For the first time, we were allowed inside Fort Sill to see the more than 1,000 children who crossed the border illegally and are now being housed there.

A handful of reporters loaded onto a van for the short ride over to Fort Sill’s Ferris Hall, a three-story, dormitory-style barracks.

The rooms have since been decorated by the teenagers.

In one of the girl’s dorms, the girls were doing crafts, some playing cards and board games on the floor and six others were dancing to a boom box playing “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.”

In the boy’s dorms, they were also playing games and several were twisting yard into bracelets.

Across the hall, caseworkers on laptops were meeting individually with about a dozen kids at a time.

Some were on the phone calling family here in the U.S. or even back in their home countries.

The kids get three meals a day in the cafeteria.
Today, it was tacos for lunch.

They’re given a health screening, vaccinations and about 3 days’ worth of clothes, which are washed twice a week.

The kids are also offered basic English classes, math, arts and crafts and optional bible study.

I was surprised to learn that the average stay at Fort Sill is only 15 days before these kids are discharged to relatives or sponsors, who are responsible for getting them back to immigration court.

Already 566 of these teenagers have been discharged from Fort Sill to states across the country, but the beds are quickly filled by new children.

Downstairs, a room full of teenagers, most over age 14 at this facility, were watching the movie “Frozen” in Spanish.

Catholic Charities Across the Country doing ICE and LAW enforcement work

Breaking: US Government Bypassing ICE Deptutizing Catholic Church Processing Illegals

    By J.E. Dyer on July 9, 2014

The first one I’ll lay out came from a caller to the Rush Limbaugh show on Tuesday (8 July). The caller and her husband wanted to let Limbaugh’s audience know that the Catholic Diocese* of San Bernardino, California, had signed on the day before, 7 July, to receive illegal immigrant children from the federal government and take care of them.

The diocese was asking parishioners from the area (which includes Murrieta, CA) to offer their homes to take the children in.

An emergency meeting was called by the diocesan leadership on Monday afternoon to discuss the plan. According to the Limbaugh show caller, there were about 100 people at the meeting, and about 70% of them concurred with the plan.

Probably the most interesting aspect of this is that the attendees at the diocesan meeting were told not to tell anyone about the plan, and especially not to speak to the media (emphasis added):

[Caller ANN]: They [the diocesan leadership] have made the decision that they’re going to absorb the immigrants that are coming through because the federal government called the bishop’s office on Monday and they’re gonna be busing these immigrants to our communities and asking us to open our homes and to house them for up to a month.

The church will reimburse us for any out-of-pocket expenses and we were told not to talk to anybody about it, especially the media.
RUSH: …Ann, I want to clarify. Did you say that it is the Catholic Church that the government called and asked for assistance?
    ANN: Yes.

ANN: Yes. That’s what they asked us, not to get the media involved. The diocese will reimburse us for any out-of-pocket expenses.

Notice, in case it needs emphasizing, that the report is that the federal government called the bishop.
This in itself is interesting; enlisting the Catholic Church would be a major policy decision on a matter with national-security implications.

    ICE field office stand-down?

The second report is the unconfirmed one. It comes from Eric Odom of Liberty News, who has a good track record of documenting and backing up his reports. Odom has a source in ICE who said on Monday that the agents of the Los Angeles Field Office, which covers Murrieta as well as Los Angeles,

    have been “furloughed” indefinitely –

although the description sounds like they’ve actually been put on vacation.
(If the full report is valid, the agents are receiving their pay but have been told not to show up for work.)

What this essentially means is that, if the reports are true, Obama has intentionally weakened American security without actually saving any money in the process.

Recall that ICE is the agency responsible for the follow-on processing of illegals after the Border Patrol coordinates their initial screening….

If it’s just a coincidence that the Catholic diocese decided to accept and house the illegals on the same day that a reporter (with no evident knowledge of this decision) heard from a credible source that the ICE Los Angeles Field Office had been quietly put on vacation – well, I’ll be very surprised.

Previously, the department would send information about arrestees to U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, which would then make requests for certain individuals to be detained longer so they could be turned over to ICE custody for possible deportation.

Under the new policy, which the LAPD began following last week, ICE detainer requests for individuals arrested on minor crimes will only be honored if there is a court warrant or the case has gone through the judicial system.

Superficially, this would all seem to be a case of local defiance (if judicially-backed defiance) against the federal government – which in turn would seem to be somewhat out of character for Mayor Eric Garcetti, a smooth-edged moderate-left Democrat who hasn’t been known, in his short time in office, for radical shenanigans.

On the other hand, Garcetti was arm in arm, as he made the announcement about ending the ICE agreement, with some of the same people who have been sponsoring the Astroturf pro-illegal counter-protests in Murrieta.

In sum, there’s something very wrong with this picture. It raises the possibility that a plan is already being worked behind the scenes to make the Murrieta Border Patrol station a moot point. The cozy relationship between authorities in California and the Obama administration seems to be in place to make that happen.

One thing is for certain: in going straight to the Catholic Diocese of San Bernardino and asking it to manage a plan for taking in illegals, the federal government is crossing a rule-of-law Rubicon – with or without a field-office “furlough” to take ICE out of the link.

    * The Limbaugh show transcript refers to the “Archdiocese” of San Bernardino, but San Bernardino is the seat of a diocese, not an archdiocese.

Congressman says Sneaky Human Traffickers want Illegal Children

TheDailyCaller: Congressman: Human Traffickers Asking HHS For Immigrant Children

    July 13 2014

A Republican congressman from Oklahoma says that individuals associated with human traffickers have asked the Department of Health and Human Services to hand over unaccompanied alien children being housed at a facility in the state.

“There have been cases of people who have attempted to be sponsors actually being identified as associated with trafficking organizations,” Rep. Jim Bridenstine told National Review Online in an interview on Saturday, after visiting Fort Sill, a U.S. army base outside of Lawton.

“Not only the official, but the contractor as well indicated that that has happened, but they didn’t know how many times,” Bridentstine said.

BCFS, which stands for Baptist Child & Family Services, is the contractor providing security for and maintaining the temporary shelter.

“If you can’t pay your coyote or your criminal organization, they will force you into slave labor or they will force you into prostitution,” Bridenstine told National Review Online.

“From my memory of today’s visit, the congressman asked if children were possibly being placed with sponsors here in the U.S. who owed money to the coyotes and were unable to pay their debts,” said Krista Piferrer, a spokeswoman for BCFS,

“BCFS believes that is happening, though there isn’t a test or tracking of such occurrences because it’s based on a gut feeling.”

That sense is “based on common knowledge that family members here in the U.S. are hiring coyotes to bring their children across the border,” said Piferrer.

“We suspect that some children may be released to sponsors who still owe money to smugglers,” she said, while adding that “children are never released into an environment that is suspected to be dangerous.”

HHS has final determination on to whose care unaccompanied children are released. The agency did not respond to TheDC’s request for comment.

Bridenstine’s visit to Fort Sill on Saturday was his second.

I think DHS or HHS whatever, pays $1000 to foster parents per child taken into their home.

And it appears by the flow, these Illegals are getting foster homes before our poor abused American children are getting into a foster home.

I heard there is already a backlog of 2 years for hearings.

So much for the financial and educational benefits illegals bring to the US.
Obama and DHS are lying. They are not going to be sent back.

WMD: Catholic Charities USA has taken on a major role in helping the federal government find temporary housing for the droves of Central Americans illegally crossing the border into the United States.

A woman at Catholic Charities headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia, told WND Friday that nobody on the group’s staff was available to talk about the border crisis outreach program because they were “all out on travel,” including the charity’s media relations officer.

“Everyone’s on travel down to the border and she is down there as well,” the woman said. “They’re going in shifts. And many of the diocesan people (from the local Catholic diocese) are down there as well.”

The group has been working to provide aid to border crossers since June at a facility in McAllen, Texas, but it’s not clear how long it has been raising money for the aid program.

Victor Brabele, a spokesman for U.S. Customs and Border Patrol in Arizona,
said he could not comment on whether the Catholic Church or any other church groups were working with the government to place illegal immigrants in temporary shelters.

But NBC4 News in Los Angeles reported Thursday that St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fontana, California, was receiving daily busloads of illegal immigrants and

housing them in a former convent that is not even zoned for overnight stays.

The report opens with concerns about whether the church’s helping hand for the illegals “is even legal.”

John Andrews, communications director for the Catholic Diocese of San Bernardino, told WND that the diocese is working directly with the Department of Homeland Security to temporarily house the illegal immigrants.

Andrews said the church was told by the government to expect a new busload of illegal immigrants every 72 hours. He said the initiative grew out of a meeting last week with a representative of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

“I guess I would say they contacted us….” he told WND. “… But we were able to have a meeting with a representative of ICE last week,…”

Andrews said most of the immigrants are being sent out of state, to cities throughout the Midwest and along the Eastern Seaboard.

The U.S. Catholic Bishops declined to comment Friday with respect to the work being performed by the church at the southern border, referring all questions to Catholic Charities USA, whose designated spokeswoman did not respond.

The Catholic Church has long been a supporter of amnesty proposals in the United States. The Catholic Bishops lay out their position on immigration here.

Brabele said Border Patrol’s job is to apprehend and process the illegals, and then have them turned over to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, which runs a child welfare agency called the Administration for Children and Families.

“We do not work directly with the Catholic Church,” Brabele said. “That would be HHS.

But as far as Catholic Services, HHS is responsible for working with NGO groups like that.”

HHS referred all questions on the issue of working with church groups to Kenneth Wolfe, whose calls were being screening Friday

Some members of Congress are also worried about the lack of information being released on the young immigrants who are transported to various American cities. The concern is that some may have gang affiliations.

      Sen. Mark Kirk, R-Illinois,
sent letters on July 10 to the U.S. ambassadors to Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras requesting information that would document whether or not those embassies had conducted criminal background checks
on the 429 Central American children who recently were transported to Chicago.

Kirk said in a statement July 10 that he was not even notified before the illegals showed up in his state.

“I just learned that 429 unaccompanied minors from the Mexican border crisis are now in Chicago and currently in Health and Human Services custody, but our State Department is unable to confirm if any of these individuals has a criminal record or background,” Kirk said. “If any of these individuals has a criminal record in their home country, our government owes it to the American people to facilitate a sharing of records and reassure our nation that these individuals pose no threat.”

Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, traveled to the Texas border in late June to assess the situation.

“…They could be over 20, but they don’t have any ID and you just have to take their word for it.”

Gohmert said he talked to two women who said the fathers of their children were in North Carolina with good jobs and that they wanted to go there.

More State Leaders Learning Illegal Immigrant Children Secretly Sent to their States with not Knowing and Placed in Secret Places

FOX: Nebraska gov, Illinois senator say White House sending illegal immigrant children to their states without notice July 13 2014

Elected officials in two states far from the U.S.-Mexico border have claimed that the Obama administration has resettled hundreds of unaccompanied illegal immigrant children without adequate notice
and has refused to detail the exact locations where the children are being kept.

Fox News has learned that 748 unaccompanied minors have been transferred from areas near the border to the Chicago area. Of the original group of 748 kids, 319 have been placed with family members or sponsors while they await an immigration hearing. The other 429 have been placed in facilities run by the Heartland Alliance, a nonprofit organization that receives grants from the Department of Health and Human Services.

Sen. Mark Kirk, R-Ill., told Fox News Friday that he did not know the exact locations of the facilities where the children were being kept, and stated his belief that the White House did not want the children’s living conditions to be made public.

Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman told the Wall Street Journal Saturday that 200 children were sent to his state without warning,
and added that federal officials had refused to give him their names and locations.

… Heineman, a Republican, told The Journal. “We need to know who they are, and so far, they are saying they’re not going to give us that information.”

A White House official told the Journal that the Nebraska children were all being held with family and sponsors pending the outcome of immigration proceedings, and none were placed at a central facility. The official also told the paper that while some of the children arrived in the U.S. during the recent border surge, others crossed earlier in the year.

Federal law requires that illegal immigrant children from countries other than Canada and Mexico have their cases heard in immigration courts, which can take years to resolve a case.
Just in…Illegal Immigrants Secretly Flown to Massachusettes

Boston Herald: Illegal Immigrants Flown to Bay State

llegal immigrants are being secretly flown to Massachusetts and kept in local lockups in an under-the-radar operation that has alarmed lawmen who are raising health and security concerns amid recent spikes in detainees coming up from Texas during the latest border crisis.

“We’re all becoming border sheriffs now with these people being carted all over the country,” said Bristol County Sheriff Thomas M. Hodgson.

Hodgson said buses from his facility were recently used to transport
six planeloads of illegals sent up from San Antonio to Hanscom Field in Bedford en route to the Plymouth County
Correctional Facility.

The sheriff said he’s also heard of 100 immigrant children recently arriving in his county. But he couldn’t say if they are part of the deluge of 50,000 unaccompanied kids crossing the nation’s southern border.

On the receiving end of the buses from Hodgson’s facility was Plymouth County Sheriff Joseph D. McDonald Jr., who said he’s seen a jump in illegal immigrants arriving at his jail and had to deal with “scenarios where we’ve had 100-plus detainees coming in at the same time.”

Hodgson called for sheriffs across the United States to “mobilize” on the red-hot immigration issue and confront the feds over their failure to communicate with local officials.

After weeks of denying an increase in flights to the Bay State,
federal immigration officials finally admitted this weekend that four planes filled with detainees captured at the southern border have been flown to Hanscom and Logan International Airport since April as part of a “large-scale nationwide response” to the crisis.

Three other flights chartered by ICE since then have stopped in Massachusetts to pick up illegals and deport them, Daniel Modricker, an ICE spokesman said. A small percentage were granted asylum in Massachusetts, he added.

Modricker declined to comment on Hodgson’s report of other flights of illegals into Hanscom.

Syndicated columnist Michelle Malkin, who first reported the secret flights in June…, said last night she wasn’t surprised when officials originally lined up to deny her story.

    “… It’s becoming a nationwide problem.”

BuffaloNews: Officials Seeking Shelter for Young Illegal Immigrants Thought Island Hotel was Vvacant

WASHINGTON – A humanitarian tragedy at the U.S.-Mexican border took a weirdly comic turn in Grand Island on Friday, as federal officials showed up at what they thought was a vacant hotel that might be able to house children who entered the country illegally – only to discover the fully occupied and recently renamed Byblos Niagara Resort and Spa.

The federal agents arrived unannounced at about 10 a.m. to inspect the 263-room property for possible use as housing for some of the 52,000 unaccompanied minors who have been apprehended at the southern border this year.

“They were thinking the hotel was abandoned and closed,” said Scott Swagler, the general manager of the facility, a former Holiday Inn undergoing a $10 million renovation.

One of the visitors was a Customs and Border Patrol agent and another had a badge that said “DHS” (Department of Homeland Security), Swagler said.

Judging from their questions, it seemed they were doing a security analysis of the building, he added.

An occupancy analysis might have been more helpful, given that the hotel is currently fully booked and will be for much of the summer, according to Swagler.

What’s more, a Google search would have revealed that the facility – previously a Holiday Inn that notoriously hosted an “Entice the Falls” swingers convention in 2009 –

“We feature tastefully appointed guest rooms with balconies overlooking the river, a fitness center, indoor and outdoor pools, plus a sauna and whirlpool,” the hotel’s website says.

It was also apparently a complete shock to the government agents to discover what the Byblos Niagara Resort and Spa is really like.

After seeing the facility, the government officials – who did not leave business cards – left, telling Swagler, “It looks like there’s been a mistake.”

Local officials and members of Congress did not know the building was under consideration for housing children living in the country without legal permission until Friday afternoon, when they received an email from Fatima A. Cuevas, deputy assistant secretary for legislation at the Department of Health and Human Services, where the Administration for Children and Families’ Office of Refugee Resettlement is trying to accommodate all the new arrivals.

“The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and General Services Administration will be conducting an initial assessment of Lexington Commerce Center in Rochester, NY (located at 1600 Lexington Ave.)
and the Byblos Niagara Resort in Grand Island, NY (located at 100 Whitehaven Road) to determine whether it may be used as a facility for temporarily housing children…

The government agents’ unusual visit to the Byblos resort came on the same day that the Obama administration announced a series of measures aimed at stemming the tide of Salvadoran, Guatemalan and Honduran families fleeing to the U.S.

(((Remember, Obama and DHS are saying the opposite.))))))

According to the New York Times, Berghdal will move from therapy to a regular soldier’s job as part of his reintegration process and will live on barracks and share with two soldiers who will help with his readjustment.

Last week it emerged that he is being allowed to wander off the Texas base and while under supervision he has visited a library, a supermarket, stores and fast-food chains near the camp.

During the trips, Bergdahl sometimes wears civilian clothing and other times dresses in his military uniform, leading passersby to recognize him and shake his hand, an Army spokesperson told CNN.

The details have emerged as soldiers who served with Bergdahl before he left his post in Afghanistan in 2009 revealed they have still not been contacted by military investigators.

Members of Bergdahl’s unit – including the platoon leader – have previously said they believe he deserted his post in June 2009 before seeking out the enemy.

But when he was swapped for five Guantanamo Bay detainees on May 31, President Obama gave him a hero’s welcome and said the switch had been prompted by Bergdahl’s poor health.

Perhaps Bergdhal could get a job working with Illegal Immigrant Children.

Illegal Immigrant Released by DHS Charged with Murder and Kidnapping Children Covered up Media

Illegal Alien Released by Obama Charged With Murder; AP Report Conceals Immigration Status

by Brian Hayes | Top Right News – July 17 2014

An illegal alien who was released by U.S. authorities with a Notice to Appear has been arrested for the alleged murder of a woman and kidnapping of children on U.S. soil — and the news organization breaking the news hid the fact that he was here illegally.

The alleged crimes occurred after the man was released by Obama’s DHS.

    As Breitbart reported:

The man, Pedro Alberto Monterroso-Navas, entered the U.S. illegally with children and turned himself in to U.S. Border Patrol agents. He was processed and released, as are all illegal immigrants who come as unaccompanied minors or incomplete family units from Central America. The alien is from Honduras.

The arrest was first reported by the Associated Press (AP), but Breitbart has confirmed that the man was part of the Obama Administration’s catch and release policy for family groups from Central America.

A U.S. Border Patrol source who spoke with Breitbart Texas on the condition of anonymity provided Breitbart Texas with the alien registration number for the man, and the event number for the man’s apprehension. He was processed in the McAllen station of the U.S. Border Patrol. The alien’s registration number is 202027386. The event number for his apprehension is MCS14061487. The “MCS” designates the McAllen station, the “1406” designates that the man was apprehended in June of 2014. A separate Border Patrol source confirmed that the man was apprehended on June 26, 2014 with two children he claimed were his own. He told U.S. authorities he had family in Metairie, Louisiana.

The AP identified the illegal alien as a “suburban New Orleans man” who faces a second-degree murder charge after his girlfriend was found bludgeoned to death in a bathtub in Louisiana. The man was arrested in a Katy, Texas trailer park with three children. It is unclear if they are his or if they are the same children he used to get U.S. authorities to release him with a Notice to Appear.

The AP did not inform their readers that the man was an illegal alien.

“It is unclear if they are his or if they are the same children he used to get U.S. authorities to release him with a Notice to Appear.”

And the children are taught to lie to the bad Americans.

FoxNews: Fed-backed group drops plan to buy fancy hotel to house illegals

    July 17 2014 – By Fred Starnes

BCFS, previously known as Baptist Child and Family Services, which has a contract with the Department of Health and Human Services to run camps at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio and Fort Sill in Oklahoma, had a deal to buy the Palm Aire Hotel in Weslaco, Texas, for $3.8 million.

The Palm Aire Hotel is not exactly Club Med but the 7-acre site features three swimming pools, lighted tennis courts, concierge service and a Jacuzzi.

Officials said the project never reached the point of submitting a proposal to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services,
but one of the hotel’s current owners confirmed that a sales agreement with BCSF had been in place.

The deal died Wednesday afternoon, hours after FoxNews.com reported that as many as 600 children between the ages of 12-17 could be placed at the Palm Aire, where BCFS would also provide medical and mental health care and educational and recreational programs under a contract that sources said could total as much as $50 million.

BCSF had planned to hire 650 workers –
some making upward of $45 per hour – to staff the facility, according to sources.

Officials said the location made sense, even if it made for bad optics.

But images of the hotel’s amenities generated a backlash that officials said could not be overcome.

“We are not going to continue with trying to purchase that hotel,” a source close to the plan told Fox News. “It was just too controversial. We should have known better, no matter what the cost.”

    (more and pics)

The Palm Aire Hotel saved $ millions and are just thrilled for the international advertisment for their resort.
