My friend in Kansas who calls whenever they have tornadoes was telling me people come from China just to see a tornado. He said it was the strangest thing, because it’s so common and normal and they are just elated and amazed. I found this, one of many to share with him and tell him to start up a business if they have Chinese going to the land of The Wizard of Oz. He could turn his old tri-plex into a little camp home and show videos when it’s boring. Have a little dog that runs around the place and call it Toto. Talk about liability waiver.

是我們在堪薩斯尚未 ToTo 嗎? (Are we in Kansas yet Toto?)

Tourists pay thousands to see a tornado. It’s a spiritual thing.

Group sets meeting to increase tolerance of Muslims, culture
Posted on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 1:15 pm

    CITY EDITOR-brian justice

A special meeting has been scheduled for the stated purpose of increasing awareness and understanding that American Muslims are not the terrorists some have made them out to be in social media and other circles.

“Public Disclosure in a Diverse Society” will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, at the Manchester-Coffee County Conference Center, 147 Hospitality Blvd.

Special speakers for the event will be Bill Killian, U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Tennessee, and Kenneth Moore, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Knoxville Division…

Killian and Moore will provide input on how civil rights can be violated by those who post inflammatory documents targeted at Muslims on social media. “This is also to inform the public what federal laws are in effect and what the consequences are.”

Killian said the presentation will also focus on Muslim culture and how, that although terrorist acts have been committed by some in the faith, they are no different from those in other religions.

Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols were both Christians as was the guy who shot up the Sikh temple,” Killian said.

Like Killian, Mohyuddin said word needs to be spread so more people understand the Muslim culture.

Can you believe this crap? Why should Muslims in this country get special treatment. Nobody seems to mind when people besmirch Christian culture. The US attorney just did when he called McVeigh and Nichols Christians. There’s no Christian denomination I’ve ever heard of that allows you to blow up innocent children. I don’t think those two were church going fellows. What BS!! But muslims who commit terrorism are the most DEVOUT among their brethren.

They think they’re going to prosecute people for insulting islam they can start with me. I won’t do it here because I respect you people and Steve’s site too much but I’ll be glad to tell these idiots what I think about the “religion of peace” right to their damn faces.

I think the US Attorney missed part of the 1st ammendment…does freedom of speech ring a bell dummy? They have the freedom to practice their religion and I have the right to talk crap about it. And vice versa.

So we call them names on facebook and they behead us in the streets. Seems like an even trade…(sarc)

Let’s never forget what the Kenyan told the UN:

“The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.”

You conservatives are too old – the only answer is to go liberal!!

From Inside Radio (a Radio trade publication):

PDs: Talk must evolve to reverse aging demos

News/talk remains radio’s second most listened to format with a highly educated, high-income audience. But new Arbitron data shows the format’s mostly white male audience is getting older — and smaller. For radio’s top-billing talk station, the answer is going beyond politics.

After peaking at a lofty 14.1 national share in fall 2008, news/talk has been on a steady downward slope. It slipped 6% from a 12.1 in fall 2011 to 11.4 in spring 2012. The format is home to radio’s oldest listeners: Nearly 6 in 10 now are aged 55+. To reverse the trend, programmers say news/talk needs to become more inclusive — in the hosts it employs, the topics they talk about, and the audience they target.

“There is a core audience for [political talk] but I strongly believe there are many other things of interest to the 25-54 audience that talk radio is missing,” says veteran talk programmer Laurie Cantillo, who now oversees Hubbard Broadcasting all-news WTOP-FM, Washington, DC (103.5). “It’s knowing what the pulse of the community is and reflecting that on the air, as opposed to trying to advance a particular agenda,” she says.

Saga Communications EVP/group PD Steve Goldstein agrees it’s time for the format to evolve. “Stations are seeing a narrowing of appeal, possibly mirroring some of the demographic challenges of the Republican Party,” he says. …

    The article concludes:

When recruiting, Bertolucci says it’s important to convey an outreach message that “you’re not necessarily looking for a Republican or someone who has been in talk radio forever.” The station’s Hispanic audience is about 16% and it’s doing a little better than the format norm in attracting women with a 55/45 male-female split, compared to the 59/41 national average. “Talk radio is for people that are interested in what’s going on,” she says. “That’s not limited to one gender or ethnic group or demographic.”

See? The answer is to not be so conservative and to target women and Hispanics!!

Where have we heard that before?

    • GetBackJack says:

Hmmm. And here I’ve been programmed to curse ‘Profiling’ but this article tells me Profiling is the key to election success.

      I’m so confused.

    • Noyzmakr says:

When you read the whole article you come to one conclusion. Because no one under 50, female, and only about 1/3 of hispanics and less than half of blacks listen to talk/news radio that must mean Rush Limbaugh is a racist, sexist, bigoted homophobe and republicans hate you.

      How enlightening.

One of these days the golden goose will retire and they can all go back to the audiences of the 70’s and 80’s where nobody listened but UFO, ghost seeing lunatics that believe the Earth is hollow and a huge planet, no one can see, is going to wipe us all out. Then NPR can takeit’s proper place and rule again.

  4. River0 says:

Robot Control, the latest bright idea from the UN. It will certainly work out just as well as gun control.

They say nations must “sign a moratorium” on their development “before the genie is out of the bottle”. The genie is already WAY OUT OF THE BOTTLE.

    From Fox News today:

GENEVA – Nations should agree to a moratorium on developing robots for war that can function autonomously before it is too late to stop their use, a U.N. human rights expert warned Thursday.

U.N. special rapporteur Christof Heyns urged a temporary freeze on producing or using so-called killer robots, saying it would give nations time to think through the implications of creating them while “the genie is still in the bottle” technologically.

Programming machines to kill without humans making decisions could encourage more wars and make it more difficult to hold anyone accountable for war crimes, he told reporters in Geneva.

“Time is of the essence,” he said of the need to decide now on how to use the robots, before they become a practical reality. “Trying to stop technology is a bit like trying to stop time itself — it moves on.”….

So….is this the birth of Skynet® and the terminators or Graystone Industries® and the cylons?

Seems to me that good ol’ planet earth needs to worry more about muslims killing people before robots. After all, muslims are much cheaper and easily reproduced.

  5. canary says:

Killian is deplorable to say McVeigh was a Christian, because in interviews and letters he at one point believed in God like like the Muslims during the war, and before his death, wasn’t sure there was even a God.

What can be expected from an attorney who was hand picked by Muslim who says Christianity is the same as Islam. Dumb.

Killian is stupid. So many in Tennessee are inbred. Some really nice people in Tennessee.
Kentucky can only be a little glad he’s not in their state.

Islamic radicals and parents who hit their children could soon be ‘cured’ by science, leading neurologist claims

    May 30 2013

A leading academic has claimed that religious fundamentalism could soon be treated in the same way as mental illness.

Kathleen Taylor, a science author and research scientist at the University of Oxford, told the Hay Literary Festival techniques were already under development to help curb radicalised[sic] beliefs.

She also claimed behaviours[sic] such as hitting children could be treated with similar techniques.

Miss Taylor has written series of books on the future of neurology, and says advances such as dream reading, mind control and others could soon create major privacy issues.

She was speaking at the Hay Literary Festival in Wales, once described by Bill Clinton, the former US President, as the “Woodstock of the mind” as it celebrated diverse ideas.

She said: “One man’s positive can be another man’s negative. One of the surprises may be to see people with certain beliefs as people who can be treated.

She described the study of the chemistry of the brain as “old technology” that had been around since people first started drinking alcohol.

Kathleen Taylor seems to belong to a cult and needs deprogramming. Perhaps she first tried LSD at Woodstock which has led to flashbacks of Bill Clinton controlling her mind.

Grand Island Preschooler Asked to Change the Sign for His Name in School

The Grand Island (Neb.) school district is forcing a 3-year-old deaf boy to change the way he signs his name, because they say his gestures violate their weapons policy. Preschooler Hunter Spanjer’s personalized name sign is a registered sign with Signing Exact English — a modified form of American Sign Language — and involves extended index fingers that the district says resembles a gun.
“We are working with the parents to come to the best solution we can for the child,” a school spokesperson said.

UPDATE: Since this story was posted, the school district has relented and has allowed the 3-year-old to keep his name. I believe it was because of the outpouring of support this boy got for the school’s stupidity. Not to mention it being a civil rights violation, First Amendment violation, and most likely an ADA violation.

    What have we become…

    Frank Lautenberg assumes room temperature

    From the NYT.

Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D) New Jersey is dead at 89.

Mr. Lautenberg was the Senate’s oldest member and last surviving veteran of World War II. He had been frequently absent from the Senate in recent months because of failing health but did appear in April in a wheelchair to cast votes in favor of tougher gun-control measures, which were defeated.

Isn’t great that the last vote of his “lofty” career was a vote against the constitunion of which he fought to defend in WWII and took an oath to uphold in the Senate?…5 times.

Gov. Chris Christie (R) New Jersey makes the choice for his replacement. C’mon Govenor, choose Anthony Weiner and inhance your GOP nomination chances by reaching across the isle. No matter he’s not a citizen of NJ. When did the law begin to matter?

Every time I hear of one of these parasites who hang on in spite of their senescence, I’m reminded of the birthday party for the old man in the movie ‘The Great Outdoors’.

Lautenberg, if he had a shred of dignity, should have stayed retired the first time. Instead, he runs again, a) because he can win, and b) so he can poke his finger in the eye of conservatives by contributing to a Democrat majority.

While I wish no sorrow on his relations, I certainly hope he is reaping every measure of justice his moldy carcass merits.

The Atlanta Wire: Michelle Obama Stares Down Heckler at a Fundraiser

By Abby Ohlheiser June 4 2013

Obama, speaking at a private fundraiser in Northwest Washington, was interrupted by Ellen Sturtz, who wanted the First Lady to get the President to sign an executive order banning LGBT discrimination.

According to a pool report from the Huffington Post’s Amanda Terkel, Sturtz’s interruption began halfway through Obama’s 20-minute speech. Obama, interrupted, paused, and proceeded to confront Sturtz face-to-face:

    “You all decide.”
    “You have one choice.”

“Basically, I was asked by the first lady to be quiet, and I can’t be quiet any longer,” Sturtz said, adding, “she obviously thought she was going to make an example of me or something. I wasn’t scared at all.”

“She came right down in my face…I was taken aback.”

Notably, the confrontation isn’t spelled out in the official transcript of the First Lady’s speech. Sturtz’s interjection is simply written off as “inaudible:”

MRS. OBAMA: And I don’t care what you believe in, we don’t —

MRS. OBAMA: Wait, wait, wait. One of the things —

MRS. OBAMA: One of the things that I don’t do well is this. (Applause.) Do you understand? (Applause.) One of the things — now —

The Daily Caller: Let’s starve! Kids forced to go hungry for hours during Michelle Obama media event

      Eric Owens 03/04/2013

A very courageous fifth-grade teacher in the Chicago Public Schools has written a scathing critique of the almost comical misery she and her students endured when they participated in a massive February 28 event kicking off Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! Active Schools campaign.

Lisa Putnam and her fifth grades most certainly did not experience the event the same way, however. According to Putnam, the event at Chicago’s McCormick Place (the largest convention center in North America) was an unmitigated catastrophe.

CPS Chatter — “a forum of CPS parents and teachers” — has Putnam’s full tongue-lashing.

“If you are a parent, imagine that you take your child on a trip and they are very excited,” writes Putnam. “Now imagine they have to wait on a bus and stand in straight lines for three hours straight. Then imagine after one hour of ‘fun’ that they have to sit around and wait for three more hours that bus to pick them up. Oh, did I mention that are not allowed to have a morsel of food the entire time?”

Most of the 90-minute trip to the convention center was spent sitting behind all the other busses full of kids staffers had shipped in as props.

After standing in line for a security check that went reasonably well, it was time to stand in line for t-shirts.

“When my 10 year old students received their XL men’s t-shirts, I did my best to tell them with a straight face that the shirts would shrink and the girls could maybe wear them as a dress,” Putnam writes.

When Michelle Obama finally came out, she didn’t face the children.

“She was facing the media,” reports Putnam.

“My students continually came up to me to tell me that they were hungry and ask why this was happening…”

Shocking updates on Ft. Hood terrorist Maj Hasan.

In spite of admitting to the slaughter in aid and defense to a known Taliban organization he is still receiving full military officer pay and benefits since 2009 amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars and free medical pay.

The Washington Times: Fort Hood shooting suspect Maj. Nidal Hasan: I was protecting the Taliban

    By Cheryl K. Chumley – June 5 2013

The Army psychiatrist on trial for killing 13 people in a mass shooting on Fort Hood in 2009 said during testimony Tuesday that he thought he was protecting Taliban leadership in Afghanistan from the U.S. military.

Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan’s statements came a day after the judge gave him the go-ahead to defend himself in the trial.

The defense of others refers to “the leadership of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, the Taliban,” he said, naming Mullah Omar, the founder of the Islamic militant group, the Glober reported.

The Globe reported many in the courtroom were stunned by the admission, which he delivered in a quiet, matter-of-fact tone.

The judge asked Maj. Hasan for further explanation and, following a brief break, he said he would rather give her a clarification in writing and not “brainstorm in front of the court,” the Globe reported.

    Atlus Shruggs:

    June 5 2013

This would be comical if it weren’t so monstrous. Jihadis yelling at Obama, ‘it’s jihad, stupid!’

The vicitms of the Fort Hood jihadi deserve benefits and combat honors. Obama is a disgrace and a traitor.

Fort Hood shooter blasts Obama admin story
‘I was defending Taliban’ in attack Washington called ‘workplace violence’
For years, the Obama administration has maintained that the victims of the 2009 shooting at Fort Hood, for which Islamist Maj. Hidal Hasan is charged, simply were in the crosshairs of a situation of “workplace violence.”

The victims – 13 people were killed and nearly another three dozen were injured when, according to witnesses, Hasan shouted “Allahu Akbar” and started firing at people – have been denied benefits and combat honors because the government insisted there was no link to terror.

The Fort Hood attack was the worst shooting on an American military base.

Hasan had been on federal officials’ radar screen for at least six months prior to the shooting over postings he made on the Internet. He likened a suicide bomber who kills women and children to a soldier who throws himself on a grenade to give his life in a “noble cause.”

In spite of this, Attorney General Eric Holder declined to press terrorism charges against Hasan.

Instead the government has labeled the shooting as a case of “workplace violence.” During a memorial service for the victims, President Obama never once used the word terrorism.

The designation has prevented survivors and the victim’s families from receiving Purple Hearts and being able to obtain combat-related special compensation.

He needs to be put in front of a firing squad.
I never knew there was 13 gun firing salute in the military, and these aren’t just guns.
