    From Breitbart.com
Corker Amendment Permanently Offers Citizenship to Those Overstaying Their Visa
Mike Flynn 21 Jun 2013, 3:35 PM PDT

Buried within the text of the Amendment is a seemingly innocuous provision:

    (f) APPLICABILITY OF CERTAIN GROUNDS OF INADMISSIBILITY.—In determining an alien’s inadmissibility under this section, section 212(a)(9)(B) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1182(a)(9)(B)) shall not apply.

    What does that mean?

Current law states that those applying for green cards are ineligible if they are either “illegally present” at any point or overstay the terms of their work visa. Such an immigrant, in current law, would have to return to their home country and restart the immigration process. The Corker Amendment wipes away that enforcement mechanism.

Anyone suprised? The GOP is just as corrupt as the demoncrats, except the dems don’t lie to their constituents as much.

… and that doesn’t mean just Mexicans. It means savage Maras13 gangs from Guatemala. The Wah Ching and White Dragon gangs from China. The unspeakably evil MS-13 gang from Central America. African gangs. Islamic terrorists. Etc. Any thug in the country illegally Corker wants “citizenfy” and start ’em up on Federal benefits.

      Good move, Corker.

The Guardian: Istanbul anxious to stay focused on 2020 vision for Olympic Games “Bridge Together”. Imagine a 20 billion dollars bid, after US just gave US aid and Angelina Jolie is begging for help for the Syria refugees flooding Turkey.

    James Riach – June 24 2013

A sporting event seven years from now may not be the priority for a country in the midst of its biggest political crisis in years, yet while the protests in Istanbul have rocked the country and sent shockwaves across the world, Turkey remains focused on securing the 2020 Olympics.

The landscape has shifted significantly since the IOC’s evaluation commission visited Istanbul in March.

Then the talk centred around the bid’s slogan “bridge together”, with emphasis on an east meets west mantra that at the time held a poignant resonance.

“If the world were a single state, Istanbul would be its capital,” Napoleon once said of a city where the Bosphorus separates Europe and Asia.

    (cough. cough)

A youthful and vibrant population (50% of Turkey’s 76 million inhabitants are under 25) was regarded as one of the bid’s key strengths.

However, the police’s handling of the recent protests in Taksim Square that began following a peaceful demonstration against the pending redevelopment of neighbouring Gezi Park has caused widespread condemnation.

Approximately 5,000 people have been injured during the protests and at least four have died, with police using teargas, rubber bullets and water cannon to dispel those who were initially unhappy that the small inner-city park was to be turned into another shopping centre, with the situation since escalating.

    Istanbul’s bid budget for infrastructure is $19.2bn (£12.5bn), compared with Toyko’s $4.9bn and Madrid’s $1.9bn.

Turkey’s culture and tourism minister, Omar Celic, hopes the lure of a first Games in a Muslim country will be appealing to the IOC.

Istanbul’s bid team have responded swiftly to the problems in the city, which recently saw a number of people hold a silent vigil in Taksim Square

following one man’s decision to stand still for eight hours, facing a portrait of Kemal Ataturk, the founder of modern, secular Turkey.

Ugur Erdener, the president of the Turkish National Olympic Committee, believes the bid can be strengthened by the protests.

A bid insider told the Guardian: “The IOC is not asking for reassurances but we are providing them anyway. The protests have to be put in perspective.

Istanbul is not burning and the people are not against bringing the Olympics here.”

Istanbul has set aside $19.2bn for its infrastructure costs, dwarfing Tokyo’s $4.9bn and Madrid’s $1.9bn.

It seems an extortionate amount although Turkey claim a significant proportion of that sum will be spent on long-term projects regardless of whether they are awarded the Games or not.

    Istanbul Bridge Together

Is Turkey using the US aid money meant for Syria for the Olympics? Does Angelina Jolie know about this as she presently tours the starving and maimed Syrians sleeping in the mud of Turkey?

Sessions Issues Statement On Tonight’s Procedural Vote To Advance 1,200-Page Substitute Immigration Bill
    Monday, June 24, 2013

“The Gang of Eight and their allies revealed their true tactics tonight. They shut down debate and blocked amendments to a 1,200-page immigration bill that no one has read… This legislation is a crushing blow to the working people of this country, a surrender to illegality, and a capitulation to special interests over the interests of the citizens we pledged to represent.”

WASHINGTON—U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), a senior member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, issued the following statement after tonight’s vote:

“The sponsors of the Corker-Hoeven substitute fell short of the votes they expected tonight to advance what they had erroneously billed to other Senators as a strong border security amendment. Failure to capture the votes they anticipated for this motion demonstrates the building unease this 1,200-page legislative monstrosity has created. I expect that unease will increase as Senators learn more about what’s really inside this proposal.

The Gang of Eight and their allies revealed their true tactics tonight. They shut down debate and blocked amendments to a 1,200-page immigration bill that no one has read. It was anything but the open and fair process that they had promised.

What we know for absolute certain is that this bill guarantees three things: instantaneous amnesty, permanent lawlessness, and a massive expansion in legal immigration that will reduce wages for working Americans. This legislation is a crushing blow to the working people of this country, a surrender to illegality, and a capitulation to special interests over the interests of the citizens we pledged to represent.”

    · Immediate amnesty before enforcement
    · Guts legal requirement for biometric exit-entry system
    · Millions of green cards (permanent residency) before enforcement—debunking another false claim from sponsors
    · No border surge. Agents aren’t required until 2021. It will never happen
    · No fence requirement. DHS retains discretion in the bill that preempts the call for a fence in ten years. Litigation also provides an escape hatch to never build the fence. The fence won’t happen
    · Legalization for gang members and convicted criminals
    · Amnesty for future visa overstays (in other words, a prospective amnesty for future illegal immigrants)
    · Guaranteed welfare access for illegal immigrants
    · Undermines interior enforcement, prompting ICE officers to warn: “There is no doubt that, if passed, public safety will be endangered and massive amounts of future illegal immigration—especially visa overstays—is ensured.”
    · Expands non-merit chain migration—less than 10 percent of future flow is merit-based
    · Doubles the number of guest workers and triples the number of immigrants granted lawful permanent residency—reducing wages for U.S. workers and driving up unemployment
