Obama holds Sports Injury Summit at White House, while Veterans are left to die.

Forbes: President Obama To Convene White House Summit On Youth Concussions

The “Healthy Kids and Safe Sports Concussion Summit” is also a step toward addressing the growing public health demand for viable approaches and solutions to concussion identification, evaluation and management at the youth level—something that was never addressed adequately in the previous decades.

As a result, the Institute of Medicine (IOM) and the National Research Council published a report last fall detailing that we have a lack of usable data about concussions predominately in youth sports, along with a “culture of resistance” in which some children and teen athletes do not self-report concussions or concussive symptoms to avoid “being placed on the bench.”

…, President Obama wants to make it clear that sport-related concussions are a national priority and so deserve a place in our national discussion.

    As an avid sports fan,
Obama knows and appreciates the dangers of sports related concussions
and wants all parents to have a discussion with their children to ensure their health and safety not only while engaged in sports, but in the years to come after they may not be competing.

By convening the summit, the President’s goal is to produce a united effort among key stakeholders including the NCAA, NFL and MLS and to forge new research and collaborative efforts that will result in novel ways for parents, trainers, coaches, and physicians to not only prevent, but spot concussions earlier and react with more effective treatments.

While there have been no major advances in the treatment and management of concussions in the past 30 years, …

One area of research for concussion awareness and thus management has involved the use of

scalp and helmet- mounted sensor technology as a method to detect the force of a hit,

and thus produce a cumulative “hit count”.

X2Bio, a specialized engineering company based in Seattle, has been at the forefront of advancing such technology for use in youth sports.

In fact, X2’s specialized ICE concussion software was recently adopted by all 32 NFL teams for sideline evaluation for players with suspected concussion.

“Having the Chief Executive of our country focusing on the brain health of our nation’s children is a very worthwhile and positive initiative indeed,” added Rich Able, Co Founder, X2 Biosystems.

Overall, Track-TBI represents part of a national effort designed to produce a unified database of so-called “common data elements” which can be shared among researchers in order to effect viable solutions to the complexities of concussions an traumatic brain injury (TBI).

This dataset will help to populate the Federal Interagency Traumatic Brain Injury Research (FITBIR) databank, an informatics system that provides a collaborative platform for imaging, assessment, and genomics research.

And an organization based in Seattle,

One Mind, is at the forefront of promoting the concept of shared data.

The future appears to be quite promising,

with the President taking an important first step toward having an open and ongoing national conversation about the potentially life changing effects of traumatic brain injuries and concussions that may begin in childhood.

White House press secretary Jay Carney leaving.

(CNN) — Jay Carney is stepping down as White House press secretary, President Barack Obama announced on Friday.
Obama said Carney told him of his decision in April, and Carney later said he plans to leave the position in mid-June.
The President announced that deputy press secretary Josh Earnest will step into the role.
Obama considers Carney “one of my closest friends.”
“He’s got good judgment. He has good temperament and he’s got a good heart, and I will miss him a lot,” Obama said.

2-a traitor who aids an occupying enemy force; collaborator .

    (quisling is synonymous with traitor,)

I noticed all the news omits after Obama saying Carney is one of his “closest friends”.., that he (Obama) is going to continue to use Carney as”an adviser”.

Now why would Obama continue to ask advice from Carney?

Carney isn’t a policy maker, so it must mean Obama wants to learn how to lie as well as Carney,
or Obama can’t keep up with his lies, and he will call Carney to remember for him.

Carney’s is arrogant he sneers and looks down at the press as he lies.

I can’t imagine how anyone, especially his family could trust him to him to tell the truth.
      Habits are hard to break.

Obama chose Earnest because he can keep Obama up on sports and drinking beer.

Bergdahl freed from captivity in Afghanistan

(KTVB.COM by Associated Press & Jim Miklaszewski, NBC)

The only American soldier held prisoner in Afghanistan has been freed and is back in U.S. custody after nearly five years of captivity, U.S. officials said Saturday.

The officials said the Taliban agreed to turn over Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl in exchange for the release of five Afghan detainees from the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The transfers happened after a week of intense negotiations mediated by the government of Qatar, which will take custody of the Afghans.

good to have our boy free and coming home.
I know prisoner exchanges have been part of war since war was invented, but it sucks we actually had to free 5 terrorists (oops. excuse me, “detainees”). notice how the msm can’t even bring themselves to call terrorists captured on the battlefield prisoners of war? more weakness on display.

There’s an image of a deleted tweet making the rounds. The twitterer (is that what one calls a person who twitters?) is reported to be Robert Bergdahl, the father of Bowe Bergdahl. The content is quoted as follows:

I am still working to free all Guantanamo prisoners. God will repay for the death of every Afghan child, ameen.

It has also been reported the Robert Bergdahl is a muslim and Bowe Bergdahl was a deserter who went off seeking the Taliban to join. The timing of this whole thing is suspicious, as is the rush with which it was done. As with everything this regime does, something doesn’t smell right and this seems a bigger win for our enemies than it does for us.

Monday is the day same-sex couples can finally get legally married…Illinois .
Despite State Representative Frank Mautino and Senator Sue Rezin voting no, the Marriage Equality Act passed last year….County Clerk JoAnne Caretto says getting a marriage license under the new law will be no different than opposite-sex marriage licenses including the same $30 cost.
Caretto says with anything new, it takes some adjustments with brand new software and forms for same-sex marriages. Same-sex licenses won’t include a space for maiden name and you will also get to choose if you want to be listed on the license as the groom, bride or spouse.
    (from local online newspaper )

No different than opposite-sex marriage licenses ?
And i see no future problems down the road.

Mr_. Bill, sadly, gladly, and angrily, I believe the tweet is true and Robert Bergdahl the father of released hostage has been shooting his stupid hippie liberal mouth to the news not understanding.

As the parents stand in front of the w.h. with ohbamya statements that Bo joined the military to help the afghan people and then the father’s statements, I’m beginning to think some of the reports
that Bergdahl deserted may be true.

The media have even questioned if Bo Bergdahl can face military charges.

I think we must give Bowe Bergdahl the benefit of the doubt.

I think his father is exploiting him, and would do best for his son to keep his mouth shut.

Six, 6 Soldiers died trying to save Bergdahl!!!!!!!

Why isn’t his father addressing this and did he ever thank or give sympathy to their families?!!!!!!

Initially, the reports were he fell behind his fellow soldiers and was snatched. Then there was he was drunk.

And now the old report they have video of him leaving base at dark with a compass and water bottle are being reported again.

I’m treading lightly only because you can’t trust the media, or military officials, but Bo’s father
Bergdahl is no doubt defending his son and exploiting him speaking in a defense mode.

News reports have been that Bo forgot English. yeah right. He probably prefers to speak in Arabic and may be a die hard muslim now.

The father publicly explained he has not even spoken to his son, though he could because of satellite technology, but that Bo has been away and he has to be brought back.

The first things the military protocol aside medical and mental evaluations is to integrate Bowe
immediately. While, health wise the best thing is to have Bowe be with his parents and have that support, the military has to question and get everything they can out of him, as to how he was kidnapped, everything that happened to him, any information they can get to learn any valuable
information he might be able to get. He may have valuable information.

Golly having learned the enemy’s language he may be intentionally not speaking English and demanding a carpet for prayer times and a Quran. Though he is considered as a victim who has gone through a horrendous ordeal, the military will take him through the integration, which I’m guessing will go on for days.

And even then can we judge Bowe when he may have been brainwashed or helped in the Taliban
village, cooking, and growing food or poppy fields,

or cleaning the Taliban guns for them.

He is considered a traumatized victim who has gone through a horrendous ordeal. But, he has to be done immediately by protocol while his memory is fresh and steps to mentally health wise rehabilitate him and help him heal, etc.

Bergdahl’s father has said his home-schooled son was taught and raised to be “non-violent”!!

So why the heck would he join the military if he was “non-violent”?
His father also made public statement he son was raised and brought up to have “compassion” and that Bowe’s goal was to “aid” the Afghanistan people.

Was there was Bowe’s compassion to aid his fellow American soldiers suckered into joining the military thinking they were on an aid mission? Get real.

So why didn’t he just join the red cross or peace corps?

The father also said that too many of our troops are joining thinking they are helping aid the Afghanistan people only to discover they are having to shoot people.

And it’s very common when anyone is taken hostage by these terrorists that they contact the family and ask for money. So, his parents may have even spoke to their son while he was hostage.

Instead of spying Americans and conservative organizations, surely the government asked for
the Bowe’s parents computer, phone records, etc.

The five hostages were high-level criminal terrorists that there was enough evidence to have charged them and taken them to trial.

I guess ohbamho is tired of his home country Africa and other countries to include our own, protesting with their signs to release the Gitmo prisoners.

Also, ohbamho did this without giving Congress 30 days.

As he promised, or threatened…he has his phone and pen and plans to do whatever he wants.

His dad Mr. Bergdahl also said in one of his press conferences in defending his son, that we had invaded two countries for over ten years now.

It sickened me after Mr. Bergdahl made some of his comments at the w.h. with ohbama to watch him do a hug fest.

And I hope as Mr. Bergdahl hopeully watches the news that he saw where the dirty Taliban blew up innocent civilians and children today in Afghanistan.

Why, when it was during ohbama’s reign as commander in chief that his son was taken hostage.
Those that served with Bowe are angry and say he became disenchanted. I’m sure none of our soldiers planned on the ohbama’s new Rules of Engagement where they could not even shoot
their weapons when getting shot at as they built toilets and served the Taliban tea and biscuits.

And if you talk to soldiers who served in Iraq, they will tell they did make a difference and truly did help the people rebuild and train their military.

As far as those that served in Afghanistan all the aid and help unraveled when ohbama took over.

Why the heck would he hug Ohbambi when he’s going to leave troops to train Afghanistan Army and police longer. 12 years of our troops showing them how to shoot guns they turn on our own
      soldiers is enough.
Oh there is a new news cable OAN One America News Network that so far has no commercials and is reporting the news faster and no commercials.

    • mr_bill

I would like to give Sgt. Bergdahl the benefit of the doubt. The troubling issues abound, however. There are a lot of reports which cast his character in bad light. His father’s actions certainly don’t help. It also doesn’t help that nerobama is apparently breaking laws to accomplish this trade. The whole thing stinks. I’m thankful to have a US soldier home, but does he want to be here? As for nerobama’s claims of “not leaving soldiers behind,” maybe he can tell that to the families of Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty, and Tyrone Woods.

    • canary

mr-bill, I agree with what you say.

What soldier would not be disenchanted with the war.
Anyone would wait til on leave to desert.

Shame is father speaks for his thoughts and feelings when it is no longer necessary, as this soldier has total freedom to speak or not speak for himself at this point.

What soldier would not be disenchanted when Ohbambi changed the ROE’s.
One of the changes was US soldiers handing any captured terrorists over to corrupt Afghanistan
police, who just turned around a let them go.
And then handing over the prisons for the Afghans to run led to hundreds escaping; as many as 300 escaping in one day.

      What’s a few more.

p.s. Hillary came out and agreed with the “hard choice” ohbambi made, and too bad someone doesn’t ask her the question as to the statement you pointed out in Benghazi scandal.

Pre-leaks of his Benghazi chapter in her “hard choices” book is that she will not allow anyone to attack her for her handling. Dream on. And some other statements in the chapter that make
her appear to believe she too considers herself to be God. or is it Goddess.
I wish she’d just retire and stay out of site and let sore eyes get a break.

aaaahhhhhh! They just showed more of Mr. Bergdahl in front of the rose garden saying Bowe I know you’re having trouble remembering speaking in English, and then he speaks praising allah and stuff in Arabic.

Now the other video they have bearded daddy thanking the Taliban for taking care of their son, may have been sent to the Taliban before the release.

E-mails don’t look good either. After all Obama said he was ashamed of being an American too. oh. But, we know he’s a Muslim.

    • canary

I wonder if Bowe taught the Taliban ballet? JK. Poor guy. I think there will be a future trip by dad and son back to Afghanistan as some kind of healing thing to conquer demons. Passing out food, blankets, and giving them medical care won’t be enough as US Soldiers already do this. Maybe pass out some apples. The middle-easterners that come here beech about how much better their apples are over there. They complain and complain.

    • canary

On the bright side since there will be more attempts to kidnap US Soldiers, Bowe and his Daddy can use their language skills to be negotiators with their language skills. In thanking the Taliban Daddy did tell the terrorists he hoped more Gitmo prisoners will be released.

They can make video’s and photos like we have the president taking of their American flag pen, refusing to place his right hand over his heart during the National anthem, and still he was elected.

    • mr_bill

It’s not looking too good for Bergdahl (either one). The more info that comes out, the worse the whole thing looks for him. I’ve seen some reporting that he leaked patrol routes after he wandered off and got some men killed. Apparently there was no way those movements would have been known other than him leaking it to the enemy who then set up several ambushes and killed our soldiers. He’ll be lucky if his name isn’t Benedict Bergdahl before it’s all over.

White House apologizes to lawmakers over secret POW swap

Washington (AFP) – The White House apologized for keeping lawmakers in the dark regarding the exchange of an American soldier for five Taliban fighters, senators said Tuesday, as controversy grew over the issue.
Administration officials plan a classified briefing for the full 100-member chamber Wednesday, with lawmakers from both parties fuming over the trade, which saw captured soldier Bowe Bergdahl released Saturday to US special forces in Afghanistan.
Senate Intelligence Committee chair Dianne Feinstein, a senior member of President Barack Obama’s Democratic Party, said the White House breached US law when it failed to alert Congress to the proposed trade.
“It comes with some surprise and dismay that the transfers went ahead with no consultation, totally not following the law,” she told reporters.
    “We’re very dismayed about it.”
Feinstein reflected mounting bipartisan concern as lawmakers questioned the merits of releasing from Guantanamo five hardened Taliban fighters and officials in exchange for Bergdahl.
Seeking to mop up the political fallout, a senior White House official called Senator Saxby Chambliss, the Intelligence Committee’s top Republican, late Monday “apologizing for not giving us advance warning,” Chambliss said.

But Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says he’s happy they’ve been freed and sent to Qatar.

“Guantanamo has been there far too long, and I think that we should get them out of there as quickly as we can,” he said of the remaining 150 prisoners still classified as “enemy combatants” and held without charges.

.. “So I’m glad to get rid of these five people, send them back to Qatar.” said Harry Reid

I don’t think we’ll ever know the truth. Can’t trust state spokes maria barf marf or Rice’s statements in the same day he was in bad health and they had to move fast. Then few hours later she tells
abc he was in good health. Maybe he had mers or camel disease.

The only punishment I could visibly see was they made him shave his beard.

Interesting our guys shook hands with the Taliban, but not Bergdahl. Maybe afraid he had a bomb button in his hand. Not much of a pat down. And what’s with the goodie bag he was carrying. This was in the area where those CIA agents got blown up.

      CIA says he deserted.

Fellow soldiers said they had to sign paper way back to not discuss it. And very possibly
they will make Bergdahl sign a statement he won’t discuss it because it would be jeopardize
      national security. yeah right..

Guess his promotion to Sgt was based on time served requirements and not from earned qualifications.

I think the biggest key is the Obambies never called him a hero; only praised him as a man wanting to help the Afghanistan people.

Watch: Fox’s Rosen: Sources Claim Bergdahl’s Taliban Collaboration ‘As Serious As You Can Imagine’

      DailyCaller June 4th 2014

Fox News reporter James Rosen claimed intelligence sources have told him not only that Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl willingly collaborated with the Taliban, but that his involvement with the terrorist group may be “as serious as you can imagine.”

Rosen spoke with Bill O’Reilly Wednesday night about his ongoing conversations with intelligence and Pentagon officials regarding both old and new investigations into Bergdahl’s likely desertion and possibly treasonous activities.

“Well, with greatest proximity, because they were tasked with doing so,” Rosen responded cagily. “But my reporting on this is that there are many inside the intelligence community who harbor outstanding concerns not just that Sgt. Bergdahl may have been a deserter, but that he became an active collaborator with the enemy.”

The reporter reiterated information regarding Bergdahl’s emails, the packing up of his personal effects, his failure to take certain equipment with him before he left his post and “anecdotal evidence” from Taliban commanders —

including how Bergdahl taught Islamist fighters how to reprogram a mobile phone into an IED.

“The last thing I will tell you is — I’m still working on this story, I’m talking to a broad range of sources in and out of the government, in and out of the military,” Rosen explained. “And all I will say is, there are many forms that active collaboration can take. I’m investigating claims that it could go as serious as you could imagine.”

In the video he says Taliban told he aided in making IED bombs out of cell phones in 2010.

Secretary of State John Kerry’s spokeswoman Maria Marf argued arrogantly with reporters today that the only one that knows if former private Bowe Bergdahl’s deserted is Bergdahl himself, and they will have to ask him, because only he can answer that question.

      She really is an embarrassment.

Even Hillary Clinton who first praised Ohbambi’s hard choice move, is backtracking that she would have made the deal with the Taliban tougher. But, then she loves the Muslim Brotherhood.

CBS: Report: White House Aides Accusing Bergdahl’s Unit Comrades Of ‘Swift Boating’ Him

    June 4, 2014

WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — White House aides are accusing soldiers who served with Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl are “swift boating” him following his release over the weekend after five years in captivity.

NBC News’ Chuck Todd reported Monday that the White House did not expect this sort of vitriolic backlash exchanging five high-level Taliban members held at Guantanamo Bay for Bergdahl, who left his Army post in 2009 in Afghanistan and was subsequently taken captive.

“They did not expect this backlash on Bergdahl himself,” Todd reported on NBC’s “Today.” I’ve had a few aides describe it to me as we didn’t know that they were going to ‘swift boat’ Bergdahl.

And that’s a reference to that political fight back in 2004 over John Kerry’s military service.”

Bergdahl disappeared on June 30, 2009. A Pentagon investigation concluded in 2010 that the evidence was “incontrovertible” that he walked away from his unit, said a former Pentagon official who has read it.

Matt Vierkant, 27, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, was a team leader of another squad in Bergdahl’s platoon and said soldiers from his unit and other units were wounded or killed on missions to chase down leads related to Bergdahl.

Bergdahl, Kerry and the left’s view of the military.

    By James Taranto – June 4 2014

The Usual Gang of Idiots tweeted a parody poster yesterday for “Barack Obama’s Unfortunate New Movie,” titled “Trading Private Bergdahl.”

There’s been speculation that the White House intended the Bergdahl release as a distraction from the Veterans Administration scandal.

“But officials in the Pentagon and intelligence communities had successfully fought off release of the five men in the past” on the ground that they were too dangerous.

There are some intriguing similarities between young Bergdahl and the young Kerry, as well as between the administration’s current adversity and that which faced Kerry when he ran for president in 2004.

Before he left his base in 2009, Bergdahl sent an email to his parents, which Michael Hastings quoted at length in his 2012 opus for Rolling Stone:

Bowe concluded his e-mail with what, in another context, might read as a suicide note. “I am sorry for everything,” he wrote. “The horror that is america is disgusting.”

Here is 27-year-old John Kerry testifying before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on April 22, 1971, describing the so-called winter soldier investigation, a media event staged a few months earlier by Kerry’s outfit, the Vietnam Veterans Against the War:

The young Kerry possessed considerably more social capital than it appears Bergdahl does.

He was able to parlay his prominence as an antiwar activist into a political career.

During his fourth Senate term, he successfully sought the 2004 Democratic nomination for president.

He ran as a war hero; he was in fact a multiply decorated naval veteran of Vietnam.

But he was caught flat-footed by the emergence of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, a group of fellow vets who remembered his slanders from 1971, for which he had never offered an apology or a renunciation.

This morning, Twitchy.com notes, NBC’s Chuck Todd reported that a White House source had told him: “We didn’t know they [Bergdahl's platoon] was going to Swift Boat him.” It’s déjà vu, if you’ll pardon our French.

The dubious circumstances of Bergdahl’s disappearance from base were no mystery; Hastings had detailed them in his 2012 piece and noted that “there are those in both Congress and the Pentagon who view Bowe as a deserter, and perhaps even a traitor.”

The administration seems to have taken for granted that the public would see Bergdahl as a stereotypical soldier, one who “served the United States with honor and distinction,” as National Security Adviser Susan Rice put it on ABC Sunday.

… Obama sounded the same theme in Warsaw yesterday: “The United States has always had a pretty sacred rule, and that is we don’t leave our men or women in uniform behind. . . . Regardless of the circumstances, whatever those circumstances may turn out to be, we still get an American soldier back if he’s held in captivity. Period. Full stop. We don’t condition that.”

    From the Washington Times:

The Pentagon on several occasions had ground-level intelligence on where Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl was being held captive at various times–down to how many gunmen were guarding him–but special operations commanders repeatedly shelved rescue missions because they didn’t want to risk casualties for a man they believed to be a “deserter,” sources familiar with the mission plans said.

Commanders on the ground debated whether to pull the trigger on a rescue several times in recent years, according to one of the sources, a former high-level intelligence official in Afghanistan, who said the conclusion each time was that the prospect of losing highly trained troops was too high a price to pay for rescuing a soldier who walked away from his unit before being captured by the enemy.

Further, the Pentagon has been pushing back against claims, noted here yesterday, that the Army did take casualties as a result of the early search for Bergdahl. From yesterday’s New York Times:

The furious search for Sergeant Bergdahl, his critics say, led to the deaths of at least two soldiers and possibly six others in the area.

In Warsaw yesterday, after acknowledging the continued danger they pose, the president explained:

“But this is what happens at the end of wars. That was true for George Washington; that was true for Abraham Lincoln; that was true for FDR; that’s been true of every combat situation–that at some point, you make sure that you try to get your folks back.”

The predecessors Obama cited all commanded wars that ended with a clear victory. (He should have mentioned Truman along with FDR, who died a few weeks before the Germans surrendered.) Obama, by contrast, is trying to wind down an unpopular war via a negotiated settlement.

But while Kerry’s end might have been justifiable, it did not justify the means of slandering his fellow Vietnam veterans.

Lindsey Grahamnesty Makes Big Noise About Gitmo Releases

    http://thehill.com/homenews/se.....eave-gitmo

    Wash DC’s The Hill

Graham warns of Republican impeachment push over Gitmo

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) warned Wednesday that Republican lawmakers would call for President Obama’s impeachment if he released more prisoners from Guantanamo Bay without congressional approval.

Republicans worry Obama may try to shut down the prison camp unilaterally after congressional opposition has repeatedly stymied efforts to pass legislation to close it.

And worry they must because this, clearly, is a monster of their own making by not holding the president accountable to anything over the past five years. But then, when you have a spoiled brat who’s out of control, this is the crop you get.

“It’s going to be impossible for them to flow prisoners out of Gitmo now without a huge backlash,” Graham said. “There will be people on our side calling for his impeachment if he did that.”

Note the careful wording: “There will be people…..calling for impeachment”. This is typical Graham cowardice. He didn’t say, “I will be calling for impeachment”. He deflected as if to say that he won’t have any choice but to follow the wishes of his party. Also note, not his constituents but his party’s wishes.

Graham served as a House prosecutor during former President Clinton’s 1998 impeachment trial.

And that worked out so well for republicans, eh?

Congress tried to build in a safeguard against Obama making unilateral decisions on releasing terrorist detainees by including language in the National Defense Authorization Act requiring the administration to alert Congress of such moves at least 30 days in advance.

Which was really unnecessary; But it broadcasts the mindset of “lawmakers” who generally write laws knowing how to already get around them before they are ever enacted. But that’s beside the point. The point with this NDAA is that 1) They knew Obama wouldn’t obey it, given the precedent set by his majesty Phone ‘n’ Pen and 2) A new law that resurfaces an existing law is just glitter and useless. (see immigration enforcement laws)

Obama did not follow that law when he swapped five senior Taliban commanders for Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl.

Nor does he follow any law that he doesn’t like. This is nothing new.

Sen. Carl Levin (Mich.), the Democratic chairman of the Armed Services panel, said Obama had a plausible legal argument for ignoring the law.

“The White House did not comply with the requirement of the 30-day provision. However, the White House said it had power under Article II of the Constitution to do what it did,” Levin said. “I’m not a court that’s going to decide whether or not under Article II the commander in chief has the power to move this quickly even though Congress said you’ve got to give 30 days notice.”

And the “argument” that Levin is indicating is that Bergdahl’s health was at risk. This is specious at best and just plain lying at worst. (See Hitlery Clinton, Susan Rice, Obama, et al, “It was a video!”)

The article goes on to convince the reader that Obama was right to do what he did and espouses numerous weak “arguments” to validate the point. They ignore that the five released people are killers of extraordinary talent for doing so and the white house all but admitted they would probably do so again.

Along with that, the article includes lots of little nuggets like this:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Tuesday applauded Obama’s decision to release five Taliban leaders because it would hasten the closure of the Guantanamo Bay prison camp.

    And this:

Reid noted that Democrats have tried to pass legislation to close the prison camp and transfer the detainees to the United States to face criminal trials but have been “held up from doing so by Republicans.”

Whoa—so transferring killers to Qatar is on par with putting them in US prisons as opposed to Gitmo. Reid is a sick bastard and a traitor if he truly feels this way. He said this:

“So I’m glad to get of these five people, send them back to Qatar, and I think the arrangements made there are, as far as I understand, what’s been explained to me, adequate,” he said the Taliban militants released over the weekend.

    Loosely translated:

“We stuck it to the republicans good and hard and they are hating it. This is my motivation. I hate republicans and I hate this country and all I care about is the party, my money and me.”

This is the money statement. This is the admission by the democrats that it’s all out war against the law.

Watch for more of this in the very near future.

  13. Personally, I want to know ‘did Bergdahl want to come home?’

    Odds 2/17 Yes
    Odds 35/1 No
Odds he is a pawn and a tool? 99/1

    New unemployment claims rise 8,000
Doug Carroll, USA TODAY June 5, 2014

First-time claims for unemployment benefits rose by 8,000 to 312,000 last week, the Labor Department said Thursday.
The previous week’s total was revised up to 304,000 from 300,000.
The four-week average, a more closely watched number because it smooths out week-to-week swings, fell to 310,250. That is down 2,250 from the previous week’s revised average. It’s also the lowest average since June 2, 2007 when it was 307,500, the Labor Department said.
Claims have been trending down over the past year. Declining jobless claims mean fewer people are losing their jobs, a trend that may foreshadow stronger employment numbers in coming months.
Late in the recession in the first half of 2009, claims steadily ran over 600,000 a week.
The current numbers are now close to levels seen in the years before the recession. From 2004 through 2006. the average for weekly unemployment claims was about 329,000, according to Labor Department data and Haver Analytics.
More data on the jobs market comes Friday when the Labor Department releases its employment report for May. Action Economics’ median forecast is for gains of 220,000 in nonfarm payrolls and a rise in the unemployment rate to 6.4% from 6.3%.

    U.S. jobless claims rise 8,000 to 312,000.

Jobless claims rise slightly but remain low.

    MarketWatch.com

The government also said continuing claims, or the number of people already receiving benefits, declined by 20,000 to 2.60 million in the week ended May 24. That’s the fewest since October 2007. Initial claims from two weeks ago, meanwhile, were revised up to 304,000 from 300,000, based on more complete information collected by the states.

(could it have anything to do with no extended benifits, with supposed numbers of 7,200 every week, and those who are dropping out of work force?)
its like anticipating the next episode of some soap opera,
“and what will they blame this on this time?

Rusty, good posting on the subject. There is already talk Obama plans to release another prisoner,
because Obama still has his life-long personality of ODD (true disorder – Opposite Defiance Disorder).

Leaders complain he endangers troops by giving withdraw dates out of Afghanistan prior to re-election and he continues to do so.

Yet he is mum on getting a probable American deserter safely
    out of Afghanistan
endangering American lives with no guns who now are having their photos and video broadcast among the jihadists.

The initial reports when Bergdahlaya took off I had forgotten, are resurfacing of radio transition
reports of Afghans telling he was asking directions to where the Afghan stronghold was at.
Maybe Bergdahlaya will start the first mosque for Haily Idaho.

Disguised Boko Haram Slaughters 100s in Villages as Nigerian Military Nothing

    AP – June 5, 2014

    MAIDUGURI, Nigeria —

Boko Haram militants dressed as soldiers slaughtered at least 200 civilians in three villages in northeastern Nigeria and the military failed to intervene even though it was warned that an attack was imminent, witnesses said on Thursday.

A community leader who witnessed the killings on Monday said residents of the Gwoza local government district in Borno state had pleaded for the military to send soldiers to protect the area after they heard that militants were about to attack, but help didn’t arrive.

“We all thought they were the soldiers that we earlier reported to that the insurgents might attack us,” said a community leader who escaped the massacre and fled to Maiduguri, Borno state capital.

The militants arrived in Toyota Hilux pickup trucks — commonly used by the military — and told the civilians they were soldiers “and we are here to protect you all,” the same tactic used by the group when they kidnapped more than 300 girls from a school in the town of Chibok on April 15.

After people gathered in the center on the orders of the militants, “they begin to shout ‘Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar’ on top of their voices, then they begin to fire at the people continuously for a very long time until all that gathered were all dead,” said the witness who didn’t want to be named for fear for his safety.

The death toll from Monday’s attacks is among the highest. Thousands of people have been killed

    in the 5-year-old insurgency,

more than 2,000 so far just this year, and an estimated 750,000 Nigerians have been driven from their homes.

But while Boko Haram…, boldly staking their claim by hoisting their black flags with white Arabic lettering,…

Bowe Bergdahl had Deserted Before and Officers KNEW he was a Risk

Daily Mail.co.uk.: Bowe Bergdahl had deserted before and officers KNEW he was a risk:

Classified report reveals Army’s fears over Bergdahl as he faces desertion charge

    By Michael Zennie

    3 June 2014

A U.S. Army investigation found that Bowe Bergdahl had walked away from his post at least once before his capture – and that other soldiers in his unit knew he was a flight risk.
The 2010 report, called an AR15-6, is still classified, but it appears to confirm allegations that the former prisoner of war violated military regulations – and that the Pentagon knew it all along.
The revelation, attributed to anonymous sources by the Military Times, comes as the nation’s top general, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey, acknowledged the growing cloud of suspicion hanging over Bergdahl.
The Military Times report says that investigators who looked into the June 2009 capture of Bergdahl found that several soldiers from his unit said he had talked openly about wanting to leave the forward operating base where he was stationed.

They found he may have left the base at least once before, as well.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Depsey suggested that the military would investigate Bergdahl’s record.

As for the circumstances of his capture, when he is able to provide them, we’ll learn the facts. Like any American, he is innocent until proven guilty. Our Army’s leaders will not look away from misconduct if it occurred. In the meantime, we will continue to care for him and his family,’ he wrote.

When he returns home, Bergdahl will be entitled to back pay
for the five years he was in captivity.

Bergdahl was promoted in absentia two years after he went missing, being promoted from private first class to sergeant in September 2011.

It was reported Monday that he was scheduled for a second promotion- to staff sergeant- in June of this year if he was not found in time.
