Obama During Campaign: “Al Qaeda Has Been Decimated”
    August 8, 2013,
With the closing of U.S. embassies in Muslim countries around the world, the White House is putting out word that while it has claimed al Qaeda’s “core” in Pakistan is on the ropes, it has acknowledged that al Qaeda’s affiliates elsewhere are not.
But President Obama was not so keen on making such subtle distinctions during the campaign. The gist of his reelection message was that al Qaeda itself was headed on a fast track for the dustbin of history. Less than a year ago, Obama himself was suggesting all of al Qaeda was on the road to extinction.
“The war in Afghanistan is winding down. Al Qaeda has been decimated,” Obama said during a campaign rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin November 1, 2012. “Osama bin Laden is dead. So we’ve made real progress these past four years.”
“Al Qaeda is on the path to defeat,” Obama declared during remarks in Columbus, Ohio on the final day of the campaign.

Obama says al-Qaida now more active in Iraq

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama pledged Friday to help combat an increasingly active al-Qaida in Iraq but stopped short of announcing new commitments of assistance sought by Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.
Al-Maliki came to the Oval Office requesting additional aid, including weapons and help with intelligence, to fight insurgent violence that has spiked in Iraq since American troops left in 2011.
“Unfortunately al-Qaida has still been active and has grown more active recently,” Obama said at the end of a nearly two-hour meeting. “So we had a lot of discussion about how we can work together to push back against that terrorist organization that operates not only in Iraq, but also poses a threat to the entire region and to the United States.”
The United States already provides military aid to Iraq, the legacy of an unpopular war that cost Americans nearly 4,500 troops and more than $700 billion. The White House said among equipment the U.S. has sent since pulling troops out are military planes, helicopters, patrol boats and a surface-to-air missile battery.
Al-Maliki’s visit with Obama was their first meeting since December 2011, when the Iraqi leader came to Washington six days before the last American troops left Iraq. At the time, Obama pledged the U.S. would remain committed to the government they left behind, and helped create.
The troop withdrawal came after al-Maliki’s government refused to let U.S. forces remain in Iraq with the legal immunity that the Obama administration insisted was necessary to protect troops. Obama had campaigned for the presidency on ending the nearly nine-year war in Iraq and took the opportunity offered by the legal dispute to pull all combat troops out.
Sunni Muslim insurgents who had been mostly silenced under the U.S. presence lashed out once the American forces had left, angered by a widespread belief that Sunnis have been sidelined by Iraq’s Shiite-led government. Indiscriminate violence has continued to rise, with the United Nations saying Friday that 979 Iraqis were killed last month alone — 852 civilians and 127 were security forces — and nearly 2,000 more injured.

Obama knowingly hired Obamacare contractors with history of security violations on Americas since 2011

Fierce IT Security: Obamacare contractors had serious data security lapses

Quality Software Services was cited by HHS for exposing data on more than 6 million Medicare recipients

    October 24, 2013 | By Fred Donovan

Two contractors that worked on developing healthcare exchanges for the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, have suffered serious data security lapses, according to a report by Computerworld.

IT-Harvest security analyst Richard Stiennon cautioned that efforts to try to “fix” the Healthcare.gov website could lead to shortcuts on security.

“Quality Software Services, Inc., did not sufficiently implement CMS-required information system security controls over USB ports and devices, thus risking exposure of personally identifiable information for over 6 million Medicare beneficiaries,” the report concluded.

In 2012, Serco admitted that it suffered a data breach that exposed Social Security numbers and financial information of more than 123,000 members of the $313 billion Thrift Savings Plan federal retirement plan, Computerworld noted.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation informed Serco about the breach in April 2012, even though it occurred in July 2011.

AP editors: Obama relies on staged propaganda photos
IN THE BIGGER PICTURE / BY THEGREEKZEN / ON NOVEMBER 2, 2013 AT 12:19 AM /

President Obama official photos. Pete Souza

Editors of The Associated Press condemned the White House’s refusal to give photojournalists real access to President Obama, who prefers to circulate press release-style pictures taken by his own paid photographers.

These official photographs are little more than propaganda, according to AP director of photography Santiago Lyon. Office on two occasions–both in his first term–and has never been allowed to photograph the president with his staff in the office. The AP generally receives access when foreign leaders are visiting, but at other times the White House relies on its own photographers to take pictures and distribute them to the press.

Previous administrations were less strict about photos, undermining Obama’s frequent claim that he strives to run “the most transparent administration” in history.

“This works because newspapers use these handout photos,” she said at the conference, according to attendee Jack Lail, digital editor of the Knoxville News Sentinel.

Carroll advised newspaper editors who were present to stop using the White House’s preferred photos in their own stories, according to Lail and other attendees.

    — Chris Cobler (@chriscobler) October 30, 2013

This is not the first time the AP has insinuated that Obama’s photo policy is bad for modern journalism. Editors at the country’s largest wire service began complaining about Obama’s autocratic media strategy during his first campaign for the presidency in 2008.

In April of this year, the AP renewed its criticisms in an article titled “Controlling the narrative while limiting media access.”

… wrote the AP. “It’s raising new questions about what’s lost when the White House tries to make an end run around the media, functioning, in effect, as its own news agency.”

“What gets lost are those revealing moments when the president’s held accountable by the representatives of the public who are there in the form of the media,” said McCurry.

The history of White House photography suggests barring photographers in this way may even limit Obama’s propaganda power. Photojournalists snapped many of the best-remembered Oval Office photos, including the picture of a backlit President John F. Kennedy with his head bowed, which was shot by New York Times photographer George Tames. That photo, dubbed “The Loneliest Job In the World,” went on to become an icon of the Cuban Missile Crisis, although it was snapped several months before the crisis and simply showed the president reading a newspaper while standing, to relieve his back pain. During the actual missile crisis, JFK reportedly left the Oval Office to join fabled stripper Blaze Starr in the Lincoln Bedroom for what Starr called a “very short” encounter.

Lyon, Carroll, the White House and Pete Souza, President Obama’s official photographer, did not respond to requests for comment.

This story has been corrected to reflect the fact that the AP typically receives access to the president when he is visiting with foreign leaders, but only twice when he is alone in his office and never with White House staff.

AP is first to lay foundation to paint LAX shooter as a right-wing nutjob

    http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/s.....2-19-27-28

The specific quotes in a very long article:

It’s not clear why Ciancia targeted the agency, but the note found in his duffel bag suggested the unemployed motorcycle mechanic was willing to kill almost any officer he could confront.

“Black, white, yellow, brown, I don’t discriminate,” the note read, according to a paraphrase by a law enforcement official briefed on the investigation. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly.

This is a tactic that is particularly disturbing of late and its use by the national socialist propaganda wing is noteworthy. By using “anonymous” sources, they can say whatever they want and then claim journalistic privilege when the truth is demanded by the right. I doubt anyone ever told this reporter anything of the kind.

They have pulled this slimy trick especially a lot this year to “quote” “several republicans” and then state flatly that they don’t wish to be identified. Isn’t this the old grade-school tactic of getting back at your enemy by starting a vicious rumor that “so-and-so said”, etc.?

Then, with the reader sufficiently warmed up the AP “writer” goes on to make the allegation:

The suspect’s screed also mentioned “fiat currency” and “NWO,” possible references to the New World Order, a conspiracy theory that foresees a totalitarian one-world government.

Admittedly, these subjects appear in the conservative blogs but are seldom supported by the regular bloggers themselves. It smacks of “vast right wing conspiracy” and those on the fringe of the right wing who are generally not recognized as conservative or right wing by tea party supporters nor conservatives. But the national socialists like to use such people as props for their agenda. Usually by clinging to the myth that the KKK is “right-wing”.

But, the AP needs to get the ball rolling somehow because they have failed 150 out of 150 times when they get froggy and try to paint the conservatives as the dangerous ones. In any case, even if this clown Ciancia is part of the right-wing (probability, according to my Mr Spock computer: <.0000000000000000000017%) the score is still tilted heavily on the side of the left as the ones who are unbalanced and very, very dangerous.

But that won't stop the national socialist Goebbelistas from painting the picture they most desperately desire.

Plus, the items of interest above lack context, and, in my opinion, are probably created out of whole cloth. In other words, they are a lie.

Of particular note, however is this excerpt which outlines that Ciancia was probably unstable and in need of psychological help.

Former classmates barely remember him and even a recent roommate could say little about the young man who moved from New Jersey to Los Angeles less than two years ago. A former classmate at Salesianum School in Wilmington, Del., said Ciancia was incredibly quiet.

“He kept to himself and ate lunch alone a lot,” David Hamilton told the Los Angeles Times. “I really don’t remember any one person who was close to him …. In four years, I never heard a word out of his mouth.”

On Friday, Ciancia’s father called police in New Jersey, worried about his son in L.A. The young man had sent texts to his family that suggested he might be in trouble, at one point even saying goodbye.

As they say, “It’s always the quiet ones, isn’t it?”

Usually, people like that are not automatically assumed to be mentally “at-risk”, borrowing a favorite euphemism from the left, but I’m willing to bet he’s been evaluated and found to be in need of help.

So in my opinion, the AP has already done a disservice by typing up an enormous article but it still had the agenda in mind with this tidbit:

When searched by police, Ciancia had five 30-round magazines, and his bag contained “hundreds of rounds in 20-round boxes,” the law-enforcement official said.

They never sleep, they want a socialist state with a “dynamic, charismatic” despot at the top to tell everyone what to do. They want cradle-to-grave protection from life itself and want everyone else to be responsible for their problems. They want all “mean” people done away with. They want cars that don’t pollute, and free medical services for life while keeping the right to choose who lives and who dies at the hands of a bureaucrat or an abortionist, all in a safe, sterile gun-free zone.

Warped and twisted thinking, the bane of humanity for all time. Logic, proper assessment, actual fairness, most closely achieved in 1776 and for a couple of centuries thereafter.

But people have shown that they cannot be custodians of freedom. They don’t want the responsibility.

I don’t see how he entered a terminal carrying an M-15 with or without magazines and hundreds of rounds. It would mean he passed the highest security point crowded with people, and armed security personnel. I don’t think they allow such sizable pieces to be hand carried on an aircraft.

A one world order is not a conspiracy as no one is keeping it serious. Not sure where the Fiat comes in.

This dude grew up in liberal states and went to LA party land and probably got some bad “Molly”s.
Our youth are telling me that people they know are developing long term psychological problems from only taking it one time. I am glad they are getting the word out since wealthy liberal rappers and celebrities are promoting Mollys in their music.

Since someone bought him a plane ticket as he was broke with no job, could it be he got some bad stuff during his last party in LA? I don’t see how shooting the TSA ties in. Perhaps the crazy dude was so wasted he thought he’d actually be able to sneak on a plane and take more with him. He was a dumb liberal out of his mind on Molly.

    • canary

Rusty, AP just scrubbed the article after I posted. Now he strode instead of barged on to the terminal and the M-15 is now a Smith & Wesson .223 calibrer assault rifle he pulled out of his duffel bag and it is now giving a story of a TSA officer who was checking IDs and boarding passes at the base of an escalator leading to the main screening area.
I can not imagine a TSA officer checking IDs and boarding passes at the base of an elevator. Never heard of such a thing, is it a new procedure?

“Attorney Andre Birotte Jr. spelled out a chilling chain of events inside LAX that began when Ciancia strode into Terminal 3, pulled a Smith & Wesson .223-caliber assault rifle out of his duffel bag and fired repeatedly at point-blank range at a TSA officer who was checking IDs and boarding passes at the base of an escalator leading to the main screening area.”

Rusty, your linked story is an entirely different target now. No mention of world one order.

Now it’s all about gun control.

The nomad just walked in and started firing and left in his note how easy it would be fore anyone to do what he did.

While normally I would not post a commentary on here, this one was very good and I thought I’d share some of the better points/

    Klavan On The Culture
It is now apparent to any honest observer that Obama is a rank incompetent too arrogant and foolish to alter his political philosophy even after reality has proven it false. As his record at the time of his original candidacy should have warned us, he has no business in the Oval Office. He simply isn’t up for the job….We don’t need Mulder and Scully to tell us: the truth is out there. Obama has lost the gains of the Iraq war and sacrificed the lives of our soldiers in Afghanistan to no purpose. He has alienated our allies in Germany, France and, God help us, Saudi Arabia, while playing the fool for our enemies in Iran and Russia. He has ruthlessly curtailed free speech by abusing the powers of the IRS against his political opponents, spying on and persecuting journalists, and encouraging the imprisonment of a video maker to suit his political ends. He has brutally hobbled our economy with anti-business regulations written by the very legislators who brought on the recession in the first place. And now, through lies and corrupt political machinations, he has saddled us with a chaotic and overbearing health care law that, even when operational, will never be worth its weight in debt and curtailed liberties.

The Washington Times: Security adviser to Obama says U.S. is an ‘Islamic country’

    By Douglas Ernst – Nov 1 2013

Muslim Brotherhood caught using puppies as fire bombs

A member of the Department of Homeland Security Advisory Council is under fire for tweeting that America is “an Islamic country.”

After a Twitter user asked Mohamed Elibiary on Thursday to “show me just ONE example of an Islamic country where non Muslims are treated with equality,” he responded with the controversial tweet, which was first reported by the Washington Free Beacon: “America and yes I do consider the United States of America an Islamic country with an Islamically[sic] compliant constitution. Move On!”

He is also a strong supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood.

British woman patient at a San Francisco Government Owned Hospital Found Dead in Stairway 17 Days After she went Missing.

CBS SF: Sheriff Apologizes Over Incomplete Search For SF General Patient Found Dead

    November 6, 2013

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi apologized for his department’s slow and incomplete search for a missing San Francisco woman whose body was found in a San Francisco General Hospital stairwell.

Mirkarimi held a news conference at City Hall Wednesday afternoon to disclose the sheriff’s department’s preliminary findings in the case of Lynne Spalding, a 57-year-old British woman found dead in the hospital stairwell on Oct. 8 after being reported missing Sept. 21.

Additionally, attempts to retrieve surveillance video from the time of her disappearance were unsuccessful because of faulty hardware, Mirkarimi said.

Spalding had been admitted to the hospital on Sept. 19 to be treated for an infection.

However, the physician also told the deputy that Spalding was “very confused and not safe to be out on her own,” according to the sheriff.

After more than a week had passed and Spalding still remained missing, hospital officials asked sheriff’s deputies to search the entire 24-acre campus, Mirkarimi said.

A day later, it was determined that not all stairwells had yet been searched and staff was directed to search them, but only half of the stairwells were actually searched, the sheriff said.

Then, on Oct. 4, a hospital official called the sheriff’s Institutional Patrol Unit to report that someone told the official that somebody was lying on the landing in the third or fourth floor of Stairwell 8.

A staff member from the sheriff’s communications center responded,

“We’ll take care of it,” but there is no indication that anyone was dispatched to check the stairwell, according to the sheriff.

Spalding was found dead in the stairwell four days later.

Along with the discrepancy over Spalding’s race, Harris said he finds it odd that no one at the hospital or sheriff’s department mentioned her thick English accent in the initial reports about her disappearance.

In part of their self-glorifying website

“SFGH is owned and operated by the City and County of San Francisco, Department of Public Health.”

“We are part of a city wide integrated health care system, providing primary, specialty and hospital care for vulnerable populations, including Healthy San Francisco and SF PATH.”

“The UCSF research programs at SFGH are awarded around $160 million annually, and have resulted in real time benefits to our patients by offering the best care that medical science has to offer.”

    Building for the future

“Thanks to San Francisco voters , SFGH is building a new nine-story acute care hospital that is seismically safe, technologically advanced and green. Construction on the Rebuild began in 2009 and we look forward to the ribbon cutting ceremony in 2015.

The new hospital will be a warm, healing environment with private patient rooms, abundant natural light and a sunny roof-top garden.

“As we prepare for health reform, we are partnering with our patients to find innovative ways to deliver patient-centered, safe and efficient care.”

    NBC “jumps the Shark.”

Matt Lauer, Al Roker get prostate exams on ‘Today’
    November 07, 2013 / Deadline 2013 NBCUniversal Media
“We should mention, we’re going to do this in a tasteful way – this is not The Learning Channel,” Savannah Guthrie said at the top of hour on Today show this morning, when Matt Lauer and Al Roker got prostate exams live, on the air, on the ratings hungry Today show.

Turns out, a tasteful, live, on-air prostate exam involves watching Matt Lauer open a door, enter another room, close the door, after which the Ladies of Today vamp for 34 seconds until Matt emerges from behind the door and his doctor pronounces his prostate small, smooth and nodule-free.

i’m not going to even “touch” this one.
