The AP continues to refer to the growth of U.S. Military Troops and Marines dying in the Philippines as Philippine troops and Philippine army in neither their headlines or within their article. Shame on them.

Pardon me. I meant to say U.S. Military troops and Marines being “killed” by al-Qaida in the Philippines.

Iran ahmadinejad says soon no Jews or Americans in the Middle-East.

AFP: ‘Tumour[sic]’ of Israel will soon be destroyed: Ahmadinejad

By Mohammad Davari Aug 17 2012

TEHRAN — Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told an annual anti-Israel protest in Tehran on Friday that the Jewish state was a “cancerous tumour[sic]” that will soon be excised, drawing Western rebukes.

Washington said Ahmadinejad’s statements were “reprehensible”, while Paris viewed them as “outrageous.”

Ahmadinejad’s diatribe against Israel in his Quds (Jerusalem) Day address was the latest in a long line to have drawn criticism from Western governments.

“The Zionist regime and the Zionists are a cancerous tumour,” he said.

“The nations of the region will soon finish off the usurper Zionists in the Palestinian land…. A new Middle East will definitely be formed. With the grace of God and help of the nations, in the new Middle East there will be no trace of the Americans and Zionists,” he said.

“They (the Israelis) know very well they don’t have the ability” to successfully attack Iran, foreign ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast was quoted as saying by the ISNA news agency.

“If they make a mistake, our nation’s reaction will lead to the end of the Zionist regime,” he said.

Ahmadinejad, in his speech, claimed that “Zionists” triggered World Wars I and II, and had “taken control over world affairs since the moment they became dominant over the US government.”

The ISNA Islamic Society of North America home bas in Indiana USA is saying “our nation” will destroy Israel?

To think they just had dinner with Obama at the WH…”our nation” ?

JTA: Muslim hotel owner discriminated against Jewish group, jury finds

      August 16, 2012

(JTA) — A Muslim hotel owner in Southern California discriminated against a group of Jewish Los Angeles young adults, a jury found.

A jury in Santa Monica Superior Court on Wednesday found that Tehmina Adaya, the owner of the Hotel Shangri-La in that city, discriminated against the nonprofit Friends of the Israel Defense Forces.

She allegedly yelled, “Get these [expletive] Jews out of my pool,” according to testimony.

It was alleged during the trial that Adaya, a Pakistani-born Muslim, ordered the group to stop its event because she believed that her family would cut off her financing for allowing Jews to use the facility.

AP: Infiltration or bad blood behind Afghan attacks?

    Aug 17, 2012

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — The U.S. military trainers handed the new recruit, Mohammad Ismail, his AK-47 to defend his remote Afghan village. He turned around and immediately used it, spraying the Americans with bullets and killing two — the latest of nine U.S. service personnel gunned down in two weeks by their supposed Afghan allies.

…Friday. Hours later a few provinces away in Kandahar, an Afghan soldier wounded two more coalition troopers.

One turncoat attack per month raised eyebrows last year. One per week caused concern earlier this year. But when Afghan forces turn their guns on international trainers twice in a day — as they now have two weeks in a row — it’s hard to argue there’s not something going on.

“There’s no positive spin on this,” said Andrew Exum, an analyst with the Washington-based Center for a New American Security who has advised the top U.S. generals in Kabul. He said the number of Afghan insider attacks has risen beyond what can be explained as isolated incidents.

That’s bad news for the U.S. exit strategy for Afghanistan, which has seen Washington spend more than $20 billion on training and equipping a nearly 340,000-member Afghan security force on the assumption that it would eventually be strong enough to fight the Taliban on its own.

But that analysis was done before the latest furious spate of seven attacks in 11 days, a frequency that suggests some type of coordination.

Some historians are hard-pressed to find precedent for this in previous wars.

“I have never heard of anything in Vietnam comparable to what we have recently experienced in Afghanistan,” said James McAllister, a political science professor at Williams College in Massachusetts who has written extensively about the Vietnam War. A British military expert on colonial wars, Martin Windrow, said the level of these types of attacks were “almost unheard of” in any conflict he’d studied.

Afghan military analyst Amrullah Amman has no doubt that Taliban infiltration of Afghan security forces is rising. He said that despite new methods of screening, it’s simple to forge documents and invent references in Afghanistan.

“The gate is wide open. The enemy is infiltrating because they see it’s very easy,” Amman said.

Afghan soldiers interviewed by the AP earlier this year offered their own explanations: The Afghans feel disrespected, the soldiers said. They complained of getting inferior equipment and condescending treatment by Americans.

Associated Press writers Amir Shah in Kabul and Slobodan Lekic in Brussels contributed to this report.

Are the AP reporters reporting these disgruntled Afghans they interview to U.S. Military, as they report on Obama making U.S. history in getting our troops killed.?

    God Bless our troops.

I wonder what kind of fumes the fires emit? :-)

    From ABC News:

Fisker Issues Second Recall of Electric Car

    By Randy Kreider

After the second of two mysterious fires in a Karma sedan, the government-backed electric car-maker Fisker has initiated a voluntary recall of its luxury vehicles.

In a statement, Fisker spokesman Roger Ormisher said that Fisker engineers and an independent fire expert had “identified the root cause” of a fire that swept through a Karma parked outside a Woodside, California grocery store on August 10.

“The investigation located the ignition source to the left front of the Karma, forward of the wheel, where the low-temperature cooling fan is located,” said the statement. “The final conclusion was that this sealed component had an internal fault that caused it to fail, overheat and start a slow burning fire.”

Fisker announced a voluntary recall “with respect to this cooling fan unit” and said it had already contacted its retailers.

As first reported by Jalopnik.com, the owner found the vehicle burning in the parking lot when he returned from shopping. At the time, the Woodside Fire Department said the immediate cause of the blaze appeared to be “heat from powered equipment,” and firefighters cut the car’s battery cable after putting out the fire. Woodside Fire Chief Dan Ghiorso told ABC News that the origin of the fire appeared to be inside the engine compartment, though Fisker said in a statement that it was determined to be outside the compartment in an area “forward of the driver’s side front tire.” …

In case you’re wondering, yep, this is our tax dollars, in the form of Obama’s “green energy” fiasco dollars, at work:

In 2010, the Department of Energy awarded Fisker a $529 million green-energy loan, in part to help purchase a shuttered General Motors plant in Delaware, where it predicted it would one day employ 2,000 auto workers to assemble a clean-burning gas-electric family car, known as the Atlantic.

Fisker collected nearly $200 million until February this year, when the government froze the loan because the company was failing to meet the government’s milestones. Most of those federal funds went into bringing the Karma, which Fisker assembles in Finland, to the U.S. market.

So another $200m+ down the tubes, largely in the name of producing “green jobs,” like producing a car assembled in Finland.

    • canary says:

Obama gave 1/4 Trillion dollars to private business in vp Joe Biden’s home state tiny little Delaware.

So they are going to make the cooling fan run when the car is off. At least the firemen cut the battery cable before it exploded.

You know, if you’re gonna make an omelet, you have to break a few eggs.

What I want to know is why Obama doesn’t have egg on his face? For some strange reason, squandering obscene sums of other peoples’ money on ‘green’ boondoggles doesn’t bring any derision down on his head. Instead, people treat him with the same deference they show Joe ‘Bite Me’ Biden when he makes his stupid verbal gaffes. “That’s just Obama being Obama.”

      Isn’t anybody besides me pissed?

BBC: Somalia Olympic runner ‘drowns trying to reach Europe’

    20 August 2012

A Somali Olympic athlete has reportedly drowned while attempting to reach Europe on a migrant boat.

Runner Samia Yusuf Omar was trying to cross from Libya to Italy in April when the boat she was travelling[sic] in sank, according to Italian media.

The head of Somalia’s National Olympic Committee confirmed to the BBC that she had died but did not say how.

Samia competed in the 200m event at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 despite having almost no formal training.

According to a profile of Samia on al-Jazeera, she faced death threats and intimidation when she returned to Somalia after the 2008 Olympics, with the Islamist militia al-Shabab controlling parts of the capital.

What happened between then and her apparent death in the Mediterranean Sea is unclear.

Reports in Italian media suggest she may have been hoping to find a coach in Europe who could help her reach the London Olympics.

And to think Obama campaigned for Sharia Law & severe punishment to women all on taxpayers dime as a Chicago Senator and now he has our U.S. ground troops fighting al-Qaida all around Africa.

Reuters: Obama deeply concerned over Afghan “insider attacks”

    Aug 21 2012 WASHINGTON (Reuters) –

His comments came during a visit by the top U.S. military officer, General Martin Dempsey, to Afghanistan, where the killings of American forces by Afghans have topped the agenda. Obama, who spoke to Dempsey earlier in the day, said he would reach out to Afghan President Hamid Karzai about the killings.

The growing insider threat has eroded trust between NATO and its Afghan allies, causing a headache for Western powers who are planning to pull out most of their troops by the end of 2014.

“I’ll be reaching out to President Karzai as well because we’ve got to make sure that we’re on top of this,” Obama said.

Still, last week, the Pentagon said only about 11 percent of so-called “insider attacks” by Afghans against NATO troops this year were due to Taliban infiltration, with the vast majority due to other motives, including personal grudges.

Why there would be a sudden increase in personal grudges and other vendettas remains unclear.

AP: Court: Texas can cut off Planned Parenthood funds

    Will Weissert 8/22/2012

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — A federal appeals court ruled late Tuesday that Texas can cut off funding for Planned Parenthood clinics that provide health services to low-income women before a trial over a new law that bans state money from going to organizations tied to abortion providers.

The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans lifted a federal judge’s temporary injunction that called for the funding to continue pending an October trial on Planned Parenthood’s challenge to the law.

The ruling is the latest in the ongoing fight over Texas’ efforts to halt funding to clinics affiliated with abortion providers. The federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has said that the new state rule violates federal law. Federal funds paid for 90 percent, or about $35 million, of the $40 million Women’s Health Program until the new rule went into effect. Federal officials are now phasing out support for the program.

Gov. Rick Perry has promised that Texas will make up for the loss of federal funds to keep the program going without Planned Parenthood’s involvement. State officials have said ending the program would result in more unplanned pregnancies that would cost the state much more than self-financing the program.

“Texas will continue providing important health services for women through this program in spite of the Obama Administration’s disregard for our state law and unilateral decision to defund this program,” the governor said.

The case began when Planned Parenthood sued, saying the new Texas law violated its rights to free speech.
A federal judge in Austin ruled in May that the funding should continue pending the trial on Planned Parenthood’s lawsuit, saying there’s sufficient evidence the state’s law is unconstitutional.

But the three-judge appellate panel disagreed, unanimously finding that Planned Parenthood was unlikely to prevail in future arguments that its free-speech rights were violated.

Abbott cheered the decision Tuesday, noting that it “rightfully recognized that the taxpayer-funded Women’s Health Program is not required to subsidize organizations that advocate for elective abortion.”

“The case began when Planned Parenthood sued, saying the new Texas law violated its rights to free speech”

Not to worry. Those that can not speak will continue to rake up a fortune for Planned Parenthood in their cut of profits from of selling human embryos and fetuses to medical science and health care for Americans

Obama offering Intel Security sharing tools and information to Egypt who announces they will “cut off the hands” and allow muslim youth to rape girls in the streets; & now 700 U.S. Military Soldiers in Sinai

Egypt Independent news: Sisi in Sinai, Happy Birthday Mr. President Ola El-Saket

    21/08/2012 –

During Sisi’s surprise visit to Sinai Monday, he offered the tribal sheikhs LE1 billion from the armed forces budget to develop the peninsula.

Reporting on the same story, other papers turned the meeting into an occasion to stress thethreatening[sic] language adopted by almost all Egyptian media since the attack. The privately-owned Youm7 and Al-Watan, as well as the state- run papers Rose al-Youssef and Al-Gomhurriya, all highlighted Sisi’s statement:

“We will cut the hands that raise weapons against the state from now on.”

Freedom and Justice newspaper, published by the Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party, said that Sinai underwent unprecedented security preparations for Sisi’s visit.

The paper also highlighted news about a possible visit by President Mohamed Morsy to Malaysia during his next foreign tour.

Tuesday’s papers are left with no room for news about Eid al-Fitr but anti-sexual harassment street campaigns. Youm7 published photos of boys harassing a girl on the street, and reported that the police stations are refusing to catch harassers or document the incidents. Al-Watan features a report on a stand against sexual harassment made by independent young men in Downtown Cairo.

Freedom and Justice totally ignores the issue, regardless of the continuous complaints of the increased sexual harassment at large gatherings. Instead, the paper highlights news about the Interior Ministry’s new Campaign against Drugs and Weapons.

Across the page, Youm7 features a report about Morsy’s birthday, listing the president’s horoscope and the well wishes from pages of Muslim Brotherhood supports on Facebook.

Al-Watan takes Morsy’s birthday as an opportunity to cover the president’s life under the headline; “From birth to the presidency.”

Rest of article at Egypt Independent news –

Interesting read aside Egypt’s heroic muslim youth raping girls in the streets, is the corruption and takes from other news sources.
Interesting this “independent” Egyptian news refers to taking a stand against rape and sexual harassment made by “independent young men” in downtown Cairo.

Obviously “independent” is used in different grammer forms than in American culture of Independence.

CNN: Panetta tries to help secure Sinai with Intel aid

    Aug 20 2012 – by Barbara Starr

Looking to increase security in the Sinai Peninsula, U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta is offering Egypt a package of classified intelligence-sharing capabilities designed to help it identify military threats in the area and reassure Israel that Egypt can deal with rising militancy along Israel’s border, according to a senior Pentagon official.

It is also possible a commercial version of the technology will be offered to the international peacekeeping force in Sinai that includes 700 U.S. troops.

The international force is not authorized to fight extremists, but is facing the potential of increased violence in the region. The official emphasized that nothing has been decided yet, and noted any change in the international peacekeeping force must be agreed to by all nations.

At the same time, the United States is also offering Egypt increased intelligence sharing, including satellite imagery and drone flights and intercepts of cell phone and other communications among militants suspected of planning attacks, according to an Obama administration official.

“…any change in the international peacekeeping force must be agreed to by all nations…”

    sigh…that’s a relief.

Article: Deferred action program could temporarily legalize 1.8 million young immigrants

    Tue, Aug 7, 2012

A group of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agents filed a lawsuit against their own agency Thursday, arguing that the Obama administration is not letting them fully identify and deport illegal immigrants.

Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano says her department does not have the manpower or money to deport the 11 million illegal immigrants in the USA, so she issued a memorandum last year ordering immigration officials to focus their efforts on dangerous illegal immigrants. In June, Obama announced a program that will allow up to 1.7 million illegal immigrants brought to the USA as children to have deportations deferred for at least two years.

“We are federal law enforcement officers who are being ordered to break the law,” said Chris Crane, an ICE agent and president of the National Immigration and Customs Enforcement Council, a union for ICE employees.

The suit is funded by NumbersUSA, a group that proposes lower levels of legal and illegal immigration,…

“A spokesman for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said Obama may have overstepped his authority by ordering the deportation deferments, and Romney would forge a long-term solution with Congress instead of relying on Obama’s “stop-gap measure.””

If the ten who sued live that long, since we don’t know the details of Fast & Furious because the one who will defend their agency is the same guy who won’t give up the information in spite of being sued.
