China freezes due to global warming

Brrr! China’s coldest winter in decades at new low

BEIJING (AP) — China is experiencing unusual chills this winter with its national average temperature hitting the lowest in 28 years, and snow and ice have closed highways, canceled flights, stranded tourists and knocked out power in several provinces.

China Meteorological Administration on Friday said the national average was -3.8 degrees Celsius (25 degrees Fahrenheit) since late November, the coldest in nearly three decades.

The average temperature in northeast China dipped to -15.3 degrees C (4.5 degrees F), the coldest in 43 years, and dropped to a 42-year low of -7.4 degrees C (18.7 degrees F) in northern China.

In some areas – northeastern China, eastern Inner Mongolia, and north part of far-western Xinjiang province – the low has hit -40 degrees C (-40 degrees F), the administration said.

The state-run, English-language China Daily reported Friday that about 1,000 ships were stuck in ice in Laizhou Bay in eastern China’s Bohai Sea.

The meteorological administration said Saturday that ice had covered 27,000 square meters (10,500 square miles) of the sea surface by Thursday, the most expansive since 2008 when authorities began to collect such data. The administration expects the ice to continue to grow.

The article goes on and on, talking about further drops in temps, things frozen over, weather delays/cancellations and then, at the end, the AP inserts this:

The national meteorological administration said China is seeing dropping temperatures partly because of south-moving polar cold fronts, caused by melting polar ice from global warming. It said the air is moist and likely to dump heavy snow in China, Europe and North America.

So in spite of the fact that there has been NO global warming for 16+ years and that the proof of the gerrymandering by the UK researchers has been displayed prominently for over two years now, we still have to endure the ladling of BS upon us by our omniscient masters–That global warming is real and caused by humans. Meanwhile, Algore sells his beloved Current TV to the biggest fossil fuel entity on the planet. Hypocrite much, Al?

AT&T, Microsoft on donors list for Obama’s second inauguration, in change from 2009

    Published January 05, 2013

    | FoxNews.com

The inaugural oath will be the same, but there have been some big changes in how the event will be paid.

President Obama made a point in 2009 to reject big-dollar donations from corporations to finance his inauguration. This year, however, as he prepares for his second inauguration Jan. 21, the Presidential Inaugural Committee is logging donations from heavy hitters in the business world, including AT&T and Microsoft.

More than 400 donors have given money, according to the latest list posted to the committee’s website. Most of the donors are individuals, but the committee has said it will accept unlimited sums of corporate money to pay for Obama’s inauguration.

Money from lobbyists, political action committees or foreign donors will not be accepted.

Obama had banned corporate donors for his 2009 inauguration, but Reuters noted he still raised a record $53 million. The same restrictions applied to the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C., last September. The move was designed to give the president’s supporters ownership of the events.

The shift for the 2013 inauguration comes after the most expensive presidential campaign in history.

Donations were capped at $50,000 in 2009. This year’s organizing committee has encouraged individual gifts of $250,000, Reuters reported.

Even so, the White House has said it will downsize the festivities this year, with fewer people expected to attend the inauguration and only two official balls planned.

The subdued celebration is a big cut in reveling from the 10 balls Obama attended four years ago. Planners say the austerity in festivities is a reflection of tough economic times and an effort to minimize the burden on law enforcement, other security personnel and Washington residents.

Under the Constitution, the president’s second term begins Jan. 20 at noon, but he’ll be sworn in privately at the White House — with limited media coverage — since inaugural celebrations traditionally aren’t held on Sundays.

    for the Boy Kings crowning,

how many of these “corporations” are from Stimulus Bailout taxpayer dollars?

Anwar al-Awlaki May Have Bought Hijackers Pre-9/11 Tickets

    Agence France Presse – Jan. 4, 2013

The FBI suspected that US-born Al-Qaeda cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, killed in a 2011 drone strike in Yemen, could have bought air tickets for three of the 9/11 hijackers before the attacks, a transparency watchdog said.

Judicial Watch, which is based in Washington, cited government documents obtained under a Freedom of Information Act request which it said suggested the flights were taken shortly before the September 11, 2001 terror strikes.

The details of transactions carried out using the credit card were unclear from the heavily-censored document, but Judicial Watch said they stemmed from searches of airline reservations made by Awlaki.

IANA: Al Qaeda suspect extradited from Britain to US

    London, Jan 3 (IANS)

A man accused of leading an Al Qaeda plot to set off bombs in Manchester has been extradited to the US because of his alleged involvement in a wider conspiracy to also bomb New York and Norway, BBC reported Thursday.

British prosecutors said there was not enough evidence to charge him in the country.

His lawyers argued he could be tortured if returned to Pakistan.

Many among the arrested men came to Britain as students.

Naseer was said to be the leader of the British end of the operation.

An email spoke about a “nikah” (Islamic wedding ceremony) believed to have been code for the attack.

AFP: Saudi jets bolster US drone attacks on Yemen: report

    Jan 4 2013

Saudi Arabia has provided fighter jets to assist the United States with its drone strikes against Al-Qaeda targets in Yemen, the London Times reported on Friday.

US drone attacks in Yemen nearly tripled in 2012 compared to 2011, according to the Washington-based think tank New America Foundation, and for the first time totalled[sic] more than in Pakistan last year.

AQAP took advantage of the weakness of Yemen’s central government during an uprising in 2011 against now ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh, seizing large swathes of territory across the south.

  4. Anonymoose

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/.....print.html

I swear, I quit guns in 1999 but I’m more upset with all this now than I was back then.

“A working group led by Vice President Biden is seriously considering measures backed by key law enforcement leaders that would require universal background checks for firearm buyers, track the movement and sale of weapons through a national database, strengthen mental health checks, and stiffen penalties for carrying guns near schools or giving them to minors, the sources said.”

This leak, was of course, most likely intentional. What does all this mean?

“universal background checks for firearm buyers”

First has to be closing the gun show exemption, the “loophole” they’ve been salivating about for over a decade. Do some guns get sold privately at shows to people who shouldn’t? I wouldn’t be surprised, but I’m yet to hear about mass sales of illegal weapons being traced to gun show purchases. Worst case–and it always is with Biden–is all private sales will have to go via a background check. How this will be done, who knows.

“track the movement and sale of weapons through a national database”

How? With the current legal setup all I could think of is rather than registering guns they start registering buyers. Someone passes a background check it goes in a file, they buy too many times then they get investigated. Worst case, universal gun registration; and with this administration I’d be surprised if they don’t keep trying to sell it as a crime database and not as a registration system.

    “strengthen mental health checks”

Something argued for since day one is tagging people who’ve been committed or declared a danger in the background check which would be good…..but wasn’t it already supposed to be like this? Clinton had touted this instant check system as some wonder to prevent crime because of all the databases it would pull together. Has it ever been disclosed what this database uses? Why do I get this feeling it’ll lead to mental fitness checks on any gun buyer?

“stiffen penalties for carrying guns near schools or giving them to minors”

………..OK, murder is already illegal, so is carrying a gun into a school….hasn’t worked so far. What difference will more penalties make? And giving them to minors–again already illegal.

“the White House is developing strategies to work around the National Rifle Association”

“White House aides have also been in regular contact with advisers to New York Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg (I), an outspoken gun-control advocate who could emerge as a powerful surrogate for the Obama administration’s agenda.”

So much for the reaching across the aisles and working with everyone blah-blah…..kind of like they already know what they’re going to do and the question is how to sell it….

“Once Obama’s proposals are set, he plans to lead a public-relations offensive to generate popular support.”

    Never mind.

I can only hope the popular sell doesn’t work as people will either lose interest or wonder where the jobs are at…..and enough people keep calling their congressman.

And that’s before the other ideas floating around like forcing gun owners to maintain million dollar liability insurance. Anyone remember the Clinton era proposals of arsenal licenses and trigger locks on everything?

And in the end, if they do all this who would this have stopped?

Look at Jared Loughner: he had been showing signs of problems, but no one had referred him for treatment–ergo he would have passed the check regardless.

Columbine: At least two of the guns were bought illegally, I can’t remember about the third.

Sandy Hook: Absolutely nothing. If you’re a legal gun owner and someone kills you and takes your gun, or you have the safe and trigger locks and everything else, but they break into all that then it won’t matter.

The attitude of the anti-gun crowd is just the availability of guns at all, and somehow the odd focus on not giving or letting minors play with guns. That almost is never the focus in mass shootings. The reality is often someone who is able to pass all the checks and commits a crime, and secondarily by theft or subterfuge.

  5. Arizona lawmaker’s push to criminalize fake Web identities raises free speech concerns
    FoxNews:http://www.foxnews.com/politic.....et-posers/

State Rep. Michelle Ugenti wants to send such offenders to prison if they get caught, and she has pre-filed legislation that would criminalize online impersonation. If it is passed, sending a text, making a Web page or sending an email in someone else’s name would be a felony.

Oh, that’s great…..MORE RED MEAT for the legal industrial complex. More criminalization of the internet. And just like China, who recently required people to register with their REAL names, we will not be able to engage in political dissent in America, because we may offend someone.
Here comes internet SPEECH CODES! -Just like on campus.
Now democrats can keep an even larger score card of who is making what comment against their ideology, and block them from government services, and use government to harass them, which already happens, and “conservatives” like Ugenti are going to make it happen for them, way to think ahead there lady!

THIS IS WHY I DON’T TRUST REPUBLICANS As soon as you trust them, they seem to have core principles, THEN THEY PULL CRAP LIKE THIS! Between “gettin’ the man off my back” liberals, and “limited government” conservatives, whittling away your rights, you won’t have any left under their totalitarian power-sharing agreement!

Here is how I am going to “waste my vote” from now on, (as if I am not wasting it already):

    3. Tea Party Conservative.
    4. No one.

    Michelle Ugenti’s homepage:
    http://www.azleg.gov/MembersPa.....ion_ID=107

    • Also, whenever you pass more legislation, what you are doing is creating another segment of the population that is UNEMPLOYABLE!

      Felony =
      • Unemployable = another welfare recipient, free-lance drug dealer etc
      • No passport to seek employment overseas
      • No federal funds for college
      • No government loans to start your own company
      • No voting rights
      • No 2nd Amendment rights (the amendment conservatives seem to care about)
      • No benefit of the doubt for any future court appearances
      • Account = zero after paying lawyer and court fees
      • Desperation, homicide/suicide criminal activity (if you have 1 felony, who cares if you have another?)
      • The felon is basically in an open-air prison, unable to work, travel, or take care of him/herself.

All of this, because you wanted to tweak someone on the internet? Wow, over-kill don’t you think? And not to mention the floodgates opening to all the punishments and rules it will enable that a future politician will say, “gee these were unintended results”—-no kidding, that’s why you error on the side of doing NOTHING, and protect people’s freedom to do what they want, even if there are some “unintended consequences” of doing that.

But politicians can’t leave well enough alone, they need to put SOMETHING in their political portfolio, even if it sounds good, but the results were bad, at least they tried.

Waukesha dairy plant Golden Guernsey suddenly closes

    By Thomas Content

Waukesha – The Golden Guernsey dairy processing plant in Waukesha that supplies milk to schools and supermarkets was closed suddenly Saturday when employees showed up for work and were told not to stay, sources said.

Lynn Hiemke, president of Mapleton Dairy Haulers in Oconomowoc, said he was told by Golden Guernsey managers early Saturday that the plant was shutting down.

Hiemke said he was stunned by the closing and left scrambling as he tried to find alternate supplies of milk for hundreds of local schools.

There’s going to be schools without milk on Monday morning – a lot of them – and they don’t know it yet,” he said.

The dairy operation at 2101 Delafield St. has been under new ownership since last year.

Open Gate Capital, a Los Angeles private equity firm, bought Golden Guernsey after its former owner, Dean Foods, was required to sell the plant to settle antitrust concerns.

The U.S. Department of Justice – along with attorneys general in Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan – had raised concerns that Dean Foods would have too much of a share of the school milk supply in Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. As a result, they required Dean to sell the Waukesha plant while allowing it to retain its dairy processing plant in De Pere, just south of Green Bay.

    http://www.jsonline.com/busine.....59901.html

Now Dean has the same market share they would have otherwise, but one dairy is closed and 100 jobs gone forever.

    Thanks, DoJ!

Infowars: Obama-Backed Syrian Rebels Praise Bin Laden, Celebrate 9/11 Attacks

By Paul Joseph Watson – Jan 5, 2012

A shocking video has emerged which shows Obama administration-backed Syrian rebels singing songs in praise of Osama Bin Laden while celebrating the “sweet memory” of the attack on the World Trade Center on 9/11.

The footage is just the latest illustration of how the Obama administration, which has supported
Syrian rebels with over $200 million dollars in aid while the CIA has helped other gulf states oversee weapons transfers, is backing terrorists who openly espouse extremist anti-American ideologies.

Back in August, Obama signed a “secret order” authorizing U.S. support for the rebels.

A Syrian rebel recently quoted by McClatchy Newspapers was overheard to remark, “When we finish with Assad, we will fight the U.S.!”

Other militants have appeared in You Tube videos speaking of their desire to see the Al-Qaeda flag fly over the White House and impose Sharia law once the rebels are victorious across the region.

In related news, the brother of the leader of Al-Qaeda, Mohamed al-Zawahiri, has been captured by government forces in Syria, offering further proof that the terrorist group is heavily involved in the bid to topple President Bashar Al-Assad.

Barack Obama Appoints French Communist to His Economics Team

France24: Renowned French economist to join Obama’s team

    By Aude Mazoue – Jan 6, 2012

France’s Esther Duflo, a world renowned economist, has been nominated by US President Barack Obama to join a government body dedicated to advising the administration on global development policy.

Called the Global Development Council, the group was founded by Obama in 2010 to help shape US development efforts abroad.

Just Friday, the cover of financial news magazine The Economist depicted Obama wearing a beret, red neckerchief and a striped mariner shirt, under a headline that read “America turns European”. The article criticised[sic] the country’s recent fiscal-cliff deal as “lousy”, saying its mismanagement bore striking similarities to the “mess in the euro zone”.

After more than a decade in the US, Duflot was granted US citizenship in 2012.

The following year, Time magazine named Duflo one of 100 most influential people in the world. The magazine applauded her for relentlessly “questioning conventional wisdom”.

As co-founder and director of MIT’s Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab, Duflo has singled herself out by championing the idea that it is impossible to successfully tackle the issue of poverty without a thorough understanding of the population at hand.

Reuters: Mali crisis paving way for militant attacks on France: judge

    By John Irish – Jan 7 2013

PARIS (Reuters) – The insurgency that has seized the north of Mali is paving the way for attacks on France as more French Muslims of African origin are finding a cause in the conflict, Paris’s top anti-terrorism judge warned on Sunday.

As Mali’s former colonial ruler, France fears al Qaeda’s north African arm, AQIM, is cementing a base in the West African state that would provide a launch pad against French political and economic interests at home and abroad.

“We have a very large Malian community in France, but also from sub-Saharan Africa as a whole,” Marc Trevedic said in a rare interview with weekly newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche. “These ‘black’ French Muslims who were suffering from latent racism from ‘Arabs’ have for the first time found their jihad.”

“They are young, often dual nationals or who have links with sub-Saharan Africa,” he said. “They get in either through Niger or Algeria, but many are Malians who can go and visit their families and don’t need visas.”

Syrian refugee militants and immigrants riot attacks escalating against charity aid workers

The Washington Examiner: Riot breaks out in Syrian refugee camp in Jordan

    January 8, 2013

    ZAATARI, Jordan (AP) —

Police said seven Jordanian aid workers were injured when they were attacked by dozens of refugees while distributing bread for breakfast.

UNHCR says 597,240 refugees have registered or are awaiting registration with the agency in Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Egypt. Some countries have higher estimates, noting many have found accommodation without registering.

Fadi Suleiman, 30, said Zaatari camp conditions were “worse than living in Syria,” where rebels are fighting a civil war against authoritarian ruler Bashar Assad that has killed some 60,000 in nearly two years of fighting.

Zaatari has been the site of several previous violent refugee protests over harsh living conditions.

Most are staying in schools and apartments but a few are staying in tents they pitched near the border with Syria.

Mohammed al-Abed, a 30-year-old Syrian refugee in Turkey’s Yayladagi camp said the tents were equipped with heaters, but the bathrooms and lavatories were about 300-500 meters (yards) away.

“It’s a miserable situation, but I am ashamed to complain because we’re much better off than our brothers trapped in Syria,” he said, citing the Atmeh tent camp on the Syrian side of the border.

“At least we are better equipped with some heaters and blankets. They have nothing, no heating, no electricity. Nothing.”

The army has moved hundreds of additional troops to the northern town of Mopti (450 kilometers northeast of the capital).

The army has been in a state of disorder since the first coup last March, when about half its 9,000 personnel deserted.

For months many senior officers were uncertain of the loyalty of subordinate officers. The leader of the coup was a low ranking captain who was able to motivate a lot of dissatisfied (by corruption and mismanagement in the military) officers and troops to rebel.

The army has recovered from the coup-related confusion nine months ago and enlisted two thousand new recruits to bring its strength up to 7,000.

The army is still able to maintain control of the government as well as garrison Mopti with over a thousand troops who will fight, or at least not flee at the sight of the enemy.

The army has replaced the government leadership twice in the last year, once in March and once in December. The army was forced to give up control in April but now has pro-army politicians in charge again.

To counter this, al Qaeda is offering local teenagers cash and a gun to join them.

MOJWA is unique because its leadership is black African.

It appears that MOJWA is striving to show they can be more extreme and effective than the Arab dominated al Qaeda.

MUJWA and AQIM threaten “another Iraq” (in terms of terror attacks) if the planned international force invades northern Mali.

That invasion is now scheduled for next September or even later.

I wonder what this international invasion will be called? Dunia Vita III

The Daily Caller: CAIR leader claims Muslims discovered America First

    Jan 4 2013

Muslims discovered the Americas long before Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492, the head of a D.C.-based jihad-linked Islamic lobbying group told a Saudi TV station Dec. 27.

CAIR did not respond to The Daily Caller’s request for an explanation of Awad’s comments, which were recorded by the Middle East Media Research Institute.

Awad’s claim was made during an interview in which he argued that Muslims can settle in the U.S. without violating Islam’s myriad Sharia rules about religion, diet, speech, friendships, work and political loyalty.

“…Muslims can settle in the U.S. without violating Islam’s myriad Sharia rules about religion, diet, speech, friendships, work and political loyalty.”

Meaning Muslims have a right to follow Sharia Law and their entitlement to the same benefits as the American Indians.
