Recession Didn’t Stop Global Warming

From a giddy Reuters:

2010 matches record for world’s hottest year: WMO

January 20, 2011

GENEVA (Reuters) – Last year tied for the hottest year on record, confirming a long-term warming trend, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) said on Thursday.

The first ten years of the millennium have proved to be the hottest decade since climate records began, it said.

Which is intriguing, since Phil Jones’ Climate Research Unit at East Anglia University still have the graphic (above) on the front of their website. That is to say, even the CRU, the center of the ‘global warming’ universe, admits that there has been no increase in the world’s temperature this century.

By the way, the impressive sounding World Meteorological Organization is just another United Nations front group. In fact, the WMO created the IPCC, which gave us the preposterous about the Himalayan glaciers and many other laughable hoaxes.

"Data received by the WMO show no statistically significant difference between global temperatures in 2010, 2005 and 1998," the United Nations body, which compiles its ranking from data provided by British and U.S. agencies, said in a statement.

Data from British institutes on Wednesday showed last year was the world’s second warmest behind 1998, while the other two main groups worldwide tracking global warming, based in the United States, said 2010 was tied for the hottest on record.

Over the 10 years from 2001 to 2010, global temperatures have averaged 0.45 degrees Celsius (0.83 degrees Fahrenheit) above the 1961-1990 average and are the highest ever recorded for a 10-year period since climate records began, WMO said

For the sake of argument, let’s stipulate that these claims are true and that 2010 is tied for the title as the hottest year on record.

We have just inadvertently performed a massive scientific experiment. We have had an historically long and deep worldwide recession, while we have been at the same time obsessively tracking the earth’s temperature.

There has been a massive downturn in industrial production all around the world. And guess what? It didn’t make the slightest difference on the earth’s temperature. In fact, it supposedly went up.

Ergo ‘global warming’ is not man-made.

QED.

eentsy tiny fairies are pushing temperatures up to punish us for our sins of not being politically correct enough and revelling in racism and hate speech..

If we would just agree to let AlToad be our king, and let a co2 pellet explode in Rush Limbaugh’s brain, the fairies would forgive us and push temperatures back down again.

This is what my computer model tells me.

“Data from British institutes on Wednesday showed last year was the world’s second warmest behind 1998,……”
Now we are back to citing British Institutes?
    Game over!!

  3. mr_bill says:

The only obvious conclusion to the liberal “mind” is that we just haven’t been taxed enough to solve their made-up “problem.”

  4. wirenut says:

So the deliberate destruction of whole industries and economies just isn’t enough. Cut back on funding hack-artist agenda driven science. Problem solved! Now, can I have my incandescent light bulb back? Oh! Maybe extending unemployment benefits to election cycles is the culprit. My bad.

  5. canary says:

2010 was hottest, as a result of the growing green environmental rules & reg.s have hit such a high peak?
And the cold weather being signs of global warming are vicious in insisting the closing down of NYC airports over snow was a sign. Ohhhh. Now we know why the NY unions didn’t pick up the garbage.

And if China doesn’t quit growing & building such as 3 stacked buck beds they will throw the earths spinning
off. China weighs too much. And we do have liberals in congress & senate that believe one child per
family. I think the over-population fear is going to come back into style.

  6. Right of the People says:

“Ergo ‘global warming’ is not man-made.”

Steve on this one you’re wrong. The whole “global-warming” hysteria is man made. There is no such thing as “global-warming” just like there is no such thing as a wise liberal or a moderate Muslim. They just don’t exist.

  7. bill says:

When you are up to your butt in snow, this is a really tough lie to pedal. it’s amazing they try.

  8. merkelerk says:

bill…They don’t have to try very hard when the media prints every word of doom the warmists utter.

Even if they admit mistakes and retract a story, the damage is done simply because the majority of people have turned the job of thinking over to the media. Hey “Idol” is on the tube, you guys go ahead and do whatever you think is right, I’m busy.

  9. bobdog says:

And yet…and yet…it was 45 degrees below ZERO last night in Minnesota.

    Chicago wasn’t exactly balmy, either.
