Record 1.2M Left ‘Labor Force’ In January?

From ZeroHedge:

Record 1.2 Million People Fall Out Of Labor Force In One Month, Labor Force Participation Rate Tumbles To Fresh 30 Year Low

by Tyler Durden

A month ago, we joked when we said that for Obama to get the unemployment rate to negative by election time, all he has to do is to crush the labor force participation rate to about 55%.

Looks like the good folks at the BLS heard us: it appears that the people not in the labor force exploded by an unprecedented record 1.2 million. No, that’s not a typo: 1.2 million people dropped out of the labor force in one month!

So as the labor force increased from 153.9 million to 154.4 million, the non institutional population increased by 242.3 million meaning, those not in the labor force surged from 86.7 million to 87.9 million. Which means that the civilian labor force tumbled to a fresh 30 year low of 63.7% as the BLS is seriously planning on eliminating nearly half of the available labor pool from the unemployment calculation…

Pretty appalling.

This is just data manipulation from the Obama administration. They had to hide the correction for birth/death statistics from last year somewhere. I’ll bet 1/2 of these are from that. Instead of putting another 500,000 people in the unemployed category, i.e. driving up the unemployment stat, they counted them as out of the labor force, driving down the unemployment stat. After all, there is an election to steal.

Look how easy it is to claim we are getting 250k net job growth and have credibility. The Republican Establishment isn’t going to challenge the premise.

McMitt: “I think the economy could be getting better. Just not because of what Obama did.”

Nothing is going to change, precisely because of what Obama has done and is doing.

Proving you can fool some of the people some of the time …

Some of the people all of the time …

    But the Media?

    They are fools all time.

This is probably due adjustments they do annually that has something to do with businesses that have “died”. Looks like a whole lotta them died, eh?

They will be able to game the unemployment stats by at least 2% between now and the election. The only way the gubamint unemployment stat won’t be below 8% by November is if another depression starts and the numbers are so bleak that even the professional liars statistiacians are embarrassed to twist them more that.

The Demonic Party game plan: Make it profitable for people to drop through the cracks and out of the work force by providing food stamps, unemployment checks, and other welfare. Then the Demonics can say, “What unemployed? Where are they? Things are obviously improving!”

These Limbo people stay quiet and vote Demonic Party so their gravy train will continue.

The fact that nobody sees or reports this – for the most part – is a devastating measure of the corruption around us. We Americans will find out what we’re really made of in the next ten months.

I also caught this story, but there’s some controversy. Apparently, the 1.2M figure is due to regular adjustments from the census. I still have a few suspicions, but I’m in over my head. Would love to hear your thoughts Steve.

  7. I wonder if age is a factor and many have simply gone on to retirement. Needless to say, there is a significant number of people over fifty who are unemployable just because of their age. Your thoughts?
