Reid: Jobs Bill Is All About Gov’t Union Jobs

From The Hill:

Reid signals government jobs must take priority over private-sector jobs

By Pete Kasperowicz – 10/19/11

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Wednesday indicated Congress needs to worry about government jobs more than private-sector jobs, and that this is why Senate Democrats are pushing a bill aimed at shoring up teachers and first-responders.

"It’s very clear that private-sector jobs have been doing just fine; it’s the public-sector jobs where we’ve lost huge numbers, and that’s what this legislation is all about," Reid said on the Senate floor

Of course, we already knew that this is what Mr. Obama’s jobs/tax bill is "all about." But it is nice to have official confirmation from the highest ranking Democrat in Congress.

And never mind that there are untold more government employees now than when the Mr. Obama entered the White House. Meanwhile, there are millions of private sector employees who have been laid off.

This is bill is about keeping those inflated government numbers high at the expense of the private sector. Since getting into office Mr. Obama has done everything he can to expand the federal government payroll. And now he wants to make sure it stays expanded. Because government workers tend to vote for Democrats. And unionized government workers are even more of a sure thing.

As the Bureau of Labor Statistics notes, in highlighting their 2010 data, "the union membership rate for public sector workers (36.2 percent) was substantially higher than the rate for private sector workers (6.9 percent)."

And not only do the unions man call centers and ring door bells for Democrats. Union dues help fund the Democrat party. Which is why they must take priority of private sector jobs.

Also, notice when this temporary bailout run out. One year from now. Which will be just in time to get the Democrat public sector foot soldiers back out on the streets again right before the November 2012 elections.

Lastly, someone needs to remind Mr. Reid that it is not the federal government’s job to hire teachers and firefighters. Teachers and firefighters are paid by state, local and municipal governments.

And the only reason local governments are laying off teachers and police is because their pensions and healthcare are eating up far too much of their budgets. But the public sector unions would rather have layoffs give up any of their lavish benefits.

Republicans better make a political commercial using this quote, and all the other slam dunks out there for next years debate.

Even the laziest non-political couch potato out there, should be able to put 2 and 2 together, and vote accordingly.
