Reid Wants NFL To Force Change Of ‘Redskin’ Name

From a cheering New York Times:

Senator Urges N.F.L. to Change Name of Redskins

By EMMARIE HUETTEMAN | April 30, 2014

WASHINGTON — Senator Harry Reid of Nevada on Wednesday called on the N.F.L. to change the name of the Washington Redskins, urging the league to respond to charges that the name is offensive by following the example set by the N.B.A. in punishing the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers…

We knew the Sterling scandal would be used as a backdoor way to try to force Dan Snyder to change the name of the Redskins. And, of course, it is that moral paragon, Harry Reid, who is leading he charge.

The same Harry Reid who said Obama could get elected because he was clean and could speak without a negro dialect, unless he wanted to.

Reid, a Democrat and the Senate majority leader, said N.F.L. Commissioner Roger Goodell should intervene because Daniel Snyder, the Redskins’ owner, refused to change the name. “For far too long the N.F.L. has been sitting on its hands doing nothing while an entire population of Americans has been denigrated,” Reid said on the Senate floor.

“Denigrated” — isn’t that a racist term?

He added later, “Remove this hateful term from your league’s vocabulary and rid the league of racism and bigotry.”

Reid praised the N.B.A. for having “set the standard” for handling racism in sports.

Not so fast. The NBA needs to ban the Washington Wizards, too. After all, the name is clearly a tribute to the KKK, which is led by the Grand Wizard.

(No, Reid’s colleague Robert Byrd never made it that far. He only achieved the rank of Exalted Cyclops, which just below Grand Wizard.)

I’m waiting for the news story that Hairy Greed is looking to buy the Redskins with a consortium of Chinese investors. This is probably an act to drive down the price.

There seems to be a surge in thought crime in the last few weeks.

He may just have the federal authorities come to a Redskins’ game and deny them access to the field, stating that it’s “federal land”.

“We the people urge the Senate to pass a balanced budget”.

America – While Senators urge the NFL to force name changes, the people of the United States are wondering how the biggest jackasses ever get elected. Story not at seven….

  3. “We the people urge the Senate to immediately put Harry Reid to sleep.”

    Now that’s a bumper sticker
