Republican Wins Obama’s Home District

From the Honolulu Advertiser:

GOP’s Djou wins Hawaii special election for Congress

May 22, 2010

Honolulu City Councilman Charles Djou has won the special election in urban Honolulu’s 1st Congressional District, the first Republican sent to Washington, D.C., to represent the Islands in two decades.

According to final count from the state Office of Elections, Djou had 39.4 percent of the vote, followed by 30.8 percent for state Senate President Colleen Hanabusa and 27.6 percent for former congressman Ed Case. The remaining 11 other candidates attracted the rest of the vote

Djou would serve out the remaining months of former congressman Neil Abercrombie’s term in Congress, which ends in January 2011. Abercrombie resigned in February to concentrate on his campaign in the Democratic primary for governor…

Djou would be the first Republican from Hawaii sent to Congress in 20 years and only the third since statehood

This Republican victory is in Mr. Obama’s hometown, a district he carried by a margin of 70% to 28% in 2008.

Funny how we haven’t heard much about this election back here on the mainland.

Why is that?

Steve, Funny how we haven’t heard much about this election back here on the mainland.

In the wee hours as I was surfing TV liberal tv news station I closely read a trailer at bottom of screen said a Democrat had won the election in Hawaii.

Can’t remember, I think it was MSNBC some female anchor I appall was comforting the U.S. muslim soldier complain his difficulties in finding another soldier to share his beliefs at Ft. Hood. Let’s hope it stays that way.

or C-SPAN Hillary being asked by a Republican if she could at least explain in “8th grade math” where she came up with the numbers that Russia’s reduced their stockpiles of weapons. Everyone was stoic and no one laughed, lol.

Obama & relatives did nothing but make Hawaii their pit stop and didn’t give back. The most miserable time of his life going to a private school. He did have fun with his native Hawaiians making fun of tourists skin turn pink from the sun, harming tourism. Partying in the red light district, hanging with drug dealers, and going inside a Hawaiian Restaurant’s meat fridge with a friend to shoot up drugs.
Obama has made it clear Indonesia, will always be his childhood home, the most joyful memories of his life, and Chicago became his official home.
Sure, Hawaii’s University paid for his father’s education, in which he smited them in his graduation article, then his step-father’s free education until Indonesia made him go back to stop the growing radicalism muslims (which if his mother had known, she’d never gone there. Yet, she did a pit stop back to Hawaii for free education & food stamps, and went back to Indonesia, giving nothing back to Hawaii, but yelling “they are not my people!”, until she got sick and complained of a little paper work to get medical insurance.
Then Obama’s sister got her education and married a man who looks half her who got his lengthy education at the University of Hawaii, only to move to Washington DC once Obama was elected.
The only one that didn’t take from Hawaii was Obama’s maternal grandmother. Why she didn’t even go to the hospital when Obama’s sister called a few days prior to election that their grandmother didn’t have long.
Then Christmas, Hawaii noted in news Obama’s huge film crew that came in a separate plane, they thought in case he gave a presidential speech. Nope, it was for Obama to play himself in the documentary being
made about his mother, whose main them is her work in Indonesia, but Hawaii is significant for the documentary because it was a pit stop. And then the Christmas bomber incident, the Hawaiians saw for themselves, the Obamas go about their vacation routine as if nothing happened.
Obama didn’t even get married in Hawaii. Did it make more sense to pay his relatives and childhood thug friends to fly to Chicago.
And it didn’t help when on the visit to Hawaii, Obama didn’t remember
the church for a memorial for his grandmother was one he had attended until someone pointed it out to him. huh? Oh yeah. Honey, Kids, I forgot I went to a church in Hawaii. Real landmark now.

    Woo Hoo….congratulations.

Scott Brown (lawyer) and now Charles Djou (lawyer) are in Washington with………a ton of other lawyers!

I wouldn’t have voted for either of these two people.

Don’t you get it? Lawyers are all on the same team. They sit in a room, run up your bill, and then come out, pretending to wipe off sweat giving you the bad news that what you want is simply not obtainable. A negotiated settlement was made that makes both parties lose, but lawyers never lose, and stick you with the bill.

THEY ARE ALL ON THE SAME TEAM! What a scam, we cheer as if we have made any progress here…..

    • Right of the People says:

      Mithrandir,

Q: How do you get a lawyer down out of a tree?

      A: Cut the rope.
