Reuters: Obama Up 6% Over Romney Since June

From the CREEPS (Committee To Reelect the President) at Reuters:

Obama expands lead on Romney, voters more optimistic

By John Whitesides | July 10, 2012

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama expanded his lead over Republican challenger Mitt Romney to 6 percentage points in the White House race this month as voters became slightly more optimistic about the economy, a Reuters/Ipsos poll showed on Tuesday.

Four months before the November 6 election, Obama leads Romney among registered voters 49 percent to 43 percent. In June, Obama held a slim 1-point lead over the former Massachusetts governor

Why would people like Obama more since June? Since then he has given us backdoor amnesty for illegals. And now we know Obama-Care is the officially the largest tax increase in history.

Obama’s improved standing was fueled in part by a slight rise in optimism about the future, with the number of Americans who think the country is on the wrong track dropping 5 percentage points to 58 percent.

Why would there be a rise in optimism since June, since the economy is actually getting worse?

By the way, according to the poll’s data (a pdf file), Reuters oversampled ‘total Democrats’ (including leaners) by 9% over ‘total Republicans," (47% compared to 38%).

Hilariously, Reuters even asked the respondents if they identified with the Occupy Wall Street movement. 48% of them claimed that they did, at least a little. So you have to wonder where Reuters found these people. Maybe they polled the local bus station.

The poll found 45 percent of Americans think Obama’s performance on jobs and the economy has been unsatisfactory, and only 35 percent think it has been satisfactory. That is Obama’s lowest mark since December.

Remember, we were just told Obama’s approval rating has gone up because more people are optimistic about the economy.

Obama was rated more positively on every other issue, including healthcare, where he earned positive ratings from 44 percent of Americans and unsatisfactory marks from 41 percent

So “people feel a little better” now that they know they will have to pay a tax if they don’t have health insurance. That makes sense.

I always wondered where Herr Goebbles went after the war. Apparently he founded Reuters.

BTW – Joseph Goebbels, in his letters, credited Woodrow Wilson’s political and liberal ideology with forming his ability to tell the Big Lie. Goebbels proudly claimed to have used Edward Bernay’s Wilson campaign strategies … well, here, read this ..

… Karl von Wiegand, foreign correspondent of the Hearst newspapers, an old hand at interpreting Europe and just returned from Germany, was telling us about Goebbels and his propaganda plans to consolidate Nazi power. Goebbels had shown Wiegand his propaganda library, the best Wiegand had ever seen. Goebbels, said Wiegand, was using my book Crystallizing Public Opinion as a basis for his destructive campaign against the Jews of Germany.

… so, kiddies, what we’re dealing with is a global phenomenon like unto the Smoke of Satan that Pope Pius VI claimed had somehow seeped into the church. Ours is the stench of all things anti-liberty that has flowed out of America’s leftist to hidebound the entire world with horror, filth, destruction and death in the name of the Workers.

Ther enemy lives in a hive in Washignton DC.

Clearly, the media has been lying on this whole subject to run cover for the halfrican.

There can be no other explanation but white-guilt run-amok, as well as wanting the nation to be socialist. Again, a very small number of people, those with very little skill in the job-market but with the great gift to BS their way around life are currently in control of the narrative. They see nothing wrong with this mainly because of their self-assured moral superiority.

It doesn’t matter that it’s a lie. In fact, they probably believe the lie themselves or, if faced with the truth, they somehow rationalize it to tell the lie anyhow because the numbers they, themselves accumulated must be wrong.

Skewed (or skewered) thinking like this cannot survive the test of time for it ends up being “hoist by its own petard”. Sadly, the media, when this happens either won’t talk about it or further spins the issue to try to win favor. Think: the last lies about Romney, or the Zimmerman 911 call editing.

As Rush points out, “The always lie”. It’s the only way they can get through the day. Living a lie, to them, is not so hard. Avoiding responsibility, accountability, all their lives. Hard to imagine people living like that but there are tons of people who do.

With realclearpolitics showing an Obama lead of just 1.6 (disastrous at this point in an incumbent election) and higher disapproval than approval now for Obama one has to wonder what is reuters motivation here. Are they mounting framework to say the election results are flawed as they did with Bush/Kerry? Are they trying to suppress the Romney vote by telling us “it’s all over now” or will it really suppress the Obama vote with the lazy and stoners staying home cause he’s a shoe-in?

  4. The demographics are my first stop when reviewing polls and invariably these polls are always (read: always) weighted in favor of Democrats/Liberals. Compounding the problem is most samplings are simply random adults – not likely voters or even registered voters. Or worse, a mixed bag of all three.

In short, these polls are little more than sloppy agitprop.

I find the comment section of most any online dead tree news forum to be a far more accurate gauge of public opinion. And currently, Obama & Co. will be BBQ’d by an exhausted and angry electorate come November.

Just something I noticed. Is it just me or does obama appear to have a darker complection in a lot of photos recently? Not sure if its the sun he gets on the golf course, the situation room photoshop treatment or is he just enjoying the tax free tanning beds while he still can, but start cruising the internet for pictures of him from 08-09 to ones we are seeing more of now.
