RGIII Blew Off Private Dinner With The Obamas!

From the Washington Post:

D.C. Council may push Washington Redskins into ‘Washington Redtails’

By Tim Craig | April 30, 2013

A D.C. Council member is preparing to introduce a resolution calling on the Washington Redskins to change its name, perhaps to the Washington Redtails.

Council member David Grosso, an independent elected last year, said he plans to pursue his non-binding resolution because the current name is “a derogatory, racist name.”

“It’s been a long time that we’ve had this name associated with Washington, and I think its time we take a stand and change it,” Grosso said…

“Washington’s name has been dishonored by association with the word ‘Redskins,’ ” the resolution states. “Because it is well known in America and in nations afar that American Indians have experienced utmost suffering and disrespect over the years.” …

In his resolution, Grosso urges the team to change its name to the Washington Redtails, noting that that was the nickname used by the Tuskegee Airmen, the pioneering aviation unit that broke the color barrier for U.S. military pilots in World War II…

Grosso said a change to the Redtails would be a relatively seamless. “You can still sing the song and everything,” said Grosso, before singing, “Hail . . . to the . . . Redtails.” …

We still don’t understand why the Redskins don’t change their name to the Elizabeth Warrens? Or the Ward Churchills? No one could complain then.

Meanwhile, we have this Twitter reaction from the Redskins’ quarterback, Robert Griffin III, via Twitchy.com:

Awesome: Redskins QB RGIII blasts ‘tyranny of political correctness’

Robert Griffin III @RGIII: "In a land of freedom we are held hostage by the tyranny of political correctness"

And this from the Washington Post:

Robert Griffin III: Why did he skip Correspondents’ dinner, Obama reception?

By Roxanne Roberts and Amy Argetsinger | April 29, 2013

RGIII apparently blew off not just the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner — where he was to be the guest of NBC — but a private pre-dinner reception with President Obama as well…

We’re told that Griffin was one of the elite cadre of dinner VIPs whose name was submitted a couple weeks earlier for clearance into the most exclusive reception of the entire weekend — a backstage meet-and-greet with the president and the first lady. Nicole Kidman, Bradley Cooper, and dinner entertainer Conan O’Brien joined WHCA President Ed Henry and other select guests on that elite list.

But RGIII never turned up…

No wonder he is being punished by his injury.

There is freedom of the speech in this country. If the Muslims can post “Jihad” posters in NYC
subways than the school has a right to freedom of speech.

Indians should be proud to be portrayed in a brave way in their history and not as gamblers and drunks on reservations.

    “The Original Homeland Security”
    I love that one, canary!

By the way, why is Grosso doing this? He’s just following his leader–Obama–who spent time calling an average basketball player to congratulate him on coming out of the closet but decided he would rather go to bed than talk to his staff about a terrorist attack in Benghazi. It’s always the misdirection that’s most important.

What is Obama going to say.

“Just because I called my native Hawaii friends brown-skins, the Brits “pasty pale yellow hairs”, and continue to idolize the “n” word, ….

…I am now president of the US and world and consider the greatest minority that is need of my help to aid in their sex lives, pride in their team, or to use them to make my own game and relatives game better. I’m hoping for the first female basketball star in the family, and my brother-in-law needs to coach until he’s 90 years so he doesn’t try and sponge off my name.

So calling a team the Redskins and has been that way for decades is racist and needs to be changed but blacks calling each other the N-word in public is okay? I was visiting a friend at college campus in MA and a black guy just screamed out “MY N*****s!!!” at his other friends in the cafeteria and we could hear it from across the place. No one really said anything and just tried to ignore the follow on repetition of the N-word about 15 times in three minutes in the groups boisterous talking. My friend said she gave up trying to stop that after she was basically ignored and told to piss off. If I said that I would have gotten my ass kicked by a number of the people and branded a racist but because a black guy said it then its okay?
