Santorum Says Global Warming Is A Theology

One of the DNC’s main talking points from over the weekend, via Reuters:

Santorum says Obama agenda not "based on Bible"

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Reuters) – Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum challenged President Barack Obama’s Christian beliefs on Saturday, saying White House policies were motivated by a "different theology."

This is simply not true, in any way shape or form. Santorum did not challenge "Obama’s Christian beliefs." But it makes for a nice headline and lead paragraph.

A devout Roman Catholic who has risen to the top of Republican polls in recent days, Santorum said the Obama administration had failed to prevent gas prices rising and was using "political science" in the debate about climate change.

Which is undeniably true.

Obama’s agenda is "not about you. It’s not about your quality of life. It’s not about your jobs. It’s about some phony ideal. Some phony theology. Oh, not a theology based on the Bible. A different theology," Santorum told supporters of the conservative Tea Party movement at a Columbus hotel…

What could be more clear? Mr. Santorum is saying that gas prices are going up because of Obama’s actions which are based upon his belief in manmade global warming. Which is, metaphorically speaking, a religion, a theology for Obama.

"This is just the latest low in a Republican primary campaign that has been fueled by distortions, ugliness, and searing pessimism and negativity – a stark contrast with the President who is focused everyday on creating jobs and restoring economic security for the middle class," said Obama campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt.

What a laugh. Santorum was complaining about how the hoax of global warming has hurt our economy through increasing gas prices and undermining our national security. Something that Obama has yet to address, or even be questioned about by our watchdog media. The same media who endlessly hectored President Bush about gas prices when they reached these heights back in the summer of 2008.

But the press and the rest of the Democrat Party are going apoplectic, being so religious themselves. And maybe they are right.

After all, how could anyone question Obama’s theology? We all know by now that Obama’s Christian theology is Reverend Wright’s Christian theology. So what is there to question?

There’s a great collective term being popularized describingthe worldview which is the base for the ‘fundamental change’ they Liberals are bringing: Utopian.

    With Dystopian results.

  2. I’m really warming up to Rick Santorum. This weekend he staked out a lot of territory and aggressively challenged the hate-theists and Obama-bots. He took Bob Schiefer apart on Fake The Nation. I think he sees there is power in standing up to the People of the Lie and their minions.

It could get him elected. Ronald Reagan was like this before he got the nomination. He hammered away on social issues. People forget that the GOP establishment hated Reagan and sabotaged him in 1976. They were still looking for a ‘progressive’ like Nelson Rockefeller in 1980.

That one happy warrior, his family, and his most unlikely campaign (even for a primary where pretty much anything has been possible) are now public enemy #1 to the whole Liberal Empire, and he is provoking a fear and rage in them and starting to inspire energy on the right that reminds me of what happened when Sarah popped onto the scene.

Has he learned from those who’ve walked before him and will he be able to break the false caricature they’re going to shove in people’s faces? Hopefully he’s not left standing alone this time.
