Sarkozy Says Multiculturalism Has Failed

From a gobsmacked Agence France-Presse:

Multiculturalism has failed, says French president

Thu Feb 10, 2011

PARIS (AFP) – French President Nicolas Sarkozy declared Thursday that multiculturalism had failed, joining a growing number of world leaders or ex-leaders who have condemned it.

"My answer is clearly yes, it is a failure," he said in a television interview when asked about the policy which advocates that host societies welcome and foster distinct cultural and religious immigrant groups.

"Of course we must all respect differences, but we do not want… a society where communities coexist side by side.

"If you come to France, you accept to melt into a single community, which is the national community, and if you do not want to accept that, you cannot be welcome in France," the right-wing president said.

And what a crazy ‘right-winger’ he is, too.

"The French national community cannot accept a change in its lifestyle, equality between men and women… freedom for little girls to go to school," he said.

"We have been too concerned about the identity of the person who was arriving and not enough about the identity of the country that was receiving him," Sarkozy said in the TFI channel show.

Nicely put. But the French have always had a way with epigrams.

British Prime Minister David Cameron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Australia’s ex-prime minister John Howard and Spanish ex-premier Jose Maria Aznar have also recently said multicultural policies have not successfully integrated immigrants.

They are also right-wing kooks, of course.

Merkel in October said efforts towards multiculturalism in Germany had "failed, totally." …

Britain’s Cameron last week pronounced his country’s long-standing policy of multiculturalism a failure, calling for better integration of young Muslims to combat home-grown extremism…

So will Mr. Obama and the rest of the Democrats and our media now fall into line? Since they all have long since claimed we need to follow enlightened Europe in all things.

Still we once again have to ask, did you ever think you would see Europe being more sensible than the United States?

  1. So… Rather than a veggie tray, he would like France to be a melting pot.

    Imagine that.

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
    With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she
With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

to which I add the lines:
And they shall become a part of us, not a separation of us
And our ways become theirs, for this is why they come.

Ahem… I didn’t want to say it, but “I TOLD YOU SO”.

I think it was Teddy Roosevelt that said, “There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism”.

And as usual in the US our li(e)brals are moving faster and faster every day to embrace and enact the very laws that will enshrine (forever) the very failure of multiculturalism and of course wealth redistribution, reparations and socialism – and of course the golden ring of this whole mess – universal healthcare – while every country of the world is 1) proof of the failures of these policies and 2) backing away from them as fast as they can (and while they still have a country left to save).

May all the li(e)brals and the majority of the GOP in DC rot in hell.

Now let’s see them put their actions where their mouth is. Britain and Germany are still socialist paradises despite what their leaders have said. Until they do something about it, they’re still just consumate politicians, dribbling out the stuff us on the right want to hear for a change so they could win us over for the next election.

  5. River0 says:

Is it ‘coincidence’ that at the very moment when Euro-Socialism is imploding and going bankrupt, the New Caliphate of Islam is emerging? We’re watching the whole world come apart at the seams, as two mutually exclusive, diametrically opposed philosophies face off against one another. Each has all kinds of arms and nukes, and one is dedicated to the eradication of the other. But, hey, the stock market is up today! Is that not good for a laugh? What are those people smoking?

“The closer you are to the enemy, the closer you are to God.” I think I’ll call someone in Israel to remind them that the time for appeasement is over. Some wake-up call, huh?

Even when the heads of the largest EU nations are facing reality, they cannot say what they really mean. Multiculturalism? No, multiculturalism has not failed. Asians have migrated to the EU and the US and have assimilated quite well. Those from India have also assimilated in the EU and the US. Legal immigrants from Central/South America, who have come here for opportunity, have also assimilated into their adopted cultures.

So let’s be honest here about what Sarkozy, Merkel and Cameron are really talking about. Muslims. It is Muslims (who are referred to as “Asian” in the European press) are the ones who have not only NOT assimilated, they are the ones that are creating chaos in every nation they migrate to. Example: when was the last time you heard of the Japanese, who have migrated to the West, demand they be given special considerations that are an antithesis to the culture? How about the others? Any demands on their part? Yet, the UK has instituted shiria courts in Great Britain. They have allowed “special” schools for children to indoctrinate in the Islamic way. Bill O’Reilly has a link to a great article about how text books were found in Muslim schools that were teaching the correct way to chop off the hands and feet of thieves and books that taught six-year olds that some Jews were monkeys and apes.

Europe has a Muslim problem and until they are willing to call it for what it is, they, and us, will never resolve the problem.

Haven’t I been telling you guys that Europe would grow a pair one day?

This is more like a hair on a pair, but at least it’s a start.

Meanwhile, our boy king’s brain is frozen circa 1983. I think it’s true that 95% of what you ever know, you learn by the time a person is 3 years old. Most people, of course, continue to learn during their entire lifetimes.

But in little lenin’s case, he learned 100% of what he will ever know by the time he was 22. You must change, but HE AIN’T CHANGIN NUTHIN.

Pro, my thoughts too. Even prior to the 5-10 years as a muslim in Indonesia when he stayed very conscious of things he hid from his mother and grandparents during those years, his step-father was a great influence
and very present in his grandparent’s first sprawling home in Hawaii before the move. Obama implies it was his bad behavior (he claimed it was “power” overtaking him, as the reason his mother sent him back to the U.S. so he could learn some “values and morals”. Didn’t happen. As a young teen he secretly converted to islam. HA, CA, NY, IL, Indonesian & Pakistan trips growing up as a teen, . Staying for a lengthy time in Indonesia while a Senator, and we can’t forget his campaigning in Africa for a radical muslim extremist relative in Africa on American tax-payers dime.
A lot played in to the roll of Obama being an absent minded husband & father until he became the American president & now actually spends dinner with his family for the first time. Muslim men are so disrespectful to women. Pushing that little girl down in school. Pushing a girl he dated in college. Michelle was lucky to be a large woman with a big tall brother. He’d have gotten his butt whipped.

      Pro –
While Europe may grow a pair, it maybe too late for them no matter how big they manage to grow.

From the the demographic information I’ve read, Europe has already reached a tipping point whereby Mooselimbs will be the majority there by 2040. Most mooselimb families in Europe are large while most European families have one child. They will “overtake” them very soon. It will be a real game changer.

You are correct that our “Little Lenin” He ain’t changing, our little narcissist knows everything.

Here’s hoping the Republicans in Congress grow a pair.

Maybe you aren’t a believer in evolution, but to me it’s obviously the way life evolves. Initially, Darwin held that all of the permutations of life happened because of the survival of the fittest, with species adapting gradually over time as they competed with each other for resources (i.e., food). Later, it was discovered that another factor was at work…environmental disruptions. There have been many, large and small, but the classic is the asteroid impact that wiped out the dinasaurs and allowed small mammels to survive and later, to prosper.

I mention that because the Steyn view is that simple demographics will make Europe Islamic in a couple of generations.

What Steyn doesn’t consider is the disruption that has shaped world cultures more than any other…war.

Europeans are a handful of generations removed from the warrior cultures of the Vikings, the Anglo Saxons, the Romans, and many many other violently successful tribes. It’s in their blood.

Europeans have weapons that make LED’s look like pea-shooters. Unless Europe voluntarilly commmits suicide, they will wipe out the Muslim world, unless China, India, Russia or the US does so first. I don’t care who you are, there comes a point where a people won’t tolerate a situation. Islam has zero chance to survive long-term. Maybe the Europeans will commit suicide. I doubt it.

We are beginning to see the dominant culture in the world wake up.

    • SinCity says:

IMHO, I am with pro on this one. I travel to Europe at least once a year, and most of the time I am in Denmark. the Danes are the direct decendants of the Vikings, from talking to my colleagues and other regular fellows, I find that each year they get less and less ‘tolerant’ of them. Especially when it comes to bending over for their culture. I often find that they get quite animated when you bring up the mohammed cartoons, and the resulting reaction in their wake.

The Euro media in many ways is a lot like ours, when it comes to their statist/lefty bent. That doesn’t necessarily reflect the man on the street. They do, however, like their mostly socialist utopia and they don’t seem to mind the taxes that goes with it. However, they are very unwilling to share with anyone other than their fellow 5.5mil. Danes though. Bottom line, is that I agree that I just don’t see Europe committing cultural suicide. Granted, it will get a lot worse in the mid-term, however eventually I think that they’ll wake up and defend their culture. As of now, it is too easy for the political class and the media to essentially buy off the immigrant vote with the public money.

Let’s briefly examine the two prior Middle Eastern Caliphates that play any relevance to History, where what’re now both the Shia and Sunni Islamic regions are represented equally:

      1. The Persian/Babylonian Empire:

      – Rose to prominence consuming weaker cultures at an age where the biggest King on the block was the man who got the greatest number of bodies onto a battlefield and willing to commit suicide for him.
      – Fell apart because the West revolutionized their military organization and industry to be vastly more efficient, as well as because of centuries of oppressive taxation to fund endless (and eventually fruitless) military campaigns dissolved the region into demographic destability.

      2. The Arab/Ottoman Empire:

      – Rose to prominence by consuming the weaker remnants of former European empires (mainly the Byzantine) and basically applying the previously existing state and legal apparati to their fundamentalist goals of global Islamic Jihad.
      – Fell apart basically the same way as Persia, which is to say the West basically evolved past them. They never improved or innovated upon, nor ever really established any real coherent economic policy between the regions they conquered, other than by imposing their brand of Islamic military feudalism. All of this is incredibly ironic because their control over strategic naval trade routes and natural resources was such an advantage that it’s thought to have played no small part in the decision for European expeditions that eventually yielded the New World.

If anything, I think this is the one blasted region that puts the whole theory evolution in doubt, at least in how it applies in a social or demographic context. Over the last 5000 years, the dominant philosophy there has gone from “kill or be killed” to the unbelievably worse “kill yourself and others, and get rewarded for it in heaven.” Then for some odd reason, there’s the Jews, the one culture that’s the demonstratedly repeated exception to the rule to the law of the land, and (not unsurprisingly) the one people everyone else in the area has been out to destroy at all costs.

For a detailed run-down on what would happen if the current Islamic World were to enter the real theatre of war again (not this terrorism sh**), read about what happened to the Ottoman’s 3rd Army Division at the beginning of the WWI Caucasus Campaign. Specifically, the Battle of Sarikamish, on the Allahu Akbar mountains.

Or, even easier, you can also look at any of the Seven wars since the establishment of modern Israel in ’48.

Or even easier, look at the Iraqi Revolutionary/Elite Guard in Gulf War I and II. Better yet, look at America’s behavior in both cases. What other military in History demonstrates such hands-down compassion for their surrendering enemy because they wholly understand that the individual soldiers are not as guilty of the evil of the tyrant they serve?
