Palin quitting might have been the right thing for many reasons, but it was not the right thing politically. It will haunt her forever.

Sara Palin left as governer of Alaska for reasons known only to herself. As for her popularity to Alaskans because she gave them money from the oil revenues, that's not all her doing. The Alaskans have been receiving money from the Permannent Fund years before Palin took office or before anyone even knew who she was. As for politics Palin needs a bit of polishing. Personally I like her but realize like all politicians she has her faults. What she needs is someone who has the courage to step up and mentor her on the arena of Washington politics. As for her (for whatever reason) angering and scaring the hell out of the left, I think it's pretty funny.

Hell, the Man Child was only in the Senate for about 150 days before he decided he had so much experience that HE should be president. Waiting for my book to come from Amazon.

"but the more they put her down, the more I’d be pleased as punch to pull the lever for her."

Yeah, that's how I am beginning to feel, my mother said be nice to girls and the downtrodden. Sarah can take care of herself. But, like the jokes go about Catholics doing things just to irk the Pope, I'd vote for Palin just to irk Schieffer. And his ilk. Good saying, "Irk his Ilk."

"Irk his Ilk." "Irk his Ilk." "Irk his Ilk." "Irk his Ilk."

Ted Knight was much smarter.

A quitter? How about Hillary and Barack, they both QUIT the Senate. Aint it or no?

"A few years to mature."

She had more experience at the start of the campaign than our current Community Organizer in Chief.

She did exactly the right thing in quitting - why should she continue to have to spend her own money along with that of Alaska's voters to defend herself against frivolous ethics lawsuits?

If Alaska's laws on such thing were reasonable she would never have needed to step down.

I seem to remember after The Oblamer's speech in 2004, Dems close to Oblamer told him not to run in 2008. It would be too soon. If it's just as "too soon" for Palin, she's a shoe in.

"You know, it makes for provocative reading, I think she’ll sell a lot of books, but I don’t think it’s going to help re-establish her as a political candidate."

They were saying the same exact stuff on This Week. The new set of talking points is to blow off the amount of books she can sell, as though that's the easiest thing in the world and a sign of her lowly red-neck status. You see, selling virtually no books at all, like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, is nuanced and intellectual. The truth is they (liberals and fake conservatives alike) are pea green with envy over her book sales. It's pathetic. They are terrible at trying to hide it. David Brooks looks close to tears lately. Of course, it doesn't "mean" anything. Palin is just another entertainer like Rush. They don't have any real influence - because liberals and RINOs say so!
They drip with condescension and repeat meaningless talking points, but the strain on their faces says it all. It's becoming more and more alarming how disconnected from the American people these talking heads really are. They don't have a clue what this is all about.

"It’s kind of like a baseball player going into a slump and blaming the manager or blaming the bat boy or blaming the fans or something."
Yeah, because no one has spent the last 10 months whining about what he "inherited." When will they mention Obama's penchant for the blame game? And heaven forbid a Republican defend herself against "people that most people don’t know who they are." What does that have to do with the price of tea in China? Is she only allowed to talk about famous people?

They sure love Huckabee lately, don't they? Like Rush always says, they'll tell us who they fear.
I like Palin, but she has never been my favorite pick for the White House. I'd go for Duncan Hunter and a few others first, but the more they put her down, the more I'd be pleased as punch to pull the lever for her. How many others are they pushing toward her with their endless foot stomping tirade about how she'll never, ever win anything important ever, ever again?

News Readers and actors confuse personal popularity for actual intelligence.
Cronkite declared the Vietnam war lost, Ted Danson declared the planet doomed, Suzanne Sommers has declared conventional cancer treatment a fraud, and the list goes on.
They rushed to praise Saddam Hussein, they declared Cuba a paradise on earth, and they go positively orgasmic over Obama.
They have no background in the areas they declare expertise in, they've done no research, they defy logic; they just find a cause to gain publicity and run with it.
They need to follow one simple rule - it's better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
