School Kids Taught To Praise Obama

From Fox News:

Elementary School Students Reportedly Taught Songs Praising President Obama

Thursday, September 24, 2009

A video posted on YouTube appears to show a New Jersey elementary school class being taught to sing praises of the "great accomplishments" of President Obama.

The video shows nearly 20 young children taught a song overflowing with campaign slogans and praise for "Barack Hussein Obama," repeatedly chanting the president’s name and celebrating his accomplishments, including his "great plans" to "make this country’s economy No. 1 again.

The video identifies the kids as students at the B. Bernice Young Elementary School in Burlington, N.J., with taping taking place last June.

The song quotes directly from the spiritual "Jesus Loves the Little Children," though Jesus’ name is replaced with Obama’s: "He said red, yellow, black or white/All are equal in his sight. Barack Hussein Obama."

Among other lyrics, touting a fair-pay bill Obama signed in January: "He said we must be clear today/Equal work means equal pay."

The author of the full lyrics is unknown, but a woman — possibly a teacher — can be heard in the beginning of the video correcting and helping a student who has forgotten the words…

Maybe this is one of those ACORN partnership schools.

If it isn’t, it might as well be.

By the way, Fox News seems to be the only media outlet covering this story so far.

For the record, here are the lyrics from the two songs, also courtesy of Fox News:

Lyrics: Songs About President Obama

The following are the lyrics of two songs reportedly taught to a class at a New Jersey elementary school full of praises for the "great accomplishments" of President Obama.

Thursday, September 24, 2009

Song 1:

Mm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said that all must lend a hand
To make this country strong again
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said we must be fair today
Equal work means equal pay
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said that we must take a stand
To make sure everyone gets a chance
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said red, yellow, black or white
All are equal in his sight
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

Mmm, mmm, mm
Barack Hussein Obama

Song 2:

Hello, Mr. President we honor you today!
For all your great accomplishments, we all doth say "hooray!"

Hooray, Mr. President! You’re number one!
The first black American to lead this great nation!

Hooray, Mr. President we honor your great plans
To make this country’s economy number one again!

Hooray Mr. President, we’re really proud of you!
And we stand for all Americans under the great Red, White, and Blue!

So continue —- Mr. President we know you’ll do the trick
So here’s a hearty hip-hooray —-

Hip, hip hooray!
Hip, hip hooray!
Hip, hip hooray!

Maybe we have finally found the replacement for the hated ‘Star Spangled Banner’ at last.

By the way, we are reminded by our friend Clarice Feldman that this is the same school district that staged an anti-terrorism exercise where the terrorists were Christian fundamentalists, as we noted back in April of 2007.

(Thanks to Nick B for the heads up.)

I remember in third grade, our teacher was teaching us about slavery and how it is “bad to be white” in our all-white school. She also taught us slavery songs like “we shall overcome” and “swing low sweet chariot” and when the parents found out about it, she was put on suspension and almost fired…and the curriculum for that semester was suddenly changed and we had no clue what the heck happened.

I would hope that parents step in, as they should and put a stop to this.

  2. proreason says:

No parallels to Nazi Germany here.

Until thousands of them are mini-goosestepping in parades, you would be a nut to say there was any similarity at all to the mania that possessed Germany in the 1930’s.

America’s mania is totally different. Well, except for taking over private businesses, non-stop propaganda, state control of most of the media, threats to his opponents from the Fuhrer, attacks on individuals by the Fuhrer, the ego-mania of the Fuhrer, incessant lying, and a few hundred other things.

Pointing something like that out would mean that you were a racist.

    Next topic.

    • Rusty Shackleford says:

Yup, Pro….it’s eerie alright. Perhaps because of the time-distance from it, people are shamefully unaware how insidious the whole thing was….a slow, murmuring undercurrent at first that became the furor to the fuhrer that it was. I see it. It is unnerving to me and I would like to ask the survivors of the deathcamps what they see and interpret.

    • Flession says:

I seem to recall Steve posting a video awhile back with Lenin’s Potatoes, describing that “Yes, We Can” song.

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBoBc-ifDmk and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdPSqL9_mfM respectfully.

Just make it stop, mommy…make it stop.

    • wardmama4 says:

I have to wonder how anyone who ‘approves’ of this would respond if asked – Well what would be your opinion if former President Bush had someone who had done something like this?

You know that their head would explode with anger and hate (and you’d be covered in spittle) – yet this is just some spontaneous recognition well deserved since the black man ain’t had nuttin for no time, eber.

      What pure b***s***

    • caligirl9 says:

You hit my feelings on the nail head, wardmama. It would have been just as wrong for either Bush to be praised in song, wrong for Clinton, and yes, even wrong for Ronald Reagan.

This reeks of Hitler Youth … and for some reason, there isn’t enough parental outrage, they just shrug it off as being harmless and educational.

Do we know the source of this video? I’m betting it was a parent. At least here in California, if anyone (other than parents) wants to photograph kids at school, there’s forms that have to be returned and you have to say why you are taking those photos (research, marketing, historical, etc.). There are restrictions on where those images are placed—there is much concern about the privacy of children.

Which also means I bet songs like this happen plenty out here on the wackjob left coast.

P.S. Anyone else think the bridge of the first song sounded suspiciously like Queen’s “Another One Bites the Dust?” Just me … okay.

    • Petronius says:

      bam. bam. bam.
      Another one bites the dust
      Another one bites the dust
And another one gone, and another one gone
      Another one bites the dust.

Old Petronius’ theme song. Nice of you also to notice, Caligirl9!

Freddie Mercury (Farrokh Bulsara), lead singer of Queen, was a bisexual who died 24 Nov 1991 of complications from AIDs. Mercury’s ashes are at Kensal Green Cemetery, where also rest the remains of other British greats such as Wilkie Collins, Isambard Kingdom Brunel, William Makepeace Thackery, and Anthony Trollope, among others. John Deacon retired from Queen following Mercury’s death, but Brian May and Roger Taylor made attempts to revive the rock group with a replacement singer.

If memory serves, Mercury got his start selling bric-a-brac and second-hand clothes from an antiques stall on Portobello Road. It is a supreme irony that “moderate” Islamic groups engineered the cancellation of Mercury’s (posthumous) 60th birthday celebration, on grounds that his sexual orientation was incompatible with Islam. The insult to this rock legend was gratuitous, because the man was not Muslim––Mercury was of Persian and Zoroastrian heritage, a British patriot, and immensely proud of his British citizenship.

Perhaps it should also be noted that Freddie Mercury and Queen were blacklisted by the United Nations because they violated the UN boycott of white South Africa by performing at Sun City, which was then located in one of the former apartheid Bantustans.

    Principal’s e-mail: dking@burltwpsch.org

I’ve sent a very direct condemnation of the practice.

    • Liberals Demise says:

They’ve taken the site down, Rusty. Too bad ….. I was tell them we just got rid of a dicktater named Sadam Hussien. He too made kids sing praises about him. Geezes …. I wish my kid would have been made to sing this crap. I’d sue the grass blades and the rocks in the bus lanes too!

Saddle up partners, storm clouds on the horizon!!

    • Rusty Shackleford says:

I think the e-mail still works. Gee, a shocker that the website was suspended. Wouldn’t want outraged Americans telling them that what they’ve been doing is forwarding a socialist dictatorial agenda. I used to respect teachers. Heck, my MOM was a schoolteacher.

      How times have changed.

  4. NotStuckOnStupid says:

    Got this off twitter:

    Dear Burlington Township Families:

Today we became aware of a video that was placed on the internet which has been reported in the media. The video is of a class of students singing a song about President Obama. The activity took place during Black History Month in 2009, which is recognized each February to honor the contributions of African Americans to our country. Our curriculum studies, honors and recognizes those who serve our country. The recording and distribution of the class activity were unauthorized.

If you have any further questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me or Dr. King, Principal of B. Bernice Young School, directly.

    Dr. Christopher M. Manno,
    Superintendent of Schools</BLOCKQUOTE

    • Rusty Shackleford says:

I’m afraid that pushing an agenda does not meet with my idea of :”awareness”.

    • proreason says:

If they were just honoring and recognizing “those who serve our country” why is recording and distribution unauthorized?

Is there something wrong with “honoring and recognizing”?

Is it “unauthorized” for parents to know what happens in their children’s classrooms?

As an aside, did Acorn “authorize” the distribution of the recent videos about it’s activities?

      just asking

    • Colonel1961 says:

Gotta love it! Not that they did anything wrong! Just that it was unauthorized for us to see it! Unauthorized, huh? Public school? Public funds? Unauthorize this!

Ignore their own stoopid actions, then try to control the message and blame others – typical libs. Ugh…

    • Howard Roark says:

The superintendent seeks to put this fire out by Tweeting to these kids’ parents an “explanation”? How typically-low-rent and bureaucratic of our communist-infiltrated public school system. They have idiots leading the uneducated across our country.

What do we make of this “Dr Christopher Mano”, and his quick-reply explanation that these kids are being filmed during Black History month? The article above clearly states that the film was made in June, as does the Youtube posting itself at the Youtube site.

And if you’re suspicious that this superintendent is scrambling to place this episode under the protective armour of Black History Month, then pausing this clip at the one-minute mark won’t help, as you can see a special display in front of the stage that doesn’t mention Black History Month this or that…but instead, proudly proclaims “I Am Barack Obama”. In fact, there are no decorations proclaiming “February is Black History Month” plastered all over the walls like all schools across America scurry to do every winter.

  5. BillK says:

Per usual, could you imagine the reaction if this were President Bush they were speaking of?

      >>”great accomplishments”<<

Last I checked, Black History Month was in February. He had been in office aabout a month and they are blathering on about his "great accomplishments"?

Yes, it is quite fitting that the song is lame.

  6. David says:

It is fitting that their song is pretty lame. I hope every one of these kids remembers being forced to practice this. When they come of age enough to realize how dumb it sounds it certainly wont work towards the progressive’s favor.

  7. Reality Bytes says:

This has nothing to do with black or white. It is blind indoctrination. NJ assumed $9,000,000,000,000 in debt (yup that spelled with a B & not counting interest) to ‘upgrade” our state’s schools. This is not what its citizens had in mind. The following is my email that I held pending SG’s posting on S&L To: Denise King, Principal, Bernice Young Elementary, Phone No (609) 386-3520 email dking@burltwpsch.org

    Ms. King:

While reading the various papers this morning, I came across the Youtube video that is purported to have been taken at Bernice Young Elementary showing a teacher instructing what seems to be 1st or 2nd grader’s being drilled on a song of praise for President Obama. For your convenience, I am attaching a link to the video footage that was aledgedly taken at Bernice Young Elementary.

I suppose you met your morning with some dread given the emails from citizens & calls from the media. Obfuscation & avoidance will only lead to intensifying the pressure that must be on you, your faculty & sadly the children of Bernice Young. I cannot recommend to you more the need to get ahead of this story as soon as is possible with an honest assessment of the situation regardless of who was a part of this program; not necessarily to protect any one of your faculty, your administration or BOE but, “For The Children”, Madam.

I trust you can appreciate how the progressive movement would be mobilized had, in the 1980’s; a school launched a program of praise for Ronald Reagan for “winning the cold war”, “saving the hostages” & “restoring our country”. Ma’am, if can not imagine such a thing, conversely, you are about to find out.

Hopefully, this story has no merit & I would be happy to hear that it doesn’t. However, as a tax paying citizen of the state of New Jersey whose taxes continue to go to paying the debt on the nine billion dollars of debt that were spent on this state’s public school’s, I as well as any citizen of New Jersey have the right to hear a full accounting of this matter while you have the responsibility to do so.

Assuming that it did take place at your school. You, your faculty & BOE will be held accountable. It is vital that you be forthright by disclosing who is responsible for subjecting children to such indoctrination of a political figure & the agenda he or she represents. You, Ms King are responsible to account for how it was condoned; for the children’s sake, Ms. King; for the children’s sake.

Thank you for your attention of this matter. I look forward to your response.

    • proreason says:

and if that doesn’t get results, I suggest a Valentine’s Day card with a picture of Marie Antoinette on the front and a picture of a guillotine on the inside.

    • Reality Bytes says:

Hey! This is Jersey. Who knows what can happen! Remember McGreavy?!

    • Liberals Demise says:

      RBtini’s for by buddies!!

    • DW says:

RB, that’s a great letter -very well written.
But I have to confess that I am surprised you didn’t end it in caps:
“AND YES, MS. KING, I AM YELLING!” ;-)

  8. bousquem says:

Wow, can anyone say indoctrination. You would think that this was some alternate future where the soviet union and affiliated nuts took over everywhere and we are singing the praises of our “dear leader”. Of course with the way the left is driving things, might as well be in a communist country.

  9. Fuzzlenutter says:

    Serious shades of Mao Zedong…

  10. Howard Roark says:

So many years have passed since we learned of how the Communists set up “re-education” camps in Vietnam before and after we allowed the cowards in our country to abandon the millions who needed us. The foggy details of how these Communists operate can be made more clear in videos such as this. School marms like this one clap and lead our kids, then us, into gulags, trenches, and ovens. Her cackling and communistic glee (“All riiiight! I like dat!” @ :38) stands as a tragic contrast to the grey, bleak, tyranny that awaits us.

    • proreason says:

      Don’t be so harsh, HR.

She has the noun the verb and the object in the right places. The chances of getting it right are 1 in 6.

And she’s just a school teacher.

  11. heather08 says:

So it’s ok if this is during Black History Month? Sorry, it’s a political pep rally, not a song about someone’s accomplishments. What accomplishments did B. Hussein have, by the way, after less than one month in office? What accomplishments does he have even now, except wrecking the economy?

  12. Carol says:

This seems less like a replacement of the “Star Spangled Banner” and more like a replacement for “Jesus Loves the Little Children” which is a song…. glorifying… God…. Hmm?

  13. VMAN says:

Anybody have any idea when this is all going to reach critical mass?

  14. ptat says:

How bizarre! She rips off “Jesus Loves the Little Children”, ” The Battle Hymn of The Republic” and the Campbell’s Soup jingle. A truly deranged mind! Jesus will forgive, but the Marines and Campbells might want to sue….

  15. GTBurns says:

I wonder what songs these kids will be singing when the DEMS get smeared in the 2010 midterms and Obama becomes a one termer in 2012.

  16. katmeredith says:

It’s kind of catchy. It’s stuck in my head. Someone save me.

On the other hand, that was probably their point. Indoctrination should be catchy and should stick in your head. Seriously, uproar?? Why can’t we get a good uproar, already? This is at least the 3rd such video I have seen. And ripping off Jesus Loves Me was just wrong.

  17. MinnesotaRush says:

“The recording and distribution of the class activity were unauthorized.”

So it’s perfectly okay that we did it; but it is simply unforgiveable and innapropriate that you found out about it.

I don’t want this kind of people around my (or your) kids!

  18. BillK says:

Don’t you love the “I am Barack Obama” sign off to the side of the kids at 1:01?

  19. canary says:

Jesus said it’s better to have a rope with rock tied around your neck, and thrown in the sea, than to mislead a child.
The head of the NEA resigned. It was not legal giving the members dues to Obama. I can only imagine who the new one will be.

  20. Confucius says:

    I smell a Grammy.

  21. Tater Salad says:

This is all we need, Chairman Maobama and his commrades indoctrinating kids who can’t even vote and don’t even know what equal pay for a days work is. Please, hurry up election time. First there is going to be a bunch of Senators and Rep. unemployed and then in 2012, He’s out!

  22. Tater Salad says:

Sounds just like Rev. Wright and Black Theology month has arrived early this year!

  23. Steve says:

Another song in praise of ‘The Won’:

    YouTube – Kids Obama Song

    The Obama Song (“Proud American”)
By Mr. B and the students of Room 8
    February 2009

    Obama is the President!
    First African America in history
44th president of the United States
    The ground has shifted
    The world has changed!

    Oooo Im a proud American
Oooo yes yes yes yes YES WE CAN!

Im going to study really hard just like Barack
    Learning never ever stops
Gonna set my goals HIGH and graduate
You might be looking at the President of 2048!

We are a nation of a thousand colors, look at me
    Our strength is our diversity
Walking hand in hand we sing
Each a day a little closer to the dream of Dr. King

    (Exerpt from MLK’s “I Have a Dream, 1963)

    Together we walk
    Me and you
    So so much work
    Left to do.

  24. sheehanjihad says:

the song the kids wont be forced to sing…but it’s more true than the original

    Mm, mmm, mm!
    Barack Hussein Obama

He said that you must end this strife
and make him president for life…
    Mm, mmm, mm!
    Balock Insane Obama

His Congress passed a law today
You must work so they can play
    Mm, mmm, mm!
    Barack Hussein Obama

Accept his leftist song and dance
or you’ll end up in “special camps”
    Mm, mmm, mm!
    Barack Hussein Obama

Please dont make Dear Leader mad,
Just grab your ankles, Mom and Dad
    Mm, mmm, mm!
    Barack Hussein Obama

We must do our duty every day
and report the things our parents say
    Mm, mmm, mm!
    Barack Hussein Obama

    Mm, mmm, mm!
    Barack Hussein Obama
    Mm, mmm, mm!
say bye to dad and mama!

  25. NickB says:

The lies keep coming, and the central figures, Charisse Carney-Nunes (friend of BHO) and Elvira James have been muzzled. Funny that huh?
